About 6-years ago we hired Bear to put a new roof on our houseWe were quite pleased with this job they didMy partner elected to keep the existing exhausts fans on the roof, even though Bear recommended they be removedSeveral months ago there was a heavy rain in Birmingham on a Monday night and we called Bear and they did come out and put a tarp around one of the exhausts where the rain was coming in, and when one of the men was walking out our door, he said someone would be out the next day to fix the problemI was not working at the time, so staying home was not a big deal, except no one from Bear showed up, nor even called to say they would not be able to come outThe next day I called and spoke with someone name of ***I found that she was about as useless as a nipple on a nunShe said she would contact the worker and see what was going on and get back with meI never heard from her that dayThe next day I called again and got her voice mailShe never returned my c
Bear Roofing was recommended by a neighbor and was very pleased with service! They were extremely helpful and accommodating during the roofing process They completed work on time! In addition, they also installed some porch skylights that look great
We hired Bear to replace our roof I have a number of issue with the work they did
1) They insisted that they be paid in full before they were off my property I trusted them and did Big mistake
2) Ridge vents - Bear recommended that we get rid of our attic fans and replace them with ridge vents This summer we can't keep the upstairs coolMy air conditioning man says the units are fine but the ridge vents were installed improperly and suggested that we have them removed and install attic fans
3) They beat the roof so hard when removing the old tiles that they knocked lose a ceiling light and left tons of particle board chips all over the attic space
3) We found at least roofing nails in the driveway and yard after they left
4) They damaged a gutter and promised to come back and fix it They never did
5) They killed plants in our garden
If you use these people don't pay them in full until you've had them repair all the damage they do

I had wind damage to my commercial building and home, and Bear Roof worked long and hard to fix the damage, going above and beyond to do extra things, spend extra time to make sure it was done well and we were dry. They were courteous, explained everything, and I really enjoyed working with them. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them for any roofing problem.
Bear Roofing has been a nightmare to deal with. We hired Bear Roofing last year to fix a minor leak. They told us that it was a roofing issue and that they could fix it. Unfortunately, we thought the leak was fixed and we paid them in full. With each heavy rain this year we have had to call them to come back to fix the same leak. What was a minor leak has now become a huge leak over the year.
The last roofing crew, Bear Roofing, sent to our house to fix the leak told me that the flashing had not properly been put back on the roof. They were told to patch the problem, but not to fix them problem correctly.
This week I have had to called them back to come fix the leak again. Now they are telling me it is not a roofing problem and they are not qualified to fix the leak. They have also told us not to call them back and to only contact them through their lawyers. The owner of the company has never come on site to inspect the situation.
We tried to be fair and ask for 75% of our money back, so we can call a reliable roofing company and pay them to fix the problem. The owner of the company will not talk with us about resolving the situation. We are only aloud to speak with the very rude receptionist.
This has become a nightmare! Please consider this experience before you hire Bear Roofing.

We had our roof replaced by Bear Roofing about 8 months ago. Everything went well. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant and knowledgeable. We were not asked to pay up front. 90% of the job was completed the first day. They cleaned up all of their mess, layed plastic over plants to keep them safe, and we only found a hand full of nails in the yard (expected). We had leaks around our chimney before they came out, and we have had no leaks or problems since the roof replacement. I would highly recommend this company.
