Paul, the owner of the company, inspected a living room hearth, firebox and chimney on our bungalowWe were concerned about red brick dust gathering in the firebox, and the non-existent grout on some areas of the brick fascia of the fireplaceI paid $for this inspection and advice on how to address the problems which would be deducted from the final invoice if I went ahead with the repair
There was quite a long waiting period for the repair, but when he had a cancellation, he called and asked if I wanted to be moved up the schedule so work could be done three months earlier
On the day of the repair, he arrived with his crew, moved furniture and covered it in protective plastic, and then sealed off the hearth area from the rest of the living room to prevent the inevitable dust that would arise from the plastering and the sawing out of the old failed grout in the brick fascia
He completed the work within the agreed time frame and cleaned the area before helping to move the furniture back to its original positionsPaul also instructed us on how to use the damper and how long the fireplace needed to cure before any fires were built
He was thoroughly helpful and friendly, as were his crew, and the job site, both inside the house and outside was left in a very clean and tidy condition

We used Custom Masonry to rebuild our fireplace. We live in a 1920's craftsman bungalow and the tiles were tearing and the fireplace face was visibly moving. We had several masonry people come out, but no one seemed to have an answer for us about what was occurring other than the whole thing needed to be taken down including the outside chimney. Paul came and knew exactly what was happening, explained his process and recommendations in an easy to understand manner. When he and his crew came, they did the work efficiently, within the prospective time frame and with respect for an old house and its problems.
