Genesis Custom Home Builders

On February 17, 2019 I entered into a contract with *** DBA Genesis Custom Home Builders. *** agreed to build my custom home. I purchased blue prints and gave him earnest money totaling $5000. *** didn't get started on the foundation and framing until late May. He then came to a complete stop after the roofing and the house sat with not work being done for over 2 months. Since the house sat so long, the roof had to be replaced and there are several other issues of which *** has continued to lie about. He continued to say he was unable to obtain sub contractors to complete the house. He continued to lie to me by giving me u realistic timelines for things to be completed and they never happened. I tried to meet with him and he failed to be available. I made multiple attempts to request documentation including verification of funding, and he failed to provide that although it states on his contract that he should provide upon my request. *** has slandered my name by stating that he can't complete the house because I didn't provide some type of documentation for him to get his loan, of which he never requested. *** initially told me that he had a loan to build the house and was receiving draws of money after each completed phase. I later found out that was not true. To date, he has failed to communicate with me. I have asked to be refunded of the money I gave him as well as to be compensated for my time. The house is nowhere near finished. He has also engaged in several other business transactions with other customers where he has defaulted and told multiple lies about the situation. He has told me more lies than I am able to provide due to the character limit. The house is still sitting with no work being done and the neighbors are concerned about the house becoming an eyesore since it's unfinished.
