 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I have spoken with several PROFESSIONAL mechanics and the response was all the same. During the repair by Gayan's Auto Body something had to go wrong to the point of needing a motor thereafter.

The problem did not occur when I had the vehicle towed to [redacted] for evaluation..Gayan's was pricing a motor before the vehicle went to [redacted].  As I have stated before, this vehicle had no engine problems prior to going in this shop(Gayan's)

Gayan’s Auto Body received [redacted]’s 2006 [redacted]
on 04/18/2014  as a repair assignment
from [redacted] Insurance Company due to front end damages from a turkey hit.
The cost of damages for the repair $2851.08 are averaged.   [redacted]...

picked her vehicle up
on 04/25/2014 at approximately 4:30 pm.
[redacted] drove the vehicle out of our shop without any issues or
complaints and was satisfied with repairs. Gayan’s Auto Body received a call
from [redacted] on 04/28/2014 at 7:30 am.  [redacted] stated she came out of a store
and started her vehicle, and vehicle made a loud pop, and smoke came from under
the hood.  [redacted] then tried to
start vehicle and claimed the vehicle would not start. [redacted] had the
vehicle towed from the store to her residence.
Gayan’s Auto Body then dispatched our flat bed to pick her vehicle up
from her residence. We brought the vehicle into our shop and inspected the
vehicle.  Gayan’s found that the spark
plug and coil pack was blown off of the number one cylinder, which is on the
back side of the engine under the intake (not in claim damaged area).  Gayan’s involved [redacted] and could not
relate to the Insurance claim. We then called [redacted] in to inform her of
what we found wrong with her vehicle and gave her a price to fix what we found. Our
initial diagnosis showed two different types of plugs in the vehicle.  It appeared to us during the inspection, that
somebody replaced plugs and did not replace properly. After further diagnosis
of the vehicle,  we found that the
threads on the number one cylinder were damaged (no threads).  Gayan’s then called [redacted] back to let
her know what the additional costs would be to re-sleeve the cylinder, and she
approved the repairs. Gayan’s did the repairs and the vehicle started and ran
fine for the test drive.   When the vehicle
was put in neutral it had a slight miss. Customer came by because she saw her
vehicle sitting out front and she asked if the repairs were completed.  I, Jeff Gayan, told her the vehicle was all
back together and work completed and also told her there was still a slight
miss in the engine when in neutral idol. [redacted] and her brother were both
on our lot with vehicle running and her brother was in the vehicle revving
engine in park past red line and engine light on dash came on and they refused
to take the vehicle.  Gayan’s was waiting
for a call back from [redacted] claims department and they denied being part of
claim. Gayan’s then called [redacted] to let her know that she would have to
pick the vehicle up because [redacted] denied engine being part of the claim.
Darlene came to shop and paid the bill and had vehicle towed to Bryans Road
[redacted]. We then called Glenn at Bryans Road [redacted] ( ###-###-#### ) to follow
up three days later to ask his professional diagnosis of her vehicle. He quoted
there was compression on number one plug and they were going to try a longer
spark plug due to us re-sleeving the head.
Gayan’s then called [redacted] to see if this was a legitimate
procedure and [redacted] (###-###-####) the service writer said it was not recommended.
Gayan’s is not responsible due to the surrounding facts of this vehicle leaving
this shop and a non recommended procedure by ford was performed (longer shaft
on plug).Regards,Jeff G[redacted]Gayan’s Auto

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
In reply to the response of Gayan's Auto Body, the vehicle was never restarted after first attempt. Also, the check engine light came on at his lot which indicated to me a problem which had nothing to do with reviving the engine. Prior to any service done at this shop the vehicle had no engine problems in which [redacted] could vouch for since they have been doing all oil changes since the purchase of the car last year.

Therefore the vehicle was towed to [redacted] in order to not have any doubt of what was done at Gayan's Auto Body.  What [redacted] tried to do was attempt to fix what was previously done, from what I understand the plug was not connecting so the only thing they did was to try a longer plug which did not work.

This vehicle was accessed by Gayan's Auto Body also serviced and paid in full over $800.00 and the vehicle was not in good condition with the valves tapping and a miss with the check engine light on. This is not acceptable service, which cost me an additional $2100.00

Review: April 21,2014 my vehicle was towed to Gayan's Auto Body due to an accident involving a turkey. My insurance ([redacted]) recommended this shop due to their repair membership. April 23, 2014 an estimate of damages totaled $2,841.30 and my deductible paid to Gayan's Auto was $100.00 paid on April 25,2014 (Friday evening) and picked up vehicle. On April 26, 2014 (Saturday) vehicle broke down. Was at a local store, upon starting vehicle made a noise and turned switch off. Vehicle was towed by my brother home. Assuming it had something to do with recent repairs I called [redacted] and had vehicle towed back to Gayan's Auto Body on April 28, 2014 (morning).. Gayan's Auto mechanic accessed vehicle and called me stating that a spark plug blew out of its socket, in which had nothing to do with the prior incident. I informed the mechanic I never hear of such and I stopped in the shop and he showed me under the hood and tried to explain. I told him ok, call me with the cost to repair. He called me back with a price of $647.00(that I recall) and said ok fix it. I called the mechanic back and asked him to replace other plugs since he had it apart and call me with the cost.. He called me back with a price of $816.00 I told him if it had to be done just do it, he than said at least you be good for another 100,000 miles.. May 01,2014 I seen the vehicle sitting out of garage so I stopped in and he said you all set, he then brought the vehicle around, and my brother said this car is not right, the engine was tapping and shaking while we was still at the shop discussing what we were paying $800 for, because vehicle had no engine problems before it entered this shop, the check engine light came on and the mechanic put a tester on it and did not tell me what it said. We left the vehicle there pending a accident investigation from an [redacted] rep.. With no response from anyone I stopped in the shop May 5 2014 and asked the mechanic whats going on and he stated I'm waiting to hear from the rep, and I got a estimate on a motor, I said motor, motor.. This had never been mentioned to me at all. Thereafter [redacted] rep called me said this was not due to accident with turkey, which I accepted this finding. But I had to pay $816.52 for a botched repair by Gayan's Auto Body, paid this amount on May 08,2014 and had vehicle towed by [redacted] $70.00 to my mechanic at [redacted]. They accessed the vechicle and said when repairing the plug the previous shop(Gayans) might have hit a piston and resulting in needing a motor. Total cost for motor and labor spent $2147.00Desired Settlement: Cost of repairs thereafter being in this shop: $70.00 tow to another responsible shop, Motor $500.00, and labor to install motor $1547.00
