On Sunday evening 12/11/*** went to the *** home for a “No Heat” call. When *** arrived “***” had just changed the filter because of the furnace having no heat. When *** arrived, the high limit had not tripped. All of the safeties were closed, so it did not
appear it had overheated. He found volts going into the board and none coming out and recommend a new board. He call *** *** the Service Supervisor to see if he had missed anything and *** believed he had covered all of his bases *** received a call later in the evening from *** stating that they had called another Tech from another company and the furnace was now working and they did not replace the board. We believe the service call was solid, requiring hours of the Technicians time including drive time. The old filter had been changed right before *** arrived, so he did not see it General Heating stands behind the call and will credit customer $ Sincerely,

Review: The technician came to fix our air conditioner, and at no point did he mention or even allow us to discuss the cost of the part he was replacing. On the invoice, the company charged $96 for a component that sells for $20 to $30. This is in addition to the labor fees, which were already high. There are other complaints about General Heating and Air Conditioning charging a ridiculous markup, and I wish we would have seen them before contacting this company. Charging a 300-400% markup on an item in addition to a $114 labor fee for 15 minutes of work, without disclosing the price of the item or its nature during the work is unethical.Desired Settlement: Refund the $66 price difference between what they charged us and the highest market rate for the component they supplied.

The markup of our parts is is not out of line we as as company have to cover our overhead and warranty and shipping of the part as well as stocking an inventory of many differet parts.
Our charges are right in line with the industry.
