Gee-Ar-Gee Construction

Jorge has been working on out project for 17 months. We were contracted to be working together for 7 months. He has every excuse in the book. He is terrible at time management and money management. We have opened a claim with the California state license board, his bond company and his liability. He has stolen money from us and abandoned the project. Jorge is a crook

I wish circumstances were different but sadly after 16 months of construction on my 1920s Spanish Mediterranean home located in Palm Springs my wife and I had to get the CSLB involved because after Jorge collected 365,000 our money he abandoned the project. He left the project with approximately $75,000 worth of damage not to mention the issues on the original contract that he never fulfilled. He miss managed my money, had day laborers doing skilled craftsmen work and always hired the bottom of the barrel to work on my project. I rarely saw the same people at my house.
I hired a general contractor to be the point of contact but Jorge never came to my house and when he did, it was to collect the checks. The day laborers did what they wanted because he was never there to over see my project. his so called Forman is his brother who unfortunately is a liar just like him , half the time he has to be told what to do. It was like the blind leading the blind .

Jorge also has every excuse in the book as to why he cannot come to the project and as to why he never shows up. I believe he is a pathological liar, with horrible communication skills. He and his partner actually told my wife and I that his company does not do retainers and that if we do not continue to pay him 5 thousand dollars a week the project would slow or stop.
I'm writing this review so that others do not fall victim to him or any other contractors schemes. You must keep a retainer of 10% minimum of any contract and take pictures along the way. Keep things organized and on every check write for what you're paying the contractor for.

In conclusion, I don't believe Jorge ever cared about my project, just about the money.
I do believe he's robbing Peter to pay Paul. The CSLB (California State License Board) has said that if a contractor asks you for a large amount of money upfront he's probably paying on back construction projects.
