It is up to the patient to determine if they would qualify for medical cannabis of not prior to making an appointment based on them looking to see if they have the diagnosis that would qualify them. We did not get the patient's records until the day he came into the office, so there was no way for this office to review his records. There was no discussion with the doctor prior to making the appointment. The physical examination that Dr. [redacted] did to evaluate Mr. [redacted] was conducted during his visit. A patient cannot see a doctor and decide after an evaluation that he or she wants his or her money back because they did not get the results they want or a specific medication they want. Dr. [redacted] performed his evaluation in good faith to determine if this patient was qualified for medical cannabis based on the criteria the state of Illinois has set. When potential patients request an appointment, we do not pre-screen their medical conditions for medical cannabis. Also, Dr. [redacted] sent a referral for this patient to [redacted] Family Health Center for his chronic pain syndrome and chronic pancreatitis for treatment since he does not have insurance.
