Review: The vehicle I purchased from this dealership wasn't drivable. Within the first week of getting it I had a oil light on. When I brought it back I was told to keep driving it and if the light keep coming on bring it back. Within a few days I had to bring the car back and the service department kept the car for almost 2 weeks to tell me they didn't see any light coming on on the dash. After driving the car for 10 miles the oil light came back on. I was told there wasn't anything that could be done. I spoke to the sales manager who told me he could do anything even though I had purchased this car 4/25/2015 and I was 5/22/2015. The service manager said they would look at it one more time. Once they did I was told they didn't know what was wrong and I needed to take it to the make of the car dealership. Once I took it to another dealership to be looked at I was told I would need a new motor. All after having this car for a month and now I'm not able to drive the car at all. Gengras was contact with the request to allow me a loaner car while my car was being repaired, there response was that it wasn't there problem anymore.Desired Settlement: I would like for Gengras Motors to refund all the expense and time I have been without a vehicle because of the inconvenience I was placed in after being sold a car that was not drivable and dangerous.

service contract that would cover an engine replacement.

I purchased a certified used [redacted]. Never owning a [redacted] before and after the slick finance manager telling me that oil changes run around a couple of hundred dollars and Breaks are very expensive I was talked into purchasing an extended maintenance program for $2,295. Little did I know that it is only for 2 years and guess what I have only had 3 oil changes and when it was changed today I found out I had to pay $130 as the 2 years was up. I think selling this type of maintenance program should be against the law as for someone who has never owned a [redacted] and being told by a finance person that the maintence is expensive you buy it. Well I was taken for a ride. I only had oil changed 3 times. What a rip off. This kind of product is worse that taking a loan out from a loan shark and paying 300% interest. [redacted] buyers beware that if you ever go to this dealer do not buy this product as it is a total rip off. I also think [redacted] itself is in on these type of products as when you drive it off the lot and as time goes by you realize the car tells you your brakes will last for 40,000 miles and the dealer will never have to replace them within the 2 years. By the way I was never given a copy of the sheet showing it was for 2 years only a paper saying it was for 50,000 miles. I will never buy from this dealer again!! I was already burned from them buying a [redacted].

Review: I purchased a used [redacted] in febuary 2014, had a few scraches on body but was told touchup paint would fix, took car this month to be detailed with touchup paint they sent and was told there is no way to fix deep scratches with paint. major bodywork would have to be done. have tryed to get ahold of gengras to and have gotten no response. also, when I picked up vehical the car had not been cleaned. supposedly they had applied a [redacted] on paint finish for 699$ but when took car to be detailed I was informed that there was no way they could of done this without working on all the scratches on car. my vehicle was supposedly [redacted] certify but when I brought to dealer for inspection I was informed that my right front tierod was loose which could of caused front tire to fall off.Desired Settlement: I want to be reimbursed for [redacted] and want to be reimbursed for bodywork required to repair scratches on car.

I am rejecting this response because: I have not been able to speak to anyone at gengras. have made many attemps to call [redacted] at ###-###-####. I was very happy with purchase of vehicle, however findind out they charged me for things they did not do, [redacted] for $699.00,an easy fee of $50.00. what is vehicle id security option for $199.00? dealer conveyance fee for $499.00? I went to a licensed auto detailer and was informed thatalso said scratches could not be fixed with little bottle of touch up paint and that no way any [redacted] could of been applied.

I am a 30 yr. miltary veteran and was reffered to gengras thru usaa insurance. as a active duty member we should be treated better than gengras has treated me, and that goes for all military members.

Review: Saturday, 6/21/14, my husband and I looked at a vehicle at Gengras Motors. We found a vehicle that we wanted to purchase and signed an agreement, leaving a deposit of $100 on vehicle. Monday, 6/23/14, my husband applied for a loan regarding the vehicle and was scheduled to pick up the funds Tuesday, 6/24/14, in the afternoon. I received a call at 11:47am from the sales person indicating it wasn't necessary to pursue financing any longer due to the vehicle being sold. Sales person indicated the vehicle already had a deposit on it. This practice falls way below shady. Does the dealership take multiple deposits on the same vehicle to assure sales? Salesman offered to assist with other purchase, this is not something that I believe anyone in their right mind would pursue. Very poor customer service and very poor sales practices.Desired Settlement: I would like others to beware. We were warned by prior employee and an insurance adjuster that Gengras was a place to stay away from. My poor judgment lead us to waste time, gas and energy in pursuing this transaction from a business that does not seem to have solid business practices. Salesperson and (new) Manager each were aware of our deposit.

Thank you for you concerns. Their was 2 deposits put on this vehicle the same day. Their was confusion to which guest put their deposits 1st. As the General Manager of Gengras Chevrolet I apoligize for the confusion. We do have over 260 pre-owned vehicles to choose from and would love the opportunity to look for another vehicle for this guest. As for the $100.00 deposit it was refunded to the customer on June 24th. Sometimes it could take up to 72 hours to process thru the customers bank. [redacted] General Manager Gengras Chevrolet

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

We have received a refund check for $100 and are satisfied with the return of our deposit. The explanation regarding the deposit on the vehicle is not as satisfactory. My husband was told the truck had a deposit on it the day before, not the same day, as our deposit. This entire experience has enforced the warnings of others regarding practices at Gengras. I don't believe we will be doing business with them in the future and I have warned many, many others.

Review: About the end of June contacted someone at Gengras HD in East Hartford requiring about a loan for a specific motorcycle, the Business Manager called me back and I explained the specific bike to him, he then took a small deposit to hold the bike. Making an appointment on July 6th, 2013 to go down to see it I was given a salesman I would be dealing with. After going over details and giving more monies down with a receipt in hand I left. I had a change of heart and am now waiting a for a refund. First I was told by the salesman it was sent to the wrong address and a new check would be issued, I explained I would be in to pickup being I lived 10 minutes away, he said fine. Then I realized I would be away and called to let him know leaving a voicemail with proper address and no answer back called again next day left another voicemail with correct information and again no phone call back. I returned home 8/22/2013 and no check in mail. I called back asking to speak to Business Manager and he said this is the first he was hearing about the refund being sent to wrong address, informed me he would have to check with Accounting, gave him the correct information as to the right address. 8/23/2013 someone from Gengras Motorcycle left voicemail stating check was going to go out today and I should receive the beginning of next week. I called back and asked for Accounting as was put on hold for awhile after telling reception that I was inquiring about the status of a refund that is taking a month to give back. I don't see why they didn't credit my debit card back ASAP cause that was the way I made initial deposits to them. Would of gotten my deposit a lot quicker. Told they can't do that. Never heard of that, usually you get refund back the way you made initial payment. Bottom line is if I had not made these calls regarding my refund I have to wonder when they would refund my money especially since my contact with the salesman in 7/6/2013 stated you do get a refund. 8/23/2013 still no mo

We did as Ms. [redacted] had requested , sold her a 2008 [redacted] got her approved for financing and TOOK it off the market for over 30 days and then she called and wanted to cancel.I have had a refund check for her sitting on my desk for over 10 days waiting for pick up. Don't know why this letter was written by her ?? Please inform her she may pick it up any time Monday thru Friday.
