Revdex.com spoke with the business today and they have stated the following: The consumer purchased the vehicle on 6/20/with miles on it She called and made an apptto bring it in on Saturday 7/12/because she said she heard noises from the exhaust and possibly a leak She had it towed in We found that the catalytic converter was plugged We could also tell that the timing chain jumped on it, at that point the vehicle had miles on it which is miles past lemon law because the warranty was days or 1,miles When the timing chain jumps it will damage the cylinder heads We then got a used engine and put it in Once the engine was replaced, we took it for a test drive and the check engine light came We then found the error code showing that the converter was plugged which was causing back pressure into the engine Because the consumer continued to drive the vehicle with the plugged converter, that is what probably caused the timing chain to jump and cause damage to the engine We put a used engine in, replaced the catalytic converter and an oxygen sensor She was not charged for any of the repairs even though the vehicle was no longer under warranty Originally when she came in to buy the vehicle, it did have an exhaust leak and the exhaust manifold was fixed before it left our shop when she purchased the vehicleShe did drive the vehicle again before purchase to verify that the exhaust manifold was fixed and she did take it to her mechanic Her mechanic told her that it could use tires and rear shocks, so we also provided new rear shocks and new tires before she took delivery of the vehicle The consumer thought that the issue she was having with the vehicle was the same as when she purchased the vehicle, (exhaust leak) so we are not blaming the consumer for the issues that occurred

Response taken over the phone: The customer wanted to purchase Chevy Equinox It needed work before he could take possession It took about days to complete the work I even supplied a loner car in the interim We tried many times to contact the him, left several messages and even drove by his house but he did not respond We then had no obligation to hold the car so we sold it We have told him numerous times, he could get his deposit back We are mailing a check for his deposit today We no longer appreciate his business

Revdex.com spoke with the business today and they have stated the following:
The consumer purchased the vehicle on 6/20/14 with 87662 miles on it.  She called and made an appt. to bring it in on Saturday 7/12/14 because she said she heard noises from the exhaust and possibly a leak.  She...

had it towed in.  We found that the catalytic converter was plugged.  We could also tell that the timing chain jumped on it, at that point the vehicle had 89349 miles on it which is 700 miles past lemon law because the warranty was 30 days or 1,000 miles.  When the timing chain jumps it will damage the cylinder heads.  We then got a used engine and put it in.  Once the engine was replaced, we took it for a test drive and the check engine light came.  We then found the error code showing that the converter was plugged which was causing back pressure into the engine.  Because the consumer continued to drive the vehicle with the plugged converter, that is what probably caused the timing chain to jump and cause damage to the engine.
We put a used engine in, replaced the catalytic converter and an oxygen sensor.  She was not charged for any of the repairs even though the vehicle was no longer under warranty.
Originally when she came in to buy the vehicle, it did have an exhaust leak and the exhaust manifold was fixed before it left our shop when she purchased the vehicle. She did drive the vehicle again before purchase to verify that the exhaust manifold was fixed and she did take it to her mechanic.  Her mechanic told her that it could use 2 tires and 2 rear shocks, so we also provided 2 new rear shocks and 4 new tires before she took delivery of the vehicle.  The consumer thought that the issue she was having with the vehicle was the same as when she purchased the vehicle, (exhaust leak) so we are not blaming the consumer for the issues that occurred.

miles whichever comes first. The extended warranty he has does not cover lines. As a goodwill option we repaired the vehicle at a subtaintially reduced rate, of which Mr. [redacted] agreed that hewould make payments on the repair we performed. We expect payments to be made as agreed upon. Payments commence on 11/03/2015.Sincerely,Gene W[redacted]
