The customer brought us a used 1998+ wiring harness that he wanted to make work for his truck I advised him that he did not have the correct wiring harness for his specific engine combo I recommended that he get the correct part or that I could order him a new, correct harness The customer did not want to wait for a new part to come in so I advised that we would attempt to make his used part work I have a great deal of experience with this type of work I advised that the price would simply depend on how long it took us to fix it for him We estimated the cost to be $400-$500, but the work took longer than anticipated and I had to go to a local salvage yard to acquire additional parts needed to make the harness work I deleted the wires that he didn't need, in the manner I said I wouldI never said I was going to completely disassemble the harnessI also never said that I would be including new loomingI advised the customer in the very beginning that he should acquire the correct part or take it somewhere different that might charge him less to fix it I did not change the size (length or width) of the harnessBecause he didn't have the correct harness, it is possible that it did not fit properly when he tried to install itThe customer broke a connector when he first tried to install it He brought it back, saying that I put a broken connector on it I did not, but for the sake of argument, I went ahead and replaced the connector I advised the customer that the harness he purchased did not support knock sensorsA year 1998+ wiring harness is pre-knock sensor eraVehicles are not required to have them The customer also had the wrong computer for the vehicle I advised the customer his was not the correct one and he went to the junk yard and purchased the one I advised I was able to flash the computer correctly for his combination When the customer left with his parts, I gave him specific instructions on how to install the harness and what additional parts he would need to purchase I have attempted to help the customer over the phone and online with installation questionsOnce the customer became belligerent and cursing, I cursed back I am too busy to spend the day being cursed at by a customer that I have gone above and beyond for It seems that maybe this project is beyond his skill level I offered for the customer to bring me back the wiring harness and I would give him $to purchase a different one, but he declined Sincerely, [redacted] Owner, GearHeads Automotive and Performance

correct harness.  The customer did not want to wait for a new part to come in so I advised that we would attempt to make his used part work.   I have a great deal of experience with this type of work.  I advised that the price would simply depend on how long it took us to fix it for him.  We estimated the cost to be $400-$500, but the work took longer than anticipated and I had to go to a local salvage yard to acquire additional parts needed to make the harness work.  I deleted the wires that he didn't need, in the manner I said I would. I never said I was going to completely disassemble the harness. I also never said that I would be including new looming. I advised the customer in the very beginning that he should acquire the correct part or take it somewhere different that might charge him less to fix it.  I did not change the size (length or width) of the harness. Because he didn't have the correct harness, it is possible that it did not fit properly when he tried to install it. The customer broke a connector when he first tried to install it.  He brought it back, saying that I put a broken connector on it.  I did not, but for the sake of argument, I went ahead and replaced the connector.  I advised the customer that the harness he purchased did not support knock sensors. A year 1998+ wiring harness is pre-knock sensor era. Vehicles are not required to have them.  The customer also had the wrong computer for the vehicle.  I advised the customer his was not the correct one and he went to the junk yard and purchased the one I advised.  I was able to flash the computer correctly for his combination.  When the customer left with his parts, I gave him specific instructions on how to install the harness and what additional parts he would need to purchase.  I have attempted to help the customer over the phone and online with installation questions. Once the customer became belligerent and cursing, I cursed back.  I am too busy to spend the day being cursed at by a customer that I have gone above and beyond for.  It seems that maybe this project is beyond his skill level.  I offered for the customer to bring me back the wiring harness and I would give him $200 to purchase a different one, but he declined.    Sincerely, [redacted] Owner, GearHeads Automotive and Performance
