Signed contract April 26th, 2019, today is November 26th, 2019 and the company has failed inspection 3 times and refuse to fix the issues. To be upfront and be very clear , General Impact should not be trusted. Everything they say is a lie. First they removed all of my existing shutters on July 3rd 2019 stating they were ready to start the install, then told me the company ordered all of the glass without the proper Low-E coating on the glass. This was delaying the install by 2 months. I went nearly 3 months without hurricane shutters in the heart of hurricane season. When Hurricane Dorian was approaching South Florida, I began to contact them over and over again. Their response repeatedly was "we should say our prayers." Seriously, that was their response, and I have screen printed documentation to prove it. After asking 25-30 times when they were going to start, throughout July, August and September. No responses. Finally they delivered the equipment on Monday September 16th throwing it in my garage carelessly. Then they demanded the next payment and refused to start the install until I paid them the second payment. With 90% of the money given to General Impact, the equipment sits in my garage and they show up with two people to do 29 openings including six 8 foot sliding glass doors. The two workers finally begin. They work for 3 days and get four openings done. They then pack up and tell me that they aren't getting paid by General Impact and they aren't working the job anymore. I throw a fit with the company and they send another team of installers meanwhile we had to wait another week. Now they have three people show up to do the job. Guess what? They get 3 openings done and do say the same thing" "they weren't getting paid" and they were packing up. "Pastor isn't paying us" they said. Pastor is part of the installation department and manages the sub contractors. Clearly after the second team of installers leave and stated they weren't getting paid, I demanded an explanation as to why General Impact wasn't paying the installer after collecting 90% of my contracted amount. Finally, after demanding an answer, the installers miraculously come back and say they were finally paid by another affiliated party, not Pastor. At this point, I'm furious but have no control over the situation. I just want my windows and doors installed. After three weeks of watching terrible work and seeing the final installed product, I knew something was very wrong. 70% of the openings were miss-measured and they were putting 2x4's around all of my windows that are extremely noticeable. I called the City of Pembroke Pines and asked for their structural inspectors to come out and take a look. They were in my home for 5 seconds and immediately placed a "Stop Work Violation" on the entire permit. When the General Impact's owner (***) came out to my house, he also agreed it looked terrible stating he would take care of it. That was Saturday, October 19th and it is now November 26th. General impact has met with inspectors two additional times and failed inspection miserably. The city has demanded repair permits twice and they have failed to execute. Currently my house has been left with windows and doors that are incredibly too small for the openings. This leaves me with water penetration, insulation issues, wire lathe exposed on every opening, and sliding glass doors that barely slide correctly. This has been nothing short of a nightmare. If they don't reorder my windows and doors to the correct sizes, I will have no choice but to handle this civilly.

Desired Outcome

General Impact needs to replace 70% of the windows and doors they ordered. They are refusing to order them and keep failing inspection because of it. Every opening that was miss-measured needs to be ordered again to fit the correct opening size, not 2 inches off in every direction.

Response to their ridiculous response.

This is unacceptable.

I am not going to keep going back and forth. They have ruined my home. They are liars. I can't keep going through the back and forth with them. What rights do I have with Revdex.com? It seems like you are only trying to protect the company and not the consumer.

General Impact Glass & Windows did not deliver the work within the time promised (July 2018) although I paid usd *** in advance
I advanced $ *** for impact windows to be installed no later than July. The product was not delivered yet and I am not receiving answers about the status nor refund

Desired Outcome

To whom this may concern:

General Impact Glass & Window Corp. entered an executed contract/agreement with Ms. *** on April 18, 2018. During this time, we have had email communication with her regarding the process of her order and installation.

As you may already know we are in the peak of hurricane season. Many of our suppliers have encountered an excessive amount of work causing a delay on many of our orders. During this past 10 weeks we have also experienced many rain showers and thunder storms. As a window installation company we cannot remove windows and re-install windows under those weather conditions. Many factors need to be taken into consideration when it comes to the installation of Impact Glass and Windows.

In addition to this the condominium *** was placed on HOLD for a few weeks because condo associations have monthly meetings to approve or disapprove any tenants request to alter, renovate, and/or improve their units. This is a process that is necessary in order to move forward.

At this time, our installers are working on completing two units at this building. Our installation team has contacted Ms. in the hopes of getting her installation scheduled for September 17th but because the installation might take more than a week we are unable too. Unfortunately, Ms. will be going on vacation starting September 22 -October 6 and we are unable to install the windows and doors at her unit until October 8, 2018. In addition, we had advised her that if someone would be at the unit during the week of September 17th we may continue to work and complete the job before she returns from vacation. Ms. never replied to our emails.

We have all email communication if necessary.

Very happy with the work. Good quality and price.

General Impact Glass & Windows Corp in an outstanding company in all aspects. From sales to engineering to production and installation. My spouse and I selected General Impact in 2013 because it was Revdex.com accredited and no other Impact Window business was. We had about $14,000 in windows and door, material and labor spanning 2013, 2017 and 2018. Noteworthy is the quality of the windows, the thoroughness of the sale, engineers, production and installers. The installer were professionals-always cleaning up the job site and eye of detail finishing up the job. Sales and administration followed up on our questions by phone and email. My neighbors noticed the work. We recommended General Impact for business in the association. Another quality American company-well done.! .

Company's product is excellent quality. Installation services could be improved and better organized.

Magnificent work, quality and completion, fulfilled all my expectations, I will make recommendations of this company to people who need this service I am very happy

Horrible customer service! Delay delivery, with not even a phone call of explanation. I ordered a door in June. They told me 6-8 weeks. It's November and nothing yet. They tried to deliver it at the beginning of October and had scratches and a big dent.
