Hello, my name is Gerald M*** and I am the Service Mgr of Gaynors Automotive Salmon CreekThank you for your timeOn February 18th of 2015, *** *** had brought her Chevrolet Silverado 1500(132,miles) into Gaynors Automotive for replacement of the vehicles leaking rack &
pinion as well as the leaking power steering pump. At this time we had installed both units, aligned the vehicle, test drove it and once we were certain the proper repairs had been made, we released the vehicle to ***On March 4th *** returned with concerns about her truck, at this time the vehicle had only traveled milesThe technician test drove the vehicle and confirmed ***'s concern, the technician found the power steering was in fact defective and needed to be replaced under warranty.On March 10th *** returned again with concerns regarding the steering system, the technician test drove and confirmed that the rack & pinion and power steering pump were both defectiveWe contacted our initial supplier regarding the issue and informed them of the problemWe then installed an A/C Delco rack & pinion as well as power steering pump with no additional charges, the exact same units used at the dealershipWith the new units installed, the vehicle test drove excellent and we released the truck to ***Approximately weeks later *** called with concerns of the new factory parts being noisy and wanted us to ad an A/C Delco power steering fluid additive that she had purchased from the local General Motors dealershipAt this time we added the fluid to the system even though there was no abnoises presentBeing that it was a product made by the same manufacturer as the rack & pinion and power steering pump, we felt confident that the additive would be fine*** waited while we added the fluid and immediately left with the vehicleApproximately week later *** called and made an appointment with us as she was still concerned with the sound and now believed the steering was not stable*** was not able to make her appointment due to work constraints but eventually showed up approximately weeks laterAt this time I had my SrSteering and Suspension technician go on a test drive with *** ***, the test drive lasted over minutes, during this test drive the vehicle steering performed as designed, there was no abnoises, no play causing any type of stability issuesWhen the technician had made his way off the freeway to turn back to town, *** informed the technician that he had missed the spot in the road where the stability problem occurredUpon the arrival back to the shop, the technician inspected the tire pressure, he found that the driver side tire had been over inflated to psi while the other three remained at the correct setting of psiAt this time, *** came into the front lobby and informed me that the technician missed the spot in the road where her trouble occurred and that she going to go and find the spot on the freeway that had caused her concern and when she did she would come back for another test driveAt this time I had informed *** that if it was a particular spot in the road that caused the vehicles steering to feel unstable then it would be the road condition and not the condition of the truck, this again after she had agreed that the vehicle performed flawlessly during the minute plus test driveAt this time I had informed *** that I would not be willing to send my technician out for another minutes to find a bad section in the road*** informed me at this time that she was going to attempt to reverse the charges on her credit card as well as contact the Revdex.comI told her that if the vehicle were to have an issue, that we would have once again back up our warranty and repair the vehicle but at this time there is absolutely no issue with the power steering system.
