We hired *** Cont. 3/19/19 to remodel the walk in shower in our mstr bthrm (along with a few other jobs). His description for the master shower job, per our estimate was "Remove existing tile, tile shower & repl. shower fixtures (does not include cost of plumbing fixtures). Plumb in new fixtures, install shower tile base (not shower pan)". The total cost for the mstr shower would be $6200. We paid $3100 + sales tax (1/2 dwn) on 3/19/19.

When he was finally done (5/1/19) we had many complaints: #1 many of the wall tiles & tiles in the wall border were protruding. #2 he hadn't done anything with the ceiling, he had exposed webbing tape from the ceiling drywall & the shower light was hanging down & #3 there were several "knee size" depressions through out the floor that caused water to pool- causing a huge safety issue.

I informed Mr *** of our concerns emailing him pictures of the tile protrusions the floor issues & the ceiling. He responded he had been sick & he would call me later that day.

When he called me later that day he stated he was sorry we were unhappy and he could offer $350 off the cost.

I emailed he stating, we wanted the floor in the shower to be smooth, the tile walls to be flush & the ceiling to be completed/painted. I then asked when he would come fix everything so we could pay the balance. He responded (5/3/19) saying he would take care of it within 90 days (by 8/3/19).

When we never heard from him again, we hired Rank Const (11/10/19) to remove the floor tiles, fix all the indentions & retile the floor, the safety & maintenance was too much. (pd $2964.80). We couldn't afford to have the walls redone.

*** emailed 11/15/19 asking if we wanted him to come back and if so, he could try for Jan or Feb. I stated we just got the floor done by someone else.

So our walls are still protruding & *** sends us an invoice for $2983.75 on 1/9/19 for the balance on the shower he never finished saying we need to come to a "financial agreement".

Hello Mrs., Thank you for contacting us via the Revdex.com, and thank you to the Revdex.com for offering their assistance with client complaints. We appreciate the opportunity to make improvements on your home, of which the shower was a part. It is our regret that we were not able to make the repairs in the timeline that was suggested. Since we had not heard from you, we were unaware that you felt there were any safety issues with your shower. Your safety is our highest priority so we are very disappointed to hear, for the first time, that you felt your shower was ‘a huge safety issue.’ Had we have been notified, we would have prioritized the repair differently. It was not our impression that this repair was a high priority to you, and since we had not received any communication from you, it further demonstrated to us that this repair was not a priority to you. Due to extreme seasonal demand, we did not return to make the repairs to the tile within the time frame we originally estimated. You have been invoiced and have paid the amount of the deposit (50% of the cost of the shower, $3363.50), and we agreed to invoice the balance, $3363.50, pending completion of the repairs to your satisfaction. To the best of our knowledge, you had a fully functional and operating shower with only minor issues that needed repair. We would have appreciated notice that you were planning to hire another contractor to do the work. We have offered to pay a subcontractor to fix the tiles in the wall that are not to your satisfaction, but you have declined. We are looking forward to working with you to resolve any remaining issues, including having the shower wall tile repaired to your satisfaction.

All the best,

AJ G

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and as of today, I accept the response, in that I emailed the business on 2/17/20 stating I would welcome them sending a tile guy over to fix the shower walls. As of today (2/26/20) I have an appt with the business and their tile guy to fix the walls on 2/27/20 at 5:30-6 pm. So far this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely
