We will be willing to spend hour to check the truck more time at our Hinkley Oh location at no chargeif we determine that the complaint of the wheel drive not working was not caused by the replacement of the flywheel and starter the customer will need to decide if he wishes for us to continue troubleshooting and repair at his expenseThank You
Good Afternoon,The customer brought his truck to us to have the flywheel and starter replaced. No other repairs were requested. To replace the flywheel we removed the transmission and transfer case as a assembly, the only item we disconnected concerning the wheel drive was to unplug the actuator. The
shift lingage clip was removed to remove the shift cable from the transmission. Both the actuator plug and the shift cable clip were re-installed after the transmission/transfer case was installed. The customer picked up the truck and called the next day to say that the truck would not start.I suggested he check the batteries ,he agreed saying that one battery was newer and was not sure how old the other battery was -he replaced the battery and got the truck startedThe Customer Also Complained about the wheel drive not working and the shift indicator in the dash was off.I asked him to bring he truck back so we could check it out.We checked the plug on the wheel drive actuator and found it properly installed. We also checked the shift linkage clip to find it properly installed. As a courtesy we checked the fuses and wiring for the wheel drive .The problem with the shift indicator we believe is in the shift column or dash -we did notice another shift lever in the cab-possibly there has been a problem with the shifter previously.I called the customer and explained that we checked all the work we had done and found nothing that related to his complaints. He said he had a friend that was familiar with the wheel drive system and I suggested he take it to him.We did not charge the customer any additional to check the truck over. The customer never ask us for any refund. The customer came and got his truck without coming is to speak to me or ask if he owed anything for us checking out the truck .The technician the worked on the customers truck has over years experience and is one of out best technician.Should you need any further information please feel free to contact usThank You***
I am rejecting this response because: why would I PAY to have it repaired ? everthing conected to the trany and transfer case 4x4 would be part of the job IS IT NOT ? I allready know no power is going through the system wws is due to a short in the system.if this is going to cost me more money then I want a refund in full or my truck will be repaired at a ford dealer costing 135.oo an hour plus my atterney fee of 500.oo an hour when I sue them...im done having them jerk me around this is a shop truck used for a bussness. I may even rent a truck and send them that bill also. bottom line if you take on a job you should know what your doing not pass blame on the customer saying the 4x4 never worked in the 1st place and I have proof it did work, before it was taken apart...they would not even give me a reason why,its not working.now who does that ?
