Review: My wife and I met with [redacted] from gateway fence and deck to get a price on a fence for our back yard. We showed him the area he measured it and gave us a price we agreed and he said it would be done in about a week. The day the work was done my wife and I had to work so we left the payment with our baby sitter. After the workers left [redacted] came to the house to collect payment for the job the baby sitter payed him because she thought the job was complete. When I returned home from work I noticed the fence was not complete. The fence did not go to the end of my property to meet up against the back fence it's about 4feet short. My wife and I sent an email to [redacted] explaining this and he agreed it would be done. It never was. We continued to email and call he would always have a reason for why it was not completed yet. This started in september and has not been completed. I hope you can help we have emails if you would like to see them I feel we have very patient and made every effort to try and resolve this before filling this complaint.Desired Settlement: For [redacted] of gateway fence and deck to complete the job he was paid to do.

Review: The contractor failed to install the fence as I had requested to ensure that it was low enough to the ground so that my small dog could not get under it. I reported the mistake as soon as the job was completed back in August of this year. Although the owner has promised on several occasions that it would be fixed and that he was only waiting for an additional part, nothing has been done to date. The owner is now ignoring all of my calls.Desired Settlement: I would like the portion of my fence that is too high (where my dog can get under it) to be adjusted as I had requested from the beginning of the job.

Review: We went to contract for a backyard fence in May. The owner of Gateway, [redacted], told us the product would be in in about two weeks and then installed. The fence was finally installed in August! Both my husband and myself called Mr. [redacted] repeatedly for updates during that time . Getting information from him was like pulling teeth. I called him two days after initially going to contract to tell him that instead of three 4 ft. gates, we wanted two 4 ft. gates and one 5 ft gate. He told me he would change the order immediately. When the fencing material was finally delivered for installation, there was no 5 ft gate - he never made the change on the order. We agreed that he should install the rest of the fence and just leave that last gate uninstalled until he could get the 5 ft gate. In the meantime, they put an unattractive chain-link fence over the spot where the gate should be so that our dog couldn't get out. He assured us that he spoke to the company that manufactured the fence, and they were taking a 5 ft gate off of another order to give to us by the end of that week. The fence was installed on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 13th and 14th. It is now September 23rd. Our 5 ft gate has still not been delivered over a month later. We have left SEVERAL messages for [redacted], on both his office and cell numbers. I have left at least three messages on each phone number, and my husband has left at least one message on each phone number. My last voicemail to [redacted] stated that if he didn't return our call and at least update us on the status of the gate, we would be forced to file with the Revdex.com. That voicemail was left last Wednesday. I have given him almost a week to respond to that message, and have not heard from him. I even drove by the address on his letter head ([redacted]) to see if I could speak to him face-to-face. The address was a private residence, so I did not feel comfortable knocking on the door.Desired Settlement: We just want the 5 ft gate we originally ordered. The piece of chain-link is hideous and difficult to move when my husband needs to bring the lawnmower into the backyard. And it would be nice if [redacted] could return a phone call. The total for the fence was $8,625, plus the extra cost of the larger gate, which was about another $150...[redacted] didn't give me an exact price on that. We have now paid him over $8,300, so very little of the money was held back. I stupidly trusted that he would deliver on the gate. When they began installing the fence, we had only paid 50%. Another 25% was due when the materials arrived - I promptly paid that. And the 25% balance was due upon completion. In retrospect, I should never have paid him any of that last 25% because the fence was never completed. I believe that if he had over $2000 outstanding he would have delivered/installed our gate as promised, but with only $300 outstanding, it probably wasn't worth his time to compete the job.
