My neighbor's dog, Moka, was living with me; and after several months of pleasant experiences with me, my grandson, my roommate, and my dog, Moka did not want to eat anything, including meat or a meaty bone I let the neighbors know she wasn't feeling well so they came to visit; because sometimes she would get sad if they visited and when they left, she would stand by the door and scratch for them Initially I considered this and they came to visit The next day she still did not want to eat, so I called the vet The information I read about a dog not eating said they could have a cold and not want to eat for a couple days, but don't wait any longer So the next day I told the neighbor she needed to go to the vet When his wife got home, they discussed it I called him to make sure he understood it was serious It was after hours, so they took her to Geisert with a coupon I found in the neighborhood ads I told him to be sure to have them take a blood test When I had called Geisert during the day for information, the guy who answered the phone was abrupt and rude However he did say that if the dog was not eating, we needed to find out right away what was going on When my neighbor got there, they did take blood tests and sent him home Moka was already at the stage where she was hiding and I had to block off the access to under the house She was trying so hard not to die, because she kept coming inside to be with us, but she would go back outside to another hiding place that was accessible The day after the visit to Geisert, she was happy to see my daughter and came out of her hiding place Then when she heard my grandson's voice coming outside, her little tail started to wag She really didn't want to die, I could tell she was trying very hard to be with us That night we still had not heard anything from Geisert If the guy on the phone knew she was in the bad condition by mentioning how her eating was alarming, why did we not get the results of her blood test immediately? If they are an emergency clinic, why wasn't Moka treated as an emergency situation when she hadn't eaten, by that time, for days that night she went outside again to hide, so I didn't want her to be alone I felt she wouldn't live much longer without any kind of treatment I had my roommate bring her inside to be with us When I woke up in the morning, she was dead in my bedroom, and my year old grandson was still asleep in the bed My roommate hurried to take her out and clean up after her, since dying lets the muscles go loose before rigamortus and the contents of the bowels will empty, which is what happened My grandson was extremely close to Moka, because she would let him use her as a pillow when he was tired or watching tv and she loved it Before she came to live with us, she would look through the fence and cry for my dog to come to be with her, and I was the only one she would trust to let pet her After living with us, she became very social and loved everyone who came to visit She was a very special animal and I miss her tremendously But the thing that really upsets me is that she didn't have to dieFinally days after the blood test, Geisert finally called with the results, only Moka died the night before DAYS AFTER AN EMERGENCY BLOOD TEST I find that to be extremely negligent I have had pets for many years, and even my daughter with her cats, have gone to Sierra Vet and never had to wait for the results of a blood test; because when they feel it to be necessary for a blood test, it is considered serious Results from Sierra Vet have come no later than the following morning, and from our experiences with Sierra, it is uncommon to have to wait that long We usually get them the same day So when Geisert took days to cal with the results saying she had a blood infection, which is septisemia, infection throughout the system, there was no doubt she would die without treatmentI also read that when that is known, if i.vantibiotics are given immediately even only hours earlier, the animal or person can be saved Shame on Geisert It says they have been in practice for years I wonder how many other animals have died due to their negligenceAfter that length in practice, there should be no excuse for such a routine, common test to be handled with such a lack of concern The poor dog was suffering If you have a practice that is supposed to handle emergencies of any kind, you should have a lag onsite; and if not, you should have access to one immediately so not to delay deadly results They should not be allowed to "practice" on any being, because they all have feeling and they do feel pain but just don't show it as a part of their instinct; because when all dogs were wild, it was a matter of survival not to show weakness Moka was beyond the ability to disguise her pain They show that they have an A- Revdex.com rating, but the Revdex.com shows they are no a Revdex.com accredited businessHow can they get away with that advertisement? It is misleading at best and destructive and deadly A lot of people look at that to be something to be taken seriously So obviously they know they could not honestly get that rating if they went through the proper process to get it, so they just lie Nobody should have to check if a Revdex.com rating is true, and those who lie about it should be put out of business I'm sure many pets would be better off After looking at their rating, I found only with a decent rating All the rest had star and said it was the worse place they had ever been I will certainly not trust any Revdex.com rating again My dog has not been the same since Moka died, and I don't think my year old grandson would be able to process what really happened I will tell him when he is older, but until then I had to tell him Moka went