Dear all,
id="yui_3_7_2_1_14***84_1932" "margin: 0px; padding: 0px">At GBSD, we value our customers and their feedback; and take customer issues very seriouslyIn regards to the complaint submitted to Revdex.com on 05/24/with the assigned ID of ***, here is our response:
GBSD fee is $per hourWe where call out for a main line stoppage
The first Technician tried to clear the blockage from the only cleanout access located underneath the kitchen sink window on the outside wall for about 1/hrHe was unable to hit the blockage due to either the long distance or the hard obstruction stuck in the line
The Technician in duty let the customer know that he would need to call for help and bring the Hydro-jetter equipment which is a specialized equipment for sewer pipe clearing and cleaning with gallons of water at 4,psi per minute due to the long distance between the exit cleanout access and the blockage
The Dispatcher called the customer to get authorization from her to send the second Technician and let her know the Hydro-jetter cost would be $
When the second Technician arrived (about 1/hour later), he told to the customer that he would take care of the problem and send the fiber optic camera to make sure that the line would be safe and in good condition after clearing it (The Tech did not talk about the cost of the camera service to the customer)
After clearing the line, the technician sent fiber optic cameraHe found a lot of roots build up in to the main sewer line which he showed to the customer's daughter(The picture showed was the actual condition of the pipe and not a film recorded previously)
There is no more cleanout access into the main sewer line between the house and the city line except for the one by the kitchen which is only a 2" sizes and is recommended to send a bigger hose from that sizes of cleanout access.
The Technician climbed on the roof and jetted the line with a 1/2" hose and root cutter nozzle to cut the roots as much as possible while he was sending the camera through the roof vent to trace the pipe and locate the damaged section of the pipeAll this process took both Techs about hours
The second Technician asks for permission to enter into the house to flush the toiletHe wanted to make sure the water was running properly; but he saw a lot of human feces in the shower tubSo he took the initiative to spray the shower tub with deodorant and disinfectant to clean up human feces; he wanted to help the customer so that she didn't need to deal with the dirty cleaning jobHe also recommended the customer to disinfects the tub before its use
The Technician did not give to the customer an invoice or paper work on the job siteThe bill was paid by credit card; so the offices usually send a sales receipt and a customer copy from the credit card institution after it is processed
It is our commitment to follon any job until the problem is fixed permanently at our customer's satisfaction; for this reason, the Technician offered himself to return to the job site (at no cost to the customer) to show and explain her the condition of the pipe and to give her the different options available to take care of the problemThe customer asked for a rough estimate over the phone but refused the Technician to return
Usually, a 2" drain clearing through a cleanout access with a cable snake costs between $and $125.00; while a main line stoppage service costs between $and $from a cleanout access and under circumstances which is in the range that the customer used to pay in other occasions as she mentioned
However, we not only snaked the line but we also hydrotted,
The line was hydrotted from the cleanout by the kitchen to clear the line; thereafter, we hydrojetted the line from the roof vent to cut out as much roots as possible that would help to delay a future blockage while the roots growing up; we also inspected the line with fiber optic camera and cleaned the dirty bathtub
We charged the customer $A reimbursement of $was issued as a courtesy since we didn't mention the camera service feeThe total charge was $
Let say that GBSD would had to charge her per hour at a $rate; we had to charge her just for one Tech no less than $hrs plus $for Hydrojetter job and for camera job would be $Instead, we only charged hr ($170) plus the hydrojetter job ($385)
At GBSD, we value our customers and their feedback; and take customer issues very seriouslyAnd we regret any inconvenience caused by what we find as a misunderstandingFor this reason, GBSD is glad to offer the customer one drain clearing job during this year (we are sure that will happen due to the conditions of the pipe) from a clean out access at no cost to them.
Sincerely;
*** ***

WE HAD JUST MOVED INTO OUR HOUSE AND WAS HAVING PLUMBING ISSUES. I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND GBSD PLUMBING. THEY CAME OUT THE SAME DAY AND PRICES WERE REASONABLE. WE WILL BE USING GBSD PLUMBING FOR ALL OUR PLUMBING ISSUES

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Mr. [redacted] of GBSD Plumbing is making an offer which does not resolve their business practice.  I was NEVER provided any opportunity to review a quote of the work being performed, no authorization was requested, nor was an estimate provided.  I actually had to call to request a receipt be mailed.  It was not until I called that I received a receipt days later in the mail.  I believe this leaves the consumer vulnerable to "price as you go," and allows for GBSD to charge the consumer after work has been performed, leaving no choice or option for the consumer.  In addition, it allows GBSD Plumbing to discriminate as to assets of the property owner and what they may believe the consumer may be able to afford.  There was, and to my knowledge, still no "up front pricing."  Mr. [redacted] offers to clean a drain, but we have lived in this residence for over 10 years without any incident and the claim of tree roots is unrealistic to me as we have ALL concrete, with the exception of a planter with small shrubs and a small palm - NO TREES.  I, furthermore, did not appreciate Mr. [redacted] inferring that my husband had to be present for him to discuss what his diagnostic was regarding the pipe.  I did not want to schedule a meeting with Mr. [redacted], especially after the unexpected charge of over $600 to clean a drain.  I could only imagine what he would estimate.  I advised Mr. [redacted] I made all of the financial decisions and it was only then he quoted nearly $4,000 - $6,000 to replace a small portion of pipe, which would require tearing up a large portion of the concrete landscape.  I respectfully declined, as I respectfully decline Mr. [redacted]'s current offer to clear a drain because he assumes there will be an issue in less than 7 months (before this year ends).  GBSD does not offer a change to their practice of not providing estimates/billing practices.  I believe this is unfair to the consumer.  I, furthermore, believe my original offer to be reimbursed for a portion of the billing was more than reasonable.  I must decline any additional services to be provided by GBSD Plumbing at my residence because of the original complaint.  I do not believe the offer of GBSD Plumbing to be of good faith, but merely a gesture.
Regards,
[redacted]

Dear all,In regards to the complaint submitted to Revdex.com on 05/24/14 with the assigned ID of [redacted], here is our response:At GBSD we value our customers and their feedback. As a result, GBSD has carefully reviewed the customer’s complaint and decided to evaluate and update its policy in regards to estimates and billing practices. Therefore, GBSD will modify its policy and provide quotes in advance of services and allow its consumers to authorize the same.At the same time, the billing practices that the customer refers to will be automatically modified by the change in the policy.Because GBSD value our customer’s feedback, we are pleased to fulfill the customer’s desired settlement in regards to our policies.GBSD would also like declare and insist that after clearing the line, the technician sent fiber optic camera and he found a lot of roots build up in to the main sewer line which can cause further damages to the line. GBSD feels sorry that the customer has declined our good faith offer and look forward to better serve the  needs of our customers.Again, we value our customers and their feedback; and take customer issues very seriously. We regret any inconvenience caused by what we find as a misunderstanding.Sincerely; [redacted]
