General Oil of Quaker Hill, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: On December 3rd, 2013 General Oil performed a basic tune up for an Oil furnace. This action included changing the oil filter which is connected in close proximity to the tank.Over the next 24 hrs I smelled a scent of oil while upstairs.I assumed it was from whatever service activity that took place and thought nothing more. Overnight I smelled a scentof oil that grew increasingly worse. I woke up to discover several gallons of oil that had leaked from a pinhole in the vicinity of the pipe joint thatmeets the filter line from which a valve had been removed by the serviceman. I did not authorize this service nor is listedon the bill from General oil and at the time of the service there was NO evidence of any oil leak whatsoever from the tank.I called General Oil and asked that someone come immediately to fix the steady leak of oil thatflowed from my tank. I took pictures of the oil covered basement floor as well as the originationof the leak. The leak was less than of an inch from the joint connecting the valveand filter which had been worked by General Oil the previous day.The original service person came to my house about 30 minutes after I called General Oil.I told Al I had no intention of paying for a mistake made by him. He admitted to meI would be taken care and stated emphatically it was his fault. He also acknowledged that there was no signof oil leaking from the tank when he performed his tune up.He soon learned he didnt have the experience needed to resolve the issue and called [redacted] his coworker for help. When [redacted] arrived he looked at the issue and called the owner [redacted] looked at the leak source and rudely denied any responsibility stating the leakcame from an area far from the source of stress placed on the valve/filter line which connected totank joint adjacent to the leak. He told me the leak was .5-3/4 away from the joint. By Mr. [redacted] admission the leak source was adjacent to the source of the work and not 2-3 inches or feet away.Desired Settlement: I expect General Oil to pay for the monetary damages caused by their inexperienced service personin the full amount of $1500.00 and waive the tune up charge which lead to the damage. If no agreementcan be reached with [redacted] and General Oil I am prepared to pursue the matter through the legal process
