Mechanic failed to properly repair my truck , he lied numerous times about working on my truck.
Charged me for labor , for work not completed .
He failed to warranty his work or fix repeat issues.
My truck broke down the first day , I picked it up.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) Loss Wages and additional Towing Fees , repairs paid out to another repair shop to correct his work.

General Truck Repair Response • Mar 14, 2020

The customer brought in a truck he had recently purchased at an auction. It was towed into our shop not running. We diagnosed the truck and made an estimate. In the process of repairing the truck our certified mechanic found a piece of metal signaling a much more serious issue. We notified the customer and supplied them with pictures and got the approval to complete the necessary repairs. We installed new parts from the manufacturer and reassembled the truck. The truck ran and was even test driven by a friend of the customer before he picked it up. The customer paid the bill and drove away in the truck. Some time later the customer complained of an issue "under his hood" and would not give any specifics, demanding we send someone to look at his truck at his house. I offered to have the truck towed at our expense to our shop. We went as far as to allow him to send the truck to another mechanic and pay the bill for anything that we worked on, he refused. We did not hear from the customer again until this complaint was filed. He contacted his credit card company and had the amount paid charged back, its currently in dispute and was deducted from our business bank account. In my opinion he is angry because the credit card company has sided with our company that we provided an excellent service and he wanted to receive his money back. I stand behind the product and work provided, we morally offered to reconcile any issue and were never provided the opportunity to do so. We have no previous complaints with any customers and stand by our work 100 percent. Thank you for providing us the opportunity to voice our side of this situation. Feel free to contact me with any further questions!
Thanks!

Customer Response • Mar 16, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
The complaint is not about the Credit Card company dispute etc . It is about loss wages due to my truck not being completed in the time line agreed upon by myself and General truck repair. My truck was placed directly back in to a repair shop the day after I picked it up which General truck repair is aware of. The diagnostic from the New repair shop ,determined my pressure issue was not resolved. Where the truck was purchased from is not relevant , General truck repair completed a diagnostic and accepted the job based on the work that needed to be completed.

My truck was purchased from Greensboro Auto sales , title, NC inspection etc all available at request.

He did not stand behind his work , he refused to provide me a detail receipt/invoice. I have my receipts from the from the new repair shop which validates the work listed on General truck repair shop was not done. Except the fact he installed new parts over a problem.

The fact that General truck repair claims I drove away in the sunset and he never heard from me until this complain now is a lie. I have txt messages and phone details to show other wise along with a couple of emails.

Although the funds have been credit back to my credit card , it does not resolve the loss wages, nor the additional money that had to be paid for towing or for another mechanic to go behind Generals truck repair and correctly fix my pressure issue.

On Tuesday Oct 29th AJ D Spoke with William C at 1:36pm. He explained to William , my oil compression is low and I am currently in Gaston S.C and I was informed the repair cost would be $4,300. On 11/12/2019 at 4:50pm I texted William asking for a status up , he replied at 5:48pm informing me he had the truck put back together and was going to let the battery charge over night and get it started up in the morning(11/13/19)..I replied okay sounds good.

On 11/13/2019 I informed Will at 1:11pm I would be in on the 11/14/19 to pick my truck up.

On 11/14/2019 I arrived at 10:54am to pick up my truck. He informed me , my truck has a 10-15sec delay to start. He has a part on its way and to bring my truck back by for him put it on. It would only take 5min , I expressed the following concerns to William once we started up my truck. It took multiple attempts to start my truck with a key. When the truck did not start , he sprayed starter fluid in my intake to start it. One it was started heavy white smoke came from my exhaust-I asked William why the white smoke , he replied it was cold . He mentioned to me to buy starter fluid and keep a can in the truck, he asked me if I leave my truck in ideal when park. I informed him not when I loading why ....??? My truck is not going to need starter fluid to start it or have a hard time starting up. He replied no !

(On 11/19/2019 I spoke with William at 9am via phone to confirm he was still coming out. William informed me , one of the guys who works for him. Had to go out on a call , I informed William that's unacceptable based on me already paying him and I am back unable to operate the first day I go out and my oil is still an issue. He needs to pay for my truck to be towed because the original job was never fixed. I also informed him , I can't trust him with all the broken commitments and lack of communication, he could not tell me when he could work on my truck etc.

I informed him , I need a itemized receipt which should have been provided to me at the time of payment showing me the parts he ordered with invoices matching the dates he told etc. He failed to provide me with the requested information.)

On 11/19/2019 I had to get my truck and trailer towed $200,$275

Osorio's auto service conducted a diagnostic and informed, I am in having compression issues which is preventing my truck from starting. )

This request was made for warranty purposes, tax purposes, validate financial the total charge. Original agreement was $3,200.00 at the time of pick up without my knowledge I was charged an additional $1,100.00 for a total of $4,300.00.
