To whom it may concern:
We did install the new plumbing in this house. We have been in business since 1984 and follow all local codes and laws.
At time of installation this house had to have a "topout" test put on at frame inspection. Topout test definition: Water is filled in...
all the waste and vent plumbing system from front cleanouts, under the slab and through the roof.
With this being in the basement it would have had a lot of pressure on the line where the crack was located. If it was cracked at time of installation that would have leaked for sure. Also this line is on the discharge side of the sump ejector. With the volume and pressure coming out of the discharge of that pump "IF" this was cracked at time of installation and supposedly "glued" closed with the vibration and the volume and pressure that crack would have showed itself way before 6 years. We as professionals also know that glue would never seal a crack as that is not the intention of [redacted] glue.
We stand by our decision that this crack was not made by us and we did not try to glue it to make an attempt to fix it as: 1) we know it wouldn't seal 2) it would have never passed inspection. We will not be refunding any monies.
When disputes like this arise the builder would normally get involved. But in their case the builder is Bankrupt and that is why they are trying to get us to pay for the damages.
Thank you and feel free to call an discuss this further if I did not satisfactorily answer this complaint.
