Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: The claim that the movers advised against helping to carry boxes is untrue, this was never communicated to usThe movers clearly did not check that the area surrounding the van was clear before driving away as the box was left directly adjacent to where the van was parkedWhether or not it was communicated that the box contained valuable goods is irrelevant as the movers were responsible for all of the items being transportedIt should not be our responsibility to check that the van was fully loaded before departure, and if that was the expectation, it should have been clearly communicatedWith regards to insurance, the company quoted that they are only liable for of a pound, which would result in a $insurance payment (assuming a pound box), nowhere close to the value of the items lostThe result of this exchange is very disappointing and I would expect that a company would reimburse customers for the value of items lost due to the negligence of its employees In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

We were very sorry to see this happen, but we are not liable for the loss of these itemsNever on the inventory that was given was there any indication that there was a box with valuable electronic equipment, and it was never even specifically pointed out to our movers, that it was fragile/valuable/of importanceTypically this would have at least been mentionedThe customer's friends were also moving + loading boxes (against our advice), and things kept getting addedOur movers kept trying to get the customer to come out and check that everything was where it was supposed to be + fully loadedWe spoke with our driver in detail about this move, and he confirmed that the customer came out, saw how packed the van was, and checked outside of the vanNothing was there so the guys continued to finish the jobThe guys said that they went and checked the house times, and they didn't miss anythingWe offered to file an insurance claim, but the client deferred

The movers clearly did not check that the area surrounding the van was clear before driving away as the box was left directly adjacent to where the van was parked. Whether or not it was communicated that the box contained valuable goods is irrelevant as the movers were responsible for all of the items being transported. It should not be our responsibility to check that the van was fully loaded before departure, and if that was the expectation, it should have been clearly communicated. With regards to insurance, the company quoted that they are only liable for 0.6 of a pound, which would result in a $24 insurance payment (assuming a 40 pound box), nowhere close to the value of the items lost. The result of this exchange is very disappointing and I would expect that a company would reimburse customers for the value of items lost due to the negligence of its employees.

Review: My roommate and I hired Man with a Van to move our belongings from our old apartment to the new one. In the process of moving, the crew failed to load a box containing over $2000 worth of electronic equipment into the moving van. They left it on the side of the street. When I realized later in the day that the box was missing, I went back to look for it and found it on the side of the street right next to where the van had been parked. The equipment had all been stolen. I requested to be reimbursed for the cost of the equipment, but the business owner did not honor my request.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for the cost of the equipment that was stolen due to the negligence of the Man with a Van company.
