Review: I took my car to get a smog-check done at Genesee Auto Care station. My engine light was on but I didn't know at that time that it was a guaranteed fail. The serviceman gave me an estimate and didn't even bother to warn me about the engine light. The smog check failed and the shop charged me the full amount of $51.00. When I returned home and did some research I found out that flashing engine light is a 100% indicator that the smog check will fail. I also found many other complaints from various people who ended up paying for smog check that was inevitably doomed to fail.

Quoting CA DMV "A vehicle will not pass an emissions test when the check engine light is on". My engine light was on when I brought my car to Genesee Auto Care shop for a smog check. I was not aware that the engine light is an indicator for not passing the smog check. The service man failed to warn me about it. Instead he ran the smog check and charged me full price ($51.70) for for failed test. When I checked reviews about this shop I found dozens of complains by people who also ended up paying for smog checks that were inevitably doomed to fail because of the flashing engine lights. None of these people were warned by the servicemen of this shop that their smog checks will fail. I find such service extremely unprofessional and unethical and would like my complaint be posted on this business profile.

Desired Settlement: My complaint should be posted on this business Revdex.com profile to make other people aware of not doing business with this service station. I would also like to get a full refund in the amount of $51.70. Thank you very much. Just a warning to other people to be aware of this unethical service.
