I came home from work yesterday to a giant hole in front of my driveway from Gelder & Associates that kept me from accessing my house without notice.Date: 7/6/15Neighborhood: [redacted]Monday, July 6th, I returned home from work early in the afternoon to our entire street having the curb dug up in front of our houses. This caused complications for me and multiple neighbors as we were unable to pull into our driveway. I asked one of the Gelder workers and he told me to contact our HOA. Upon contacting our HOA, they told us that they were not responsible for contracting the work. Gelder, without notice to our neighborhood HOA or residents. The worker from Gelder said "we sent letters" which was false and when he knew I caught him in a lie, he told me they "went door to door this morning" while everyone was out at work. My driveway was inaccessible for the entire day yesterday and today because we now have to wait for the newly poured cement to dry. On top of this, after I spoke with the rep from Gelder, a giant hole appeared in my yard next to where they had conducted work. Now I am left with extensive damage to my front yard that will require professional help to repair. On top of this, when attempting to leave our house, workers would not let us pass on the street as if they were letting someone go by their truck. Instead, we were forced to turn around while they poured concrete into the newly dug holes and blocked the entire street with their equipment. This is completely unacceptable.On trying to contact the company, a gentleman answered and notified me that he is "the night man and everyone else has gone home." He recommended I try back tomorrow (today now) and now the phone line has been disconnected.Desired SettlementI would like a written and verbal apology from this company for their lack of notice on a project that affects homeowners and for the damages caused to personal property.