back with her owner and he took her with him to take care of his sick aunt, so she was going to stay there to keep her company so she wouldn't be along when he couldn't be there Since she lived with us, my dog actually potty trained her so she was able to be let inside for long period of timeHe asked my roommate about her also I don't know if it was because I was not in the room at the time or if it was because he felt something else was wrong with my story We have all kept the same answer He was extremely close with Moka and he would be devastated He is too young at this point to have to deal with something like that It was too sudden His cats are old and one has always been sick, so he is aware that we don't know how much longer they will be with us, but Moka was too sudden for him to understand why she didn't get medicine to save herI don't want him to mistrust all vets, and at this time, he doesn't know how to differentiate I will be forever angry with Geisert and when I can manage my emotions better, I plan to make a trip to them and tell the owners in the waiting room what they did to our precious Moka and what special dog she was She was a very unusual mix of Pitt and Husky and had the markings of a husky with shorter hair and tail did not curl up and very soft She was so loving with me and became more loving with people who came to visit Everyone loved her My grandson still mentions her He misses her Geisert just doesn't care there must be some good money in it for them not to have a conscience and let her die at their negligence and lack of respect for the necessity of an immediate result of blood testing if they felt the need to order it

My neighbor's dog, Moka, was living with me; and after several months of pleasant experiences with me, my grandson, my roommate, and my dog, Moka did not want to eat anything, including meat or a meaty bone. I let the neighbors know she wasn't feeling well so they came to visit; because sometimes she would get sad if they visited and when they left, she would stand by the door and scratch for them. Initially I considered this and they came to visit. The next day she still did not want to eat, so I called the vet. The information I read about a dog not eating said they could have a cold and not want to eat for a couple days, but don't wait any longer. So the next day I told the neighbor she needed to go to the vet. When his wife got home, they discussed it. I called him to make sure he understood it was serious. It was after hours, so they took her to Geisert with a coupon I found in the neighborhood ads. I told him to be sure to have them take a blood test. When I had called Geisert during the day for information, the guy who answered the phone was abrupt and rude. However he did say that if the dog was not eating, we needed to find out right away what was going on. When my neighbor got there, they did take blood tests and sent him home. Moka was already at the stage where she was hiding and I had to block off the access to under the house. She was trying so hard not to die, because she kept coming inside to be with us, but she would go back outside to another hiding place that was accessible. The day after the visit to Geisert, she was happy to see my daughter and came out of her hiding place. Then when she heard my grandson's voice coming outside, her little tail started to wag. She really didn't want to die, I could tell she was trying very hard to be with us. That night we still had not heard anything from Geisert. If the guy on the phone knew she was in the bad condition by mentioning how her eating was alarming, why did we not get the results of her blood test immediately? If they are an emergency clinic, why wasn't Moka treated as an emergency situation when she hadn't eaten, by that time, for 3 days. that night she went outside again to hide, so I didn't want her to be alone. I felt she wouldn't live much longer without any kind of treatment. I had my roommate bring her inside to be with us. When I woke up in the morning, she was dead in my bedroom, and my 5 year old grandson was still asleep in the bed. My roommate hurried to take her out and clean up after her, since dying lets the muscles go loose before rigamortus and the contents of the bowels will empty, which is what happened. My grandson was extremely close to Moka, because she would let him use her as a pillow when he was tired or watching tv and she loved it. Before she came to live with us, she would look through the fence and cry for my dog to come to be with her, and I was the only one she would trust to let pet her. After living with us, she became very social and loved everyone who came to visit. She was a very special animal and I miss her tremendously. But the thing that really upsets me is that she didn't have to die. Finally 3 days after the blood test, Geisert finally called with the results, only Moka died the night before. 3 DAYS AFTER AN EMERGENCY BLOOD TEST. I find that to be extremely negligent. I have had pets for many years, and even my daughter with her 2 cats, have gone to Sierra Vet and never had to wait for the results of a blood test; because when they feel it to be necessary for a blood test, it is considered serious. Results from Sierra Vet have come no later than the following morning, and from our experiences with Sierra, it is uncommon to have to wait that long. We usually get them the same day. So when Geisert took 3 days to cal with the results saying she had a blood infection, which is septisemia, infection throughout the system, there was no doubt she would die without treatment. I also read that when that is known, if i.v. antibiotics are given immediately even only 24 hours earlier, the animal or person can be saved.
