first thank you for your feedback and yes I will be looking into your concerns and get back to you once I speak to my service manager.

I filed a complaint with Revdex.com due to my car being damaged while left at Gengras [redacted] in [redacted] in April 2014. My car remains damaged with scratches, chips and dents after being driven for three miles by Gengras Staff while my car was left for a routine oil check and computer transmission check with test drive. After being ignored by the Service Manager and tracking down the General Manager, I was offered a local business evaluation of my damage to assess if they could paint over the damage on the hood, the damage to my grill was not addressed. My car check in done by Gengras documents that my car was damage free, my car was driven three miles while at the dealership. I did investigate the business offer with the "[redacted]" and this is not a business that I feel comfortable managing a paint issue on my 2011 luxury car. And the issue with my dented grill has not been addressed.

Desired Outcome:

I am seeking restitution and repair of my vehicle to be done by a reputable Volvo establishment of my
choice.

Good morning Revdex.com,
My complaint is not resolved.
My car check in completed by Gengras confirms my car was damage free when I dropped it off, now my car has scratches, chips and grill dents.
My car was driven three miles while at Gengras.  The dealership is next to a stone quarry.
The service manager did not report my concerns to the General Manager and ignored me until I wrote [redacted].  I had to obtain contact information for the General Manager from the [redacted].    When I finally met with the General Manager due to his unavailability,  I was told what stone chips are and the General Manager looked at my car.  My car was chip, scratch and dent free when I dropped it off at Gengras [redacted].  Despite the check in information substantiating that fact, this fact is ignored.  I was accused of not buying my car new and told the dealership would be 'running the car fax'.
My car has chips, dents and is scratched after being at Gengras in [redacted] two days and driven three miles by Gengras [redacted] Staff.  The grill damage appears painted over, the chips and scratch are fresh white damage.
I was offered to have a local "[redacted]" assess my car to see if they could match my paint color and cover up the damage which was done to my car.  The grill dents were not addressed.
I am not satisfied with this solution.
I do not consider this complaint closed or resolved.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Review: I left my car for routine maintenance and a request to check the transmission at Gengras [redacted] in [redacted] 4/10/14 and picked up my car 4/11/14 around 17:35. At pick up the weather was intermittent rainy, my car was wet. I drove to [redacted] upon leaving. When I stopped, I looked at my car and was shocked. The hood is deeply scratched and there are multiple stone chips on the hood as well as chips on the front grill. I called the dealer and the service dept was closed, I left a voice message. I called the dealer 4/14 and spoke with the service manager and planned to bring the car in for examination. I visited the dealer 4/16. I was told by the service manager initially that I had scratched my own car, then that if the dealer had damaged my car on their test drive they are not responsible for damages sustained while on their drive. I asked for investigation and requested a call back. I wrote the dealer 4/23 and 4/29; no reply. 5/1 I wrote [redacted] USA. 5/5 the Service manager called me and said the dealer could offer me a discount at a local shop for a paint job since they are not liable for road test damage and this would be at my cost for $725 + tax. I wrote [redacted] USA 5/5 and spoke with a rep. My service check in has documentation that my car was pristine at drop off. I had the car detailed 3/11 at this same dealership, so the staff also knew my car was flawless. My car is a 2011 [redacted] S60 with 37792 miles in and 37795 miles out. The dealer is next to some type of rock quarry, my car was left outside overnight, I was told the test drive route is directly in the path of the rock quarry. I have my phone records, pictures and email copies.Desired Settlement: I expect my new car paint restored by a reputable [redacted] shop due to the damages caused while my car was being serviced. The scratches are deeper than the clear coat and white, some are actually palpable due to the depth on the grill area.

Review: I purchased a vehicle from gengras about 3 months ago. The car is starting to make a lot of noises, I noticed one day which in the drying phase of the car was that all the air was getting into the vehicle. I have a friend at a local dealership and asked them to look at the car for me. He got me the car fax on the car and the facts that I got from this report did not match up to the report gengras gave me. The report gengras gave me was missing a lot of information like how the vehicle had been in an accident and had a lot of work done to it previous to my purchase. If I had known any of this information I would not have purchased the vehicle. I also still have the original auto check that gengras gave me.Desired Settlement: I would like to get all the money I put down and the payments I have made on this vehicle.

