On March 25th, 2016, Irwin Plumbing and Heating received a call from Mr [redacted] ***It was about an electric water heater tripping the circuitbreakerWe removed the panels and checked the elementsWe noticed a loose connection on the thermostatWe repaired the loose wire on the thermostat We observed it had already been tampered with by othersWe checked all other connections and they were all tight.Later that evening, Mr [redacted] had called and said the water heater was leakingApparently, the thermostat failed to maintain temperature and tripped the relief valveI could tell he was upset with usHe than stated that, "We didn't know what we were doing." It was at that point, I told him to turn the breaker off and call the person who installed it as it was still under warrantyI agreed to send back half the price of the bill, which came to $86,I asked my wife to send Mr [redacted] a check the next day for $It was made out from [redacted] Bank, Check # ***, sent on April 5th, 2016.On March 25th, 2016, I billed Mr [redacted] for the service call for $per hour for /hours of labor, which totaled $We also repaired a [redacted] laundry tray faucet while we were thereThe total for material-stems and seats came to $30.00, with a grand total of $It was a [redacted] Electric Water Heater that we do not carry parts forI should have just told him to purchase a new thermostat, I was just trying to help him out asa friend referred me to Mr***As per my last phone conversation with Mr***, we had agreed that I would send have the bill back to him, which I didI feel that we handled everything in a fair way.Sincerely,George EIrwin
