He is a xxxxx. He collected advance and he never show up to do the work. He refused to pick my calls. Nobody should do business with him.

On Oct 17, 2019 We contacted MICHAEL*** and NOEL *** of GELREN RENOVATIONS, based on an facebook advertisement. They asked $20,000 for the basement renovation and told us to provide a $2500 deposit on the same day.
We signed a contract on Oct 24, 2019 and gave him $2500. But they never showed up for next 2 weeks. On Nov 10, 2019, they told us that we needed to pay another $2500 in order to start the work and to get the permit. But at the time of contract they told us that they will pull all the permits.We gave them $2500 and also agreed to pull the permits.
On Nov 13, 2019, NOEL *** came and started the framing. We were told on next day, Nov 14, 2019 by Mr., that the framing was completed and we need to pay $2000 for an electrician. We gave $2000 on Nov 14, 2019, until Nov 23, 2019, they were still working on the framing. They asked for another $2000. We refused to pay them because until then we paid them$7000 but still they were working on framing and no electrician or plumber showed up to work. They got angry and left our home with tools. Mr. also scared us by saying that if didn't pay him he will destroy all the framing.
In the mean time we tried calling Mr *** to resolve the matter.On Dec 6, 2019 Mr. and Mr. came to our home again to sign the new contract under the company name *** with improved payment plans. We paid them $2000 on that day. For next two weeks, Mr. kept telling us that electrician and plumber will come to work but nobody showed up. On Dec 21, 2019 the electrician showed up and worked 3-4 hours and left and did not come back. We tried calling Mr. but his number was now disconnected.
We had been trying to contact Mr. and Mr *** but they didn't respond. On Jan 8, 2020 Mr. called and told us that he and Mr. are no longer partners. He said that we would have to decide if we wanted finish the work with him or Mr. and again stopped responding leaving us helpless.

Noel *** owner of GelRen Renovations was recommended to us to do our basement. Our initial contract agreement was dated November 12, 2018. The agreement was that he will start in December 3, 2018 and finish the job in approximately 6-8 weeks depending on the permits. We gave him $10,800 as down payment and we agreed to pay $1500 as weekly progress payment which we paid to him via *** transfer. In addition to this, he has asked for an additional $2500 for the bathroom because it will be tiled and that was not part of the initial agreement. We paid him the $2500. We have paid him $23,800 in total as of today and he did not show up for work in the past 5 days. We noticed that he has been working half of the day only in most days before but we trusted him that he can finish it on time. We tried to contact him to ask about the status of our basement and the date off the city's re-inspection but he is unresponsive to our calls and text messages. The basement should have been done by April 2019 but until now it was only 45% done. We just wanted him to communicate with us properly and finish the basement by middle of May (the latest) because I have guests coming to stay with us.