Review: I brought my Volvo Xc70 for a Computer ENGINE Diagnosis only. They (Gengras of Meriden) completed the Diagnosis & the Service Rep goes around back to get my Volvo he drives it around to the front of building, where all customers wait for the Volvos, & comes inside with my keys & very casually says to me, " by the way I parked your Volvo up on the hill out front because it will not back up the emergency brakes are seased & this happens sometimes with older Volvos I said, the emergency break was just fine what did you do & I'm not leaving with my EMERGENCY BRAKE that was working just fine bringing the Volvo to you, you drive it into the Garage bay to do a ENGINE DIAGNOSTIC & the EMERGENCY BRAKES NOW DO NOT WORK! So, I proceed to get into my Volvo & sure enough my Volvo will not back up.I said to the Service Rep. I cannot leave my car will not move into reverse & barely forward..The Service Rep took my Volvo back in & I'm hearing heavy deep grinding & the Volvo was barely moving. The service rep comes up to me slapping his hands together saying," we got the emergency brakes loose you should be ok for a while. He slappped his hands together as if he did the work & as if he was brushing the durt from his clothes & hands.Mind you he did not have any dirt on him whatsoever.I slowly drove away, I did not hear anything until a quarter of a mile up the road. The Volvo rear wheels locked up & skid to one side,I had to pull the steering wheel in the opposit direction so as not to hit another car in front of me as well as a car comming from the opposite direction.I safely pulled over I did not see anything on the ground nor did I hear any sounds as I slowly pulled off the road. So I began to slowly drive forward on the side of the road with my flashers on. I still did not hear any noises at all.The Volvo seemed fine until I was just about home. Then it locked up again skidding & now major grinding/scraping as if it was in a large mixing bowl with large marbles. I Pulled over & called flat bed tow truck!

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Replacement

I spoke to Service Rep.I said,"I came to the Dealership for an Engine Diagnosis nothing to do with emergency brakes. My emergency brakes were fine when I drove here, the Volvo goes from rear of Bldg & I can't move it.I believe the Person(s) who Moved my Volvo from Front of Building to Rear of Building for the Engine Diagnosis) had yanked up on emergency brake & now I do not have emergency brakes & that the emergency brakes are frozen in the ON position locking the rear end.I said,I would pay parts

Mr [redacted] came in with his vehicle for a ck engine light diagnosis only at the time we gave Mr [redacted] a loaner to use after the diagnosis was finished we could not get touch with mr [redacted] for a week finally I did make contact with Mr [redacted] on a friday when he came in to pick up his car on the following monday the service advisor drove his car from around back and told me that his rear brakes are stuck .The vech has over 260,000 miles on it .I brought the car back into the shop and we saw that the parking brake cables were frozen from rust there was plastic insulator that ctracked and the cables were rusted from age/milage on vech.so we tried to free them up and finally had the rear wheels freed up so they spun with hand pressure ,we did not take apart any part of the rear wheels, rear brakes .We just freed up the parking brake cables .Mr [redacted] owns euro auto and knows the issues that can happen on higher milage cars like his .He also states that the car did not come in like this and we must of used the parking brake so he feels its our responsibility that its broken,I told him"we do not use parking brakes on these cars because of these issues ("he states we must of and would not listen to any reason .I told him we are not responsiable for an issues with his brakes we did not even touch when it was in for the engine diagnosis only he said "he was going to be a thorn in my a--

I do apologise to Revdex.com for not posting my 2nd response to Gengras of Meriden.

It is TRUE that we had 1 conversation between us. It is NOT TRUE that I used ANY VOLGAR Language with ROGER on our 1 phone conversation. It is True, however, that during this 1 phone call that He (ROGER) immediatly began Loudly dominating the conversation, which was, in my opinion, a very one sided phone call. For 2 full days prior to his agressive & loud phone call I was trying to reach him. I do believe he was avoiding to discuss or resolve. Finally, 2 days later, He (ROGER) said, " I spoke to the powers that be" and I don't have to do anything it is not our fault. Now what Mr. ROGER has eludided prior is I do have a small business & as I had stated, I would never treat any of my customers the way he treated me. Loud, dominate & agressive as well as completly negative in response. It is true I have been around Volvos both owning & repairing them for over 30+ years in the business. I do understand customers & sometimes things just go wrong. Where we differ is I do not have a mediator. I am the repair guy, the business man the all in one show. I cannot avoid anything with my customers. Again let me be clear, I would not & I did not use any volgar language with any of my customers nor with Mr. Roger. That is by far an outright lie. I find that very offensive. I still believe both personally & professionally that one of the persons involved in driving, moving this Volvo from front of building to back garage bay, parking it & then someone else removing it from that same back garage bay used the emergency brake & yanked quite hard on it to Freeze & snap. I did check the car out when I had it towed & one of the cables on one side was snaped & the pads were not delaminated they were intact to the emergency brake shoes. The other side was fully intact it was just the one side that was snaped not at all what Mr. Roger has indicated that sometimes the emergency brake shoes delaminate. Sorry Mr. Roger but absoultley wrong. IF you yank up on an old cable you will snap it. I believe through me seeing it that is what happened.

PLEASE let's not forget that We have a first part to this situation to REPAIR THE ENGINE LEAK(S). THIS first repair job which took 4 visits. The 3rd time it included the wkend. My friend & I went to the back where they had parked the car. I'm staring at a HUGH Leak under the Engine. Mr. Roger & mechanic blamed me for that as well. Then they found the correct cyl Leaks.
