Review: Though high priced , the merchandise I paid for, I received, as I determined when I weeks later found the sales receipt in my wallet. What I didn't receive was something the sales clerk and I searched for and she finally found but which was not in the bag when I got home. What followed was a series of courteous requests from me (before I found my receipt) for the missing merchandise and a series of statements from the owner that they had put the missing merchandise in the bag (even though, as it turned out, I had not paid for the merchandise, and, thus, it had no right to be in the bag). After I said it was not in the bag, he said he would order and send the missing merchandise to me. The merchandise never arrived, and he was mystified.

This is my note to him after I found my receipt:

Mystery solved, somewhat.

From the receipt, it appears that I was not charged for harps, which explains why they weren't in the bag. If I read the receipt correctly, I was charged for 3 finials and 3 over-the-bulb supports, to go with the three lamp shades that required them. The harps were to go with the other two shades I bought for the lamp I brought in and its mate, and the finials were not to be replaced.

So, the mystery is solved, as far as I'm concerned. I neither paid for the harps nor received them.

You and I were chatting away about your merchandise and about [redacted], or I would have been more attentive and, consequently, less confused. Your clerk and I spent a good amount of time looking for the harps, so I could not understand why they were not in the bag or at your store. I would hope that you have found them by now, because, apparently, they never left the store.

As far as the replacement harps you ordered and sent to me, that I never received (packages sent by the US mail are delivered inside a secure door), I can make no assumptions.Desired Settlement: Honesty is the best policy, supposedly, but [redacted] apparently does not think so. My bill was $300 for small time stuff. Ridiculous the amount of time we spent on this exchange, after I honestly thought I had paid for minor but important merchandise to me, for which the clerk and I had searched, but which was not in the tied bag when I got home. The owner could have addressed the issue from the beginning. As it turned out, I did not pay for more than I received, but, before I found my receipt, the owner claimed the so-called missing merchandise was in the bag I was given and later declared that what the clerk had found and supposedly had put into the bag was not to be found at the store (therefore, I had received the items) and, finally, he said that he had special ordered replacements, which I never received and which he only could say were "never returned" by the postal service.

What could have been solved so easily by the owner--let us show you what you paid for and sorry we left out the items you were looking for--turned into a month long, ridiculous lie.

It is wrong for a merchant to feel that this is okay. No telling what else he is up to.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and, while I disagree that I owe him an apology and stand by my complaint, I feel the matter is not worth any more of anyone's time.
