At this time, I have not been contacted by General Appliance Service, Inc. regarding complaint ID ***Previously they offered me partial payment for the labor they did not do correctly. But the removed parts and never replaced with proper parts nor did they return my original parts which were apparently not broken. They are the ones who told me they replaced with wrong parts and were going to get correct parts. After six months of waiting for this to be corrected, they called and said not going to fix--get someone else.

 A woman from the office (names [redacted]) called to see if I had received a check they supposedly sent in the amount of $120 to refund me for their service charge, which I did not and told her the same.  Still no resolution regarding all the parts they took out of my refridgerator and never returned which were not necessary to replace. The [redacted] ([redacted]) even said they replaced them with the wrong parts and was supposed to get the correct ones-then instead had [redacted] call me to say he decided not to fix my fridge anymore. That was after Iwaited 6 months for him to get the parts.  He asked me to wait since he was having an issue with his partner.  Told him wear and tear on my fridge with the wrong parts and didnt want to wait from day one but he didnt care!!!

Review: This company came to take my stove, that was damaged in Hurricane Sandy, in June of 2013. I paid them $ 500.00 (check) as a deposit for repairs on June **, 2013. I have continually been told they are waiting for parts. Needless to say, I still do not have my stove. They sent me an invoice today for $ 400.00 for "delivery for a Viking used stove." They will not comment if the stove is functional and will not deliver it without an additional $ 400.00. I do not know if the stove is indeed fixed. If this brand item is beyond their capabilities, it should have never been removed from my home. Thanksgiving is 2 weeks away and it does not seem like we will be able to host our family. We have been asking since August for our stove and all we have gotten is story after story.Desired Settlement: I want my $ 500.00 deposit back as I have no proof of repairs. I will not pay an additional $ 400.00 for "delivery" and want my stove back. There was no mention of "delivery" charges when the item was removed from my home and certainly $ 400.00 is an outrageous amount.

Review: On 12/[redacted]/13 General Appliance came to our apartment to fix our stove that wasn't working. Upon inspection, the tech and owner said the pilot was bad and said it needed to be replaced and that it would cost $130. We agreed to the repair and it was done on the spot. The first time we used the stove after the repair we had to call the fire department because the stove would not shut off, there was a gas smell, and the stove and area around it were burning up. The smell was terrible. When the fire department came they said that they caught it just in time because the house could of caught fire, their speed getting to our place saved us. They also called con-ed to come shut off the gas. We called General Appliance to tell them what happened and left countless voicemails , no one called up back. We called again and finally and they made an appointment for 12/[redacted]/13 2PM. I left work so I can be at home for the appointment. When no one showed up, I called the tech at 2:30PM to ask what's going on he said he would her here in 45 minutes. Still a no show. I call him back multiple times this time there was no answer. I called the office and they said "he was busy" and that he was coming a bit later. Still no one came and I tried calling again with no answer on any of their telephone numbers. They never showed up. Worst service I ever experienced in my life. They called us the next day (not even an attempt to apologize was made) and said the tech would be here at 11AM to check the stove, again I left work to be there so we can get this issue fixed. Upon inspection of the stove, the owner and tech said our oven needs a new thermostat and it would cost $250! So now the $130 initial repair turns into $380! When I asked him how is it possible that you repair the stove, and the next time we turn it on it has a broken thermostat, smells of gas and almost burns down the house. He was unable to answer the question and said he can sell us a used stove for $250! What?!? I was beyond disgusted and told him I didn't want to deal with him anymore. I called him a short while after he left the house and told him I wanted a refund for the initial faulty repair. He initially refused, and after arguing with him, he said he would give us half of our money back. I suggested he come remove whatever part he installed in the store and give me back a full refund since we feel it wasn't properly done and we now need to get a new stove since repairing it for $380 is out of the question. He declined and said he would only refund half of our money. He said he would mail us a check and that "we should call his office in the morning to give them the information to so they can write us a check". This was over a week ago and we've been getting the run around the entire time. When we call the office, no one knows what we are talking about and says they will call us back, no one ever does. In a final attempt I called the tech and owner expressing my disappointment, he blamed use for not getting a refund claiming we never went to his office to pick you the money. First that was never our agreement, and second, if every time we call no one knows anything about the issue how are we going to get our money back even if we go to the office? He then said "I may have forgotten to tell my office about the issue, and I'll give your money back" and he hung up the phone on me.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for $130 that we spent on the initial repair. It's the least they could do after all they put me and my family through during the holidays. I've never dealt with more unprofessional people in my entire life. Not to mention the two days I had to take off work to deal with this issue, one of which he never showed up costing me a full day's salary for nothing. I also had to go out and buy a new stove and had to have the old one discarded. Worst of all, the danger of my house almost catching fire is too hard to even think about it. Additionally, If he had properly diagnosed and tested the stove during the initial repair and told us it would cost $380 to repair, $130 plus $250 we would have never agreed to the repair.

Review: This is second time I am filing this complaint-never got confirmation nor response from my first complaint. This company came to repair my refridgerator in October of 2013. They put in several parts (which I now know were unnecessary). The last part they replace was my circuit board-which they said they put the wrong one in. They werent supposed to take my original with them but they did at which point I told them I wanted it back. After six months of calling repeatedly and having wear and tear to my fridge with wrong parts and still not working properly, [redacted] had his secretary [redacted] call to say he would not come back to fix it!!! This was after I waited six months. She told me he said to get someone else to fix it. I did and the part cost $10 plus labor but since he took my original circuit board which was not the issue at hand, I had to replace that which was another $185. I already paid [redacted] $310. Therefore, I want to be reimbursed as I was promised if my fridge was not working when they were done!!!Desired Settlement: Total refund of $565--which covers the money I paid them to put in all the incorrect parts and never finish the job and the money I had to pay to replace the original circuit board that they removed from my refridgerator and never returned and replaced with the incorrect part--(which they outwardly admitted)

Review: Waiting six months for them to get a part for my refridgerator. Paid $310 already. [redacted] said he put wrong part in. Now says he isnt coming back to fix nor returning my money--Costing me more money to have someone else fix it. [redacted] guaranteed me that he would fix or replace all original parts and refund money-doing neither!!!!!!!!!! Since waiting since October for him to complete this repair, it has caused unneccesary wear to my refridgerator--Wasnt going into defrost and constantly building ice due to incorrect part he put in. Not only unreasonable time to repair--the repair was never made--replaced unbroken parts and told me he put the wrong circuit board in and was getting a new one--waited months --now he refused to complete and/or correct his errors!!!Desired Settlement: Refund my money and pay also for circuit board they took of mine and replace with incorrect one (that wasnt even the what was wrong with my fridge--but he replaced it with incorrect part -which he admitted doing). I therefore had to buy another circuit board costing me an additional $185 to replace the one he took from me. So total he owes me is $310 paid to him plus $185 that I had to pay for another circuit board since he took mine with him!!!
