I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
[First of all, after we started to work on the sale contract to buy the car, the man told me it was sitting on their lot for over a monthI now know why was because of the horrible car smell I am sure MrCook had already did his ozone treatment of the car to get the smell removed, but it keeps coming back The it sat on the lot for another month until I picked it up and it smelled like smoke when I opened the door at the dealership- the agent told me it was the smell of Windex- I said it was smoke They knew it smelled like smoke because I found two dryer fabric softener sheets hooked under the seats in the back on the metal bar holding them to the floor a few days later when the car got to Mexico. It still smells like smoke no matter what I do Also why did they not do the cleaning before I arrived or told me that it smelled so bad They knew that the car was going to Mexico that evening and there was nothing I could do about the smell from Mexico They had plenty of warning I was coming and they could have done that cleaning before I arrived It wreaks when you open the door so badly, my husband get an asthma attack sitting in the car and then he says his clothes wreak of smoke just from sitting on the seat This is totally unacceptable and how can I have a car where my husband cannot drive in Since I used their accountability and honesty to let me know if there were any issues or the reason ti did not sell earlier was because of the smoke,I feel I was taken advantage of and one excuse after the next comes out of their mouths There is no accountability for any of their missteps and I am the one that has to pay for everything Cars that have horrible smoke problems sell for $dollars less than dealer price They knew there was a problem and why did they not clean it before? I know I deserve some money back As for the wrong address- I never gave them the address they used for my title They have my main residence where they sent all the paperwork to in Oaklandno matter what, the DMV has my e cars registered in Mexico, so I really do not know why they did that and they never even notified me of the DMV refusal I know this is not true, because I have vehicles registered in Mexico and all you had to do is sign an affidavit (see attached DMV registrations) I do not know why they used an address that was not on my contract papers The only answer is because they are unprofessional and did not do their DMV work correctlyNow I had a DMV letter sent to the wrong address again and the people nicely sent it to me Now it says they are going to suspend my registration because of no insurance evidenceI also gave them my insurance papers, why was it not presented to the DMV? And now I have to spend more money to get this fixed These people are very unprofessionaland I went to a dealer so this could be an easy transactionThis is so ridiculous, it is like a bad movie.The gentleman paid $for my hotel room because of the AC problem and making me wait and miss the transport truck- not because there was a smoke smell in that the car, a car that is worth $less because of the smoke smell.I know I was treated poorly and dealt with like I do not know what I am talking about because I am a women The AC problem is documented through the INTERNET as a issue the Ford edge has To tell me it happened because it sat for a monthis unacceptable when they know the truth and the countless cars that have reentered their shop to get this problem with the AC door fixedThey continue to make things up as they go along And though I like the car, the smell of the smoke is so offense each time I open the door, it is unbearable, and I cry to know of their deception Their motto is "we don't sellwe satisfy" is so untrue I am not satisfied and I just am so unset at these people It is not fair to take advantage of an absentee buyer like this and I feel used.]

*** *** stated that her 1* expectation is that in her mind she is getting a new car and everything should work and be perfectWe agree that everything should work however it is not reasonable to compare it to a new car and everything to be perfect-The smell of smoke being miles away
makes it difficult to verify and addressWe have offered to detail the vehicleIf the vehicle was here and we could verify the concern, we would use a vendor who specializes in the removal of odors from InteriorsThey generally use ozone along with a combination of techniques to remove the odorsI have had an extremely high level of success in the removal of odors utilizing themIf there is a similar detail shop where the customer lives I would offer the same $thatI could get it done for hereThere was an issue with the Ac when she picked the vehide up, when the issue was brought up we sprang into action and immediately had our technicians start on diagnosing the vehicle***e *** immediately was questioning our reconditioningI explained to her that it was something that COULD have gone bad while the vehicle was sitting here for a month waiting for deliveryThat was not lyingabout the problemI offered to pay for her hotel for an extra day while the vehicle was repairedLuckily we repaired the vehicle within a few hours so she did not have to stay an extra nightI did payfor her room the previous night though.As far as the title papers the DMV would not allow us to title the vehicle to an address in Mexico.As for as the windshield streaking unfortunately we are unable to inspect the vehicle to determine the cause of streakingIn the interest of customer satisfaction, we will amend our offer to include $forher to have the streaking diagnosed and repaired at her convenience.A copy of the Ford Vehicle Inspection is attached as well as another copy of the Ford Certified Pre owned warranty.*** ***