Shame on Geisert. It says they have been in practice for 44 years. I wonder how many other animals have died due to their negligence. After that length in practice, there should be no excuse for such a routine, common test to be handled with such a lack of concern. The poor dog was suffering. If you have a practice that is supposed to handle emergencies of any kind, you should have a lag onsite; and if not, you should have access to one immediately so not to delay deadly results. They should not be allowed to "practice" on any being, because they all have feeling and they do feel pain but just don't show it as a part of their normal instinct; because when all dogs were wild, it was a matter of survival not to show weakness. Moka was beyond the ability to disguise her pain.

Since she lived with us, my dog actually potty trained her so she was able to be let inside for long period of time. He asked my roommate about her also. I don't know if it was because I was not in the room at the time or if it was because he felt something else was wrong with my story. We have all kept the same answer. He was extremely close with Moka and he would be devastated. He is too young at this point to have to deal with something like that. It was too sudden. His 2 cats are old and one has always been sick, so he is aware that we don't know how much longer they will be with us, but Moka was too sudden for him to understand why she didn't get medicine to save her. I don't want him to mistrust all vets, and at this time, he doesn't know how to differentiate.

The client named [redacted] states in her complaint that our vet promised her pet another two years of life. That statement is untrue, as neither our vet nor any doctor can promise any length of life to any pet...

whether ill or not ill. Our vets understand the unpredictability of such cases and did not nor has he ever promised nor estimated any length of life expectancy. The pet named Bubba was brought into our facility almost two years ago on 6/1/13, contrary to what the owner stated, which was 6/28/14. The pet had a mass on its thigh which was removed by our vet and a biopsy was declined by the owner at that time. Upon our vet explaining the possibility of cancer, the owner agreed to a biopsy of the mass which was found to be a grade 3 mast cell tumor. A drain tube was placed upon removing the mass as the mass had also become abscessed. The owner was instructed to apply an Elizabethan collar on pet to prevent pet from licking at incision site and to also monitor the pet closely until the removal of the drain tube in one week, and suture removal in two weeks. The owner showed up at our facility after one week and said that the pet had pulled out his drain tube that day and that area had swelled up. Doctor recommended bloodwork to be done at that time and also more antibiotics to be given. Owner never showed up for further re-examination or suture removal as was instructed. Review: On or around the 28th of June, 2014, I took my 2 year old male Dog here. He had a growth on his right hind hip and was having trouble getting around. It kept getting larger so I went to vet. I was told by the said Vetrinarian that my dog had cancer but that it was opratable and promised the life expectancy to be another 2 years (without sig. pain or distress from surgery). I agreed to the op based upon what information I was given by the so called Vet, and paid in full the amount of $1200.00 in cash. The incision was jagged and staples were loose and sloppily done. The incision became infected within 24 hours of bringing him home. I took him back for a check because of increased temp and the Vet said that the abnormal swelling was normal as well as the fever. After 2 days of my dog eating and throwing up everything along with black substance (which later found out was blood from his stomach. A result of which he was accidentally cut while in surgery), we took him back again. Again my husband and I were told this was normal. We continued to watch our dog suffer for the next 4 weeks at that time we put him to rest. It was not humane to let him continue suffering. The brutality and inhuman service that this man provided is unacceptable. I wish to be fully reimbursed plus his lisc. revoked.Desired Settlement: The initial $1,200.00 for cost of surgery plus another $5,000 for the cost of pain and suffering. I was so distraught that my work suffered and was no longer able to preform my duties for a total of 9 months. Also $400.00 for the youthinasia of my dog plus burial. I also request that the said called Vetrinarian should have his license revoked, both business and vetrinarian.
