Biggest scammer in Utah
Jack of Gearhead Guys, scammed me out of $6000. He demanded payment up front to replace my motor and go through my out drive. Fourteen weeks later I found Jack had moved over to Daniels Road and had abandoned my boat at his old shop. I demanded my money back and Jack made it abundantly clear, he knows how far he can go to keep things a civil matter and his assets are well hidden from those that would take him to court. Scammer Alert. Jack will not fix your boat but he will take your cash and he does demand cash as he says putting it on a credit card increases your cost of his work by adding interest. He demands cash because when he rips you off, your bank cannot help you. Be advised and be warned, Jack is a scammer. Anyone who has been scammed by Jack please contact me if you want to be added to a class action lawsuit against Jack D.B.A. Gearhead Guys in Heber City Utah.

Gearhead guys - Jack Daggs stole from me too
&2500 down- before Christmas 2019-ya over a year ago. Never did anything. Blames his problems on the machine shop- all while my motor is still in the truck. Jack is incapable of telling the truth, his response will be not true-shove it Jack.

Same crap; different day. $5,500 up front for “high performance boat engine” for my Malibu Wakesetter. Waited fo over a year. Came to pick it up twice. I am a lawyer. Threatened lawsuit but nothing worked. Finally got it back and took it to Powell and the head gasket wasn’t blown in the first 30 minutes. Game over. Which I had seen all the reviews e I suckered for this guy. So many texts sent and nver responded to.

kelly, if engine has an issue its under warranty. we haven't heard a word from you that there was an issue. also, when you came to pick up your boat we ran it with you. if there had been a issue we would have resolved it. engine warranty is still in place. call us if we can help.

Every review I read is exactly what just happened to me. I’m currently working on getting my money back. After he gets your money plan on never getting updates or timeframes. He is completely dishonest, rude and deceitful. I can’t believe Heber city allows a con man to obtain a business license after already serving jail time for fraud. I plan on making sure people don’t give this guy a dime. Jake D, “how do you even sleep at night knowing your stealing and cheating people”. Here’s a link for you to read about this guys background before you do business with him.

The fact that we couldn't meet your time frame, doesn't mean we are dishonest. There's always 2 sides to every story. Also, we have never hesitated to return a customers money. we work at this shop 7 days a week to try and stay current. hope all is well.

I believe Jack and his company are scam artists. I paid $3000 for a new 5.7l Hemi engine in February 2020. He told me I would have the engine in 7-10 days. Every time I talked to him he had excuse after excuse why my engine wasn't done. It's now April 6th 2020. He stopped returning calls and texts. My mechanic talked to him last week and was told the engine would ship that week. Now my mechanic's calls are being screened.

Mr. D, this engine was built specifically for you and your truck. All machine work was performed by *** in Orem Utah. We have those receipts. Understanding that you live in St. George 350 miles from our shop makes it hard to see the problem and diagnose what's wrong.

I found Jack (the owner) in July of 2019. Talked to him about getting a new engine for my boat installed, he let me know the cost of the engine would be $3400, which would be paid up front, and labor would be $1750 that would be paid after the service. He told me to take my boat down in the middle of August, and he said the boat would be done the week of August 24th. When the 28th rolled around I was getting a little concerned. No calls or texts with updates on anything. I began to text him a few times a week to see if I could get a response, since he now had $3400 and my boat. He finally responded to me with one sentence on September 6th with still no updates on the boat. I called around to multiple boat shops in the area and the ones who have previously done business with him had strongly advised me to pick up the boat as soon as possible. After a month of no responses, I decided to text him and tell him I was picking up the boat the following day. He then proceeded to call me and call me a psycho, he asked if I had mental problems, and said I needed to relax and find some patience. The next day when I went to get my boat and my money since he hadn't even started on the install, he refused to give me my money back, even though he had ordered the wrong engine. He told me that if I wanted my money back I had to go dispute it with my bank. Now I am out $3400 for the next 6 weeks until the banks process the dispute. Long story short: don’t trust this man, he is a failing business owner doing anything to survive.

Not so

After months of Jack telling me he was going to work on my boat week after week. I finally decided to take my business elsewhere. He never answered, he never gave me any updates, and in our last conversation over the phone he insulted me over and over. When I went to get my boat back, he refused to give me my money and now I have to figure out how to settle it by myself. Worst customer service and communication I’ve ever received. talk to every other shop in the state, everyone is picking up customers he has left stranded

well there is such a thing as too much business and we will admit that. we've tried to change business practices so we only take on what is reasonable instead of every engine that needs repaired. sorry for your trouble.

I wish I could give them zero stars. Dropped a $2000.00 deposit off in April 2019 to have a new engine put in my boat. Went weeks with numerous calls not getting returned and no updates. I finally got a call back in June saying the engine was finally there and they would install it. Same thing.... Would call Jack, no answer.... I would leave message after message with no reply. When he did call back it was excuse after excuse. Finally got the call that the engine had arrived. Took the boat up in July. Same thing... No answer, no answer.... I dont live close to Never so getting up there was difficult. Finally made it up there in August to see my engine still sitting in the box. He assured me it would be done Wednesday the 28th. Had a friend in Heber do a drive by Tuesday the 27th; boat hasn't moved. This guy is a joke and should not be allowed to run a business. I will be picking up my boat and filing a complaint with my bank to get my money back. DO NOT go to Gearhead Guys.
