Review: My union insurance benefit plan entitles me to an eye exam and frames up to $200, and various surcharges depending on what I require. I decided I would try progressive lenses last year. Their sales person [redacted] informed me that my lenses and glasses would cost a total of $285 and she had never heard of my insurance plan. After purchase I immediately had buyers remorse and contacted my union to say I think I had payed too much money. I have several glasses from other locations that charged me $35 max. A store rep called me to advise that the insurance did not cover my "special" progressive lenses. They came to an agreement, begrudgingly. As I could not get used to them, to get two pairs of regular glasses for the money and I was happy with the resolution. Not one year has passed and one of the frames has broken. When I went to the store to see if they would replace or repair the glasses, again it was a week shy of a year, [redacted] told me since I did not insure them I would have to pay $150. She said the frames cost $300 but she was giving me a discount. I asked if they had a warranty for their product. I asked to speak to the [redacted] who was irate, rude and totally unprofessional and told me as I had not insured them I had to pay for new frames. She told me we tell everyone to buy insurance because they are shoddy frames and prone to breaking. I said you charge $300 for shoddy frames?? as I tried to get her to offer me a fair price for the frames she went down to $125, I said I didn't feel like I was treated fairly and asked if she would consider lowering the price. I asked If I came in to the store as a new client wouldn't my union benefit cover $200 and asked if she would consider $100. That's when [redacted] threw me out of the store. She said I'm not talking to you about this anymore. I am appalled that she has treated a customer so poorly and will get away with it. They obviously have a practice of price gouging and taking advantage of their clientele. They operate like a used car lot.Desired Settlement: I was willing to pay, but now after how they have treated me. and the embarrassment of being thrown out of an establishment that I have spent good money in. I want them to replace the frames free of charge since they do not stand behind their "shoddy" products.

Review: Two problems with this [redacted]:

1. the advertised priced with coupons is not honored, or clear. The [redacted], is dishonest about prices. Today,he told me contact lens exams cost $90, when they charge $75. He refused to honor my coupon which advertised a contact lens exam and two boxes of contacts for $99. When I asked him to refund the difference of $24 (since he wouldn't give me the contacts, I just wanted to pay for the exam) he said the price for a contact exam was $90, not the $75 he charges EVERYONE ELSE. This is not only false advertising, but has led to my loss of buisness and precipitated my companint to the Revdex.com.

2. the exam room is filthy. The contact lens case given to me upon exam to put my lenses in was dusty and had a hair on it. Every other time I've had my eyes examined, a brand new sterile case has been given to me to use, most times along with a new bottle of solution (clearly given for free to the [redacted] via the solutions companies).Desired Settlement: I wish for the company to CLARIFY in their advertising that the coupon for eye exam/2 boxes of lenses for $99 only applies to CS contacts and NO OTHER BRAND and for them to list accurately and honestly their prices for services, including eye exams. I also wish for them to refund me $24, which is the difference in price for exam (the only thing I received, not the contacts advertised) and the $99 I paid.

I can also furnish a copy of the coupon if necessary.

Review: This location has salespeople that are very unprofessional and ghetto. They have insulted me when I declined purchasing a $600 pair of glasses for my 10 year old son, they misrepresented the amount of the glasses and falsified billing information. The women [redacted] and [redacted] are very pushy and disrespectful. I came there as a family of 4 to have eye exams and obtain glasses for my family and I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN. I will reach out to The World Trade Commission to file proper complaints. I will advertise my dissatisfaction with this location and these representatives of Cohen publicly and in every forum that I may access. I intend to contact the managers and owners and CORPORATE. I am a constituent of the NYS Senate and I am appalled at the customer service and lack of courtesy and professionalism at COHENS FASHION OPTICAL AT [redacted] alongside of Port Authority Terminal. They have been utterly disgraceful and I want my money back.Desired Settlement: I would like for the money to be refunded to me that was supposed to be processed through my insurance, yet my insurance does not have any claim on file which means they were just trying to take my money. I don't appreciate the treatment my family got and I need to speak with Corporate about these individuals

Review: I made a yearly eye check up appointment for my mother with [redacted] on February [redacted], 2015. This was our first time going to this business. We ordered two eye glasses (reading and distance). We paid $270 with debit card and they told us that they will call us once the glasses are done. One week later, we got a phone call. When we got there and saw the glasses, the lenses were placed in wrong frames,so we asked them to switch the lenses to right frames. About 7-10 days later, we got a phone call saying that the glasses are fixed correctly. I went to pick them up, brought them back to my mother and find out that this time, they had placed two reading lenses into two frames. We were very upset and I called the business and spoke to the [redacted] named [redacted]. I asked for refund and explained the dissatisfaction of their service. He said, as per their policy, they cannot refund the money and only can give store credit. Then I made an appointment on March [redacted] Saturday with the [redacted] to speak to him in person. When I got there to talk to the [redacted], he was not there and he came 1hour later from our appointment time. While waiting, I asked the older gentleman who is in charge of taking care of the lenses to see the record of the eye exam and the prescription information, he told me that he cannot find the file, which does not make sense. Finally, [redacted] came and I was extremely upset. I asked nicely again that I want refund. Once again, he said no and told me that he will fix them himself this time and will mail them to me. I gave my name and address and left the place. The problem is, I did not get those glasses even after 7 days later. I went there on Monday [redacted] to follow up what had happened. [redacted] told me that he sent them out on tuesday the [redacted] and it will take about 5-7 business days. I am filing formal complaint to Revdex.com because I still did not get those glasses that should have been here by now, which is already 8th days later from [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would like to get the full refund of $270 dollars for the glasses and prescription information. The yearly eye exam is covered by the insurance, therefore, it should not be charged from the amount of $270.

Review: purchased eyeglasses 1/**/14 {union referred} I am repeat customer. wore glasses one and half month could never see clearly and had headaches from wearing.Went back they admitted giving wrong perception.Told me to leave glasses they would change and would be two weeks. I told them I would need them because I am going on vacation they said no problem. Well three weeks go by I start calling store get many promises when day comes no glasses. This goes on 4 times.I ask for [redacted] to speak with they put lady who sold me the glasses {550.00 dollars } I said I need them in two days because I am leaving she said she can't say for sure.I said please put [redacted] you sold me these. Why because I am black I can't be [redacted]. I ended call and called main office spoke with [redacted] she spoke to store and got back on and said the only way I can get glasses if sign paper that I will not come back to store.

Review: Iam a insured consumer. I came in with my daughter for an eye exam and purchase of glasses under the terms and cost guidelines of my union. Once my daughter and I picked out glasses that were 50% off making each of our glasses $144 each (we have coverage up to $250 each) . we were charged for upgrades to the glasses at much higher amounts or in which my union covers and have supplied coupons for $50 for each memeber towards upgrades to glasses. Ex: transition I was charged $150 when under my coverage states I pay $40 and protection for my child's glasses which are free under ny insurance..I was also told I would have to pay $389 out of pocket by the [redacted] for our glasses because we weren't entitled to the 50% off or those glasses because they are for uninsured people only. (There is no signs posted stating any glasses are for uninsured ppl only). Left the store humiliated and e mbarrased and most importantly without glasses and wasn't giving my insurance voucher back so my daughter and I dont have glasses now.I believe this company is a scam trying to rob hard working people of their money for their financial gain.Desired Settlement: I would like to get my daughter and I glasses With the 50% off the store is offering in addition to coupons and insurance provided which would require me not to come out of pocket along with an apology.
