Complaint ID [redacted]In response to complaint ID [redacted], GearHeads Auto & Diesel Repair stands behind their work and invoices submitted. Customer dropped her vehicle off at the shop's location the morning of 3/1/17 stating she needed an oil change and would like the following items...
diagnosed - driver's window does not work sometimes, key fob inoperative, when customer turned a/c on she has mildew smell from vents and stated the rubber around her windows has a mildew smell. Customer was charged $71.40 for oil change which included a vehicle inspection report, 5 quarts of 5W20. 1 cartridge style oil filter and windshield washer fluid. Our oil changes are not the cheapest in town due to our extensive check out of the vehicle but we do offer your 3rd oil change free to help out customers receive the best service and price possible. During our vehicle inspection report we found rear brake pads low and explained to customer that rear pads need to be replaced in the near future. Also in the vehicle inspection report we found her rear wiper blade bad and needing replaced. Next per customer's request we diagnosed driver's window not working at all times. Window was working properly while vehicle was in shop. Customer also had a request to diagnose key fob not working, in order to properly diagnose customer's complaint, we had to remove the master window switch from the driver's door panel. We tested wires and found the driver's door lock actuator bad. In order to properly diagnose the key fob complaint, the driver's door lock actuator must be fixed first. Next per customer's request we found cabin air filter needing replaced which could possibly be causing her issues with mildew smells. We were unable to smell the mildew while vehicle was in the shop. We also suggested an odor eliminator combined with the cabin air filter. Customer's final complaint, rubber around windows has mildew smell - we were unable to duplicate while vehicle was in the shop. Our invoices do have a mileage in and out feature but our shop does not utilize the mileage out feature. In our 6 years of business, not one customer had ever been concerned about the mileage out feature. We are unable to disable feature in the database we use. We will take this into consideration for future invoices.
