Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
It is obvious that there is a communication break down in this office. Dr. Ansert's response doesn't match the bill sent out to me, either. After over a decade of having a daughter who was chronically ill, I have been to a variety of doctors, numerous times. The point is not that I cannot afford the bill. Just bc I don't choose to have insurance doesn't mean I cannot afford insurance. I prefer to deal with doctor offices directly. Through all of these years, as far as I can remember, I haven't ever had a surprise bill from a doctor bc I always get my account information before I leave the doctor to make sure that I don't owe anything else. If I owe something else, I pay the amount right there. I don't like random unexpected bills. This is why I paid for the powersteps after the visit and asked if there was anything else that needed to be taken care of. The lady told me no. So, I am rejecting this response, not because I can't pay a little $38+ bill but bc I made it known that I wanted to pay anything I owed at the desk at the time of the visit, the bill is incorrect, the visit experience (detailed below), and the attitudes and responses of the people in this office concerning this account.visit experience:1. Three people, the doctor and two assistants, came in the room and two of them tried to pressure my daughter into getting shots in her feet. When she wasn't okay with that, they treated her like she was a coward. She didn't want them injecting her with a chemical that was most likely unhealthy and certain to have side-effects. 2. The Powersteps were cheap and weren't worth the time or the money. 3. He said my daughter would never improve and that she would get so bad that she would need surgery. What he didn't know is that through natural means, her feet have already improved quite a bit. We were referred to Dr. Ansert by a natropathic doctor's office. Our hopes were to get some natural health insight and encouragement. We didn't ever really bring any of that up because from the start of the appointment, it was pretty clear that his end result wasn't where my daughter is headed. When you look at the amount of people who get bunion surgery every year. It's a big business. A good doctor wants people to heal well, naturally. My opinion when I left that office was that surgery is his goal for his patients even though doctors and other people are proving that people can improve bunions naturally. I could say more about the visit and this situation but I think this pretty much sums it up.

The response made in reference to complaint ID [redacted], appears to be a new complaint. The firstcomplaint was in regards to a bill she received. Her complaint now is about her experience with theoffice.I'll start by addressing the bill again. There is no communication breakdown in our office. All employeesunderstand the self pay protocol. We apologize for any inconvenience the "surprise bill" has caused the-patient.As far as the experience, we apologize for any negativity she may have felt. However, bunions are a progressive disorder. They will continue to become increasingly prominent. I can assure you that Dr Ansert's goal is not for all patients to have surgery. He follows the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons guidelines, which does include an injection as a form of treatment. It is by no means unusual for a patient with a bunion, to receive a shot. If all forms of treatment are exhausted and the patient is still experiencing pain on a daily basis, it would be time to discuss different surgical options. We have several patients that have had positive results with Powerstep inserts. They are a great over the counter arch support remedy.Dr Ansert did try to offer Limbrel, which is a proprietary blend of natura ingredients. We are happy to hear that the patient was able to find relief in a natural way.Enclosed is a copy of a bunion handout and information on Limbrel.Regards,[redacted]

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the complaint ID [redacted]. The patient in reference was a self pay patient. Office policy is $100 cash for the office visit, to see the doctor. Any additional treatments can be paid in installments. We charge the Medicare allowable for procedures. The...

patient received 2Xrays and a pair of Powerstep inserts. Office Visit - $1001“Xray- $25,97 2"°Xray- $12.98Powersteps- $30The patients' total bill was $168.27. The patient paid $130 ($100 office visit and $30 for the powersteps)the day of service. We billed the remaining balance of $38.27 (Xrays). When the patient called in regards to this, it was explained to her that the amount she paid ($130) wasonly for the office visit and Powersteps. The amount due for the Xrays could be paid in installments, if needed. She said that she refused to pay the remaining balance. We advised her that if she didn't her account would be sent to collections. At this time, the patient still has a balance of $38.27 with Ansert Foot and Ankle. We mail 5 statementswhich includes the final notice, before the account is turned over to collections.Sincerely,[redacted]
