Here is additional information to review I will also send over pictures for your review The reason we never paid the final 10% was as listed in the complaint The work was not completed, the floor once again was not done correctly, hence the leak in the ceiling I was not going to have the floor torn up for the third time while my kids were all home and have to endure the madness of contruction once again I explained to Joe, who came by for the walk through, not Eric that I will wait for children to return to school before we do this again Unless of course we experience problems in which case we would contact them immediately, which we didHe is correct in stating that we did have problems with the ceiling due to problems with the shower However, the shower was completely removed, by GCI, moved to a differenct location, by GCI and now the new leak is directly under the new shower installed by GCI Please review photos and location of new site Thank you, ***

GCI has made multiple attempts to facilitate the contractual agreement as outlined, however after further demo and discovery during the course of the active project, adjustments were required in order to insure that the home would still be structurally sound after completionThese issues were brought to the attention of the homeowner which would require Aa scope change of the work Ba change order in order to use alternative materials to insure structural stability.GCI will not compromise its integrity nor the integrity of any home regardless of the owners wishes or willingness to shortcut the project to save a few dollars.GCI made additional trips to the home and provided design/scope changes that would not only give them the required storage space but would also add use able deck space off the existing screen porchThis design change included a larger entry than originally requested, as well as other changes that drastically changed the entire scope of the project, changed material quantities, labor charges, etcThe overall outcome would have given a better use of storage space, sq ftof new deck space, covered awning, concrete entry pad, french drains, additional site work, etcTherefore increasing the homes overall value significantly with only a $increase to the contract costEssentially GCI provided a better "bang for the buck" with a very minimal increase in contract price.GCI has provided significant labor to the project, design labor, management labor, equipment rentals, and currently have materials and equipment onsite.GCI has been waiting for an approval to move forward with the new design/scope, (that will not compromise the integrity of the home), and was surprised to see this complaint

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint With the engineer not have been to the site how can Mr [redacted] know that the engineer know that his design was wrontI believe that if GCI's design it wrong then they can not complete the project that they have contracted to do and need to return my depositThis would end our relationship Regards, [redacted]

GCI began to perform work on Mr [redacted] home to the designed scope of work provided by Mr [redacted] However, Mr [redacted] began to engage GCI to manage and order materials during the course of the projectIn addition, Mr [redacted] added many additional work items to the original scope of work near the completion of the projectWhenever, a project has work items added to the scope of work, more work is created which naturally extends the original scope of work’s timelineGCI promptly performed work after each change in materials or scope of workall materials were supplied by Mr [redacted] or approved by him prior to install GCI has made many concessions in attempt to provide customer satisfaction to the client GCI allowed for the billing of a small amount of incidental supplies only if needed such as drywall, drywall compound, thinset etcin an attempt to speed up the projectGCI also requested funds to order additional materials that were requested by the homeowner, not part of the original scope of work GCI stepped in and ordered materials Mr [redacted] did not have materials available in order to complete the project in a timely fashionAll specialty materials were ordered materials which took time to receive a 2-week lead timeAfter receipt of materials, GCI promptly scheduled a time to install the new materialsThere were times during installation it was discovered that some of the materials were not correct and had to be re-ordered, creating additional timeline requirements and expenses outside of GCI’s control GCI performed work not included in his contract at no charge to Mr [redacted] : A EXTRA WORK Halfway through the original install of flooring, Mr [redacted] did not like the tile he purchasedAt Mr [redacted] request, GCI removed the installed tile and even resorted to cleaning each tile at Mr [redacted] so he could return it to the store for a credit thus extending the original timelineB NEW PRODUCTS, LAYOUT & DESIGN The new tile Mr [redacted] selected was not similar in style or patternThe edging on the new tile is a scalloped edge the original scope of work called for a straight edgeIt requires more work and time to install a scalloped edgeThe finished product is not the same in that it will be an uneven serrated edge and not a straight edge as was in the original scope of workIn addition, the layout he requested was changed to a brick pattern, the original scope of work was a straight lay patternBoth changes, product and layout required more time to install and created a near impossible outcome for a uniform edgeHowever, everything installed was to industry standard All materials were either supplied by Mr [redacted] or personally approved by him prior to installAny materials supplied by GCI were new and installed per standard installation practices and industry standardsJobsite was cleaned daily and left clean at completion GCI made every attempt to satisfy the customer by performing a multitude of extra services at no charge, removing and replacing materials or installing newGCI was continually asking home owner for customer satisfaction and ultimately reducing the final invoice by $after final completion of the project to offer further satisfaction This customer ultimately refuses to be satisfied and has made every attempt to run GCI off the job so they wouldn’t need to make paymentMr [redacted] even told GCI to “just chalk it up to the cost of doing business and walk away”Mr [redacted] ultimately received nearly $9,in services for nearly 50% discount and up to the point that Mr [redacted] realized that GCI was going to complete the project did he finally pay the final reduced bill

First of all the response from GCI is false They have only had people here for a total of three day and that is being generousSecond, the revised quote does not have the awning they stated written into the quoteThe third reason is that GCI did the engineering for the original quote, that they, after starting the job wanted to change after another contractor told them that the materials they ordered were wrongThey tried to hire another company to come in and do the jobAfter he looked it over he said that they had ordered the wrong materials for the jobThat is when [redacted] said he didn't want to do the original job as quoted and said he would offer an alternativeThe alternative was over $moreThen he offered a third option that would be about half the space and would have been $moreThis is the one that he claims had the awning that is not in the quoteThis contract was signed in February with work only starting after I got upset and call asking [redacted] if he wanted out of the contractTo which his response was that GCI would keep my deposit without doing anythingThe whole project was to take day and now it's going on monthsThey have done nothing that they had promised from the startThey were to transplant a 20+ year old camellia bush that they left dug upThat even with my constant watering died because they didn't come back for over two moths
