Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.During our phone conversation I informed Sheila the carpet was in bad condition to begin with and I know because I work remodeling homes.  The carpet was not new and the apartments are old, new state cannot be expected specially if carpet cleaning was not a perk or renewing my contact stay with them.  As for resurfacing the counter and sink, I am not sure why this had to be done as the sink is a standard steel sink and there was no strains on it and the counter was old and dark.  I was a single man in this apartment, I don't even cook.  We cleaned this apartment as much as possible before moving out and it was handed in better condition that what I found it in.  If the company choose to do a much needed update this cost should not be handed down to me now that I am gone.
I am not expecting to be the exception of anything, I am just asking to be treated fairly.  As for the email mentioned to be sent to me after our conversation on the 12th, the email was sent to the wrong email address, as you can see based on Sheila's attachment, she sent it to '[redacted]@gmail.com' and my email is '[redacted]@gmail.com'.  The 'o' of my last-name is missing and you cannot expect me to be responsible for a clerical error on your end.  At this time, take this email as a request to remove all fees and refund me my full deposit.  Let me know if you need anything else from me in order to grant me my request.  Further communication can be done with my now wife, [redacted] at 317-[redacted] or at [redacted]@gmail.com (as initially requested).

The lease that [redacted] agreed to states that he is required to give a 60 day written notice. We also send out renewal offers that remind residents about the 60 day notice. He came in after...

receiving his 2" renewal offer letter dated 2/20/2015 and told us he was staying with his girlfriend and he may move out. Our Assistant Manager, Kassie [redacted] gave him a blank notice to vacate form and reminded him that we require a 60 day written notice. He did not return the notice until 3/16/2015.
As for damages charged once he vacated, we initially estimated the charges at $308.00. The kitchen counter had several scratches and ink stains on it. It had to be resurfaced. This cost was $125,00. Also we had to replace the carpet because of excessive wear and dirt. This cost was $549, His prorated portion was $183.
We reduced the total to $75.00
I spoke with [redacted] over the phone on Friday, June 12th to explain the charges. He did not agree with the charges and thought it was not fair. He still wanted his deposit back. I informed him that we have to treat everyone the same. All residents agree to the same lease and we cannot waive the move out requirement for just him. I ask him to email me a request to return his deposit and why he should not be charged for the 60 day notice and the reduced damage charge. I ask him to email me that by Saturday 6/13/2015 and I would submit his request to our management company. It is now June 17th and I have not received his email.
Please contact me at (317) 293-5041 if you have any questions or if you would like me to provide you with any other documents.
Sincerely,
Shelia [redacted]
Property Manager
