I am rejecting this response because: Their letter is quite inaccurate.  I called daily and often got no answers.  The shop said they would return calls by certain times and did not.    The owner DID tell me I should be happy that the other mechanic fixed it.  The profanity used was not my words, but rather me saying verbatim what the second mechanic said when he heard how much geedey's charged.  It is still very strange that the second mechanic fixed the car for approximately half of what Geedey's charged to not fix the car.I hope other motorists are able to avoid this mechanic.

I encountered this business on May 9th and was charged an amount that was nothing short of extortion. I was involved in an accident in which the state police were called. As I was not from the area and did not have a mechanic or tow company nearby, the officer called a tow truck off of the state police rotation list. After my car was loaded, I asked the driver where it was going to be taken so I could come take care of it, and was informed that no one was at the office to let me in. The accident was on a Saturday afternoon, and the business closed at Noon and was closed Sundays, as well. I called the business first thing Monday morning and was informed that the tow cost $225 and they were also charging me $120 for three days of storage at $40 each. I was also informed that if I signed the title of my car over to them, that they would reduce my charges from $345 to $100. I understand that the tow driver had to come out after hours and that it was a state police rotation call, both of which cost more than a usual tow; however, my accident was only 1.6 miles away from the Towing company. I also find it outageous that they charged me for storage when they ended up owning the car. Also they charged me for three days of storage when my vehicle wasn't even there for 48 hours, and they weren't open two of those days for me to take care of it. I'm assuming that Geedeys deals with insurance companies that just pay the bill, so they can pretty much charge whatever they want; but as I had no collision insurance, I had to pay the bill myself. I find it rather excessive that I was charged a total of $345 for a 1.6 mile tow. It seems to me that Geedeys is extorting the situtation knowing that when the police call for an accident tow, the customer, or insurance company, has no choice but to pay what is charged. Unfotunately, PA does not have a cap on what can be charged for towing and storage as some other states do; but setting high prices, knowing that the customer has to pay the bill, is still bad business ethics.
