Remember, this was from his mistake to begin with and we were gracious enough to work with his errorAlso the screens to the deck are not removable or in frames which is how every screened in enclosed deck or porch I've ever seen in my years has beenBut the screens are stapled inSo it will be up to me to install frames, which is how it should have been done by a professional to begin withMy error for not explaining what we felt was the obvious He completed the job (with no flower box access mind you) and all that was left to do was to run the gutters around the project which was part of the contract and estimateHe requested payment saying, "I'll have my gutter guy out here next week to finish with the gutters." Owner and operator Dave K [redacted] did not finish my home he was hired to buildI had to pay out of pocket to finish my home He has not repaid me for my expenses to finish my homeHe did not honor the contract we signed before the house was builtI ended up paying MrK [redacted] $more than the contract statedHe has shown poor character and business ethics in this matter

David comes in and gives you a bid on a job and then asks for half of the bided amount up front to buy supplies for the job He then never shows up when he says he is going to and when you call to ask what's going on, he has an excuse every time on why he didn't make it Also, he never calls you, you have to call him After this situation went on for months, I called to ask him to just return my mother's money so we could get someone else to do the job He even suggested returning the money before I asked That's when we kept getting told the check is in the mail After another 1/months of getting jerked around like that, I called the Indiana State Police and reported him to them Next, the ISP called and talked to him My year old widowed mother finally got her money returned days later with the help of the ISP

Owner and operator Dave K[redacted] did not finish my home he was hired to build. I had to pay out of pocket to finish my home . He has not repaid me for my expenses to finish my home. He did not honor the contract we signed before the house was built. I ended up paying Mr. K[redacted] $4300 more than the contract stated. He has shown poor character and business ethics in this matter.

Was quick to estimate job of a second story screened in porch addition to our home. Upon receipt of a $4,000.00 + deposit we were promised the job to begin in 4 weeks from the payment while he ordered the trusses for the project. The date came and went without any contact from [redacted] General Contractors Unlimited Bloomfield Indiana. After three phone calls were never returned he picked up the phone on the fourth on an early Saturday morning. He claimed at that point that he was going to get the trusses in making a very lame excuse for not contacting us. He did not claim that the order was late or anything else on the order of the trusses which lead us to believe that he didn't even have them ordered yet. He claimed one more week. Once again, we never heard from in two weeks. We phoned a few more times over a few more weeks. Finally he said the next Monday. We did not hear from him or that he would be late (at any point in time) but did indeed show up later than the day promised. Actually I was about to get on the phone to contact our lawyer to get our deposit back and have someone else do the work when he showed up. Talk about timing.
He evidently miscalculated the placement as part of a two story enclosed deck bi-sected our kitchen window instead of running off the side of it. He pointed out that he would place a flower box there for us. Since the two story uprights and deck proper was in, he couldn't move it without tearing it all out. To be nice we agreed to the flower box as long as we were able to reach it easily. He readily agreed. Remember this is a two story deck. He placed the enclosed portion on the deck proper and staircase. When I asked how he had planned on us reaching the flower box the answer was, "a ladder". I said that my wife is in her 60's and I have bad arthritis in my knees and we were not going to climb a ladder to get to the flower box and that we thought he was going to make it reachable from the deck proper via a removable portion or access door. His reply was, "That's going to cost you more." Remember, this was from his mistake to begin with and we were gracious enough to work with his error. Also the screens to the deck are not removable or in frames which is how every screened in enclosed deck or porch I've ever seen in my 55 years has been. But the screens are stapled in. So it will be up to me to install frames, which is how it should have been done by a professional to begin with. My error for not explaining what we felt was the obvious.
He completed the job (with no flower box access mind you) and all that was left to do was to run the gutters around the project which was part of the contract and estimate. He requested payment saying, "I'll have my gutter guy out here next week to finish with the gutters." Against my better judgement I paid him for the job thinking, who in their right mind would leave this uncompleted. Any water damage done is going to cost him more than getting out here to complete the job.
Well, it's been over 4 weeks and several phone calls and our gutters are not on and we already have 1' hole from the water run off near our basement foundation.
I am continuing to try to get him to complete the work with another week of calls. After that I'm afraid that we must file a legal complaint against [redacted] General Contractors Unlimited of Bedford Indiana.
While the deck looks nice, the quality is about 2 1/2 on a scale of 1-5.
So this has been and continues to be a very unpleasant experience.
Very unprofessional and very poor business ethic.
