George's Amoco Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: In February 6, 2013 we towed our car to the George's Amoco Auto Service Center [redacted] and asked the owner **. [redacted] to check the car battery,( Interstate [redacted] installed on 27 March, 2010) and to give us the phone call before replacing the battery. Since we did not receive any call from him, the next day we went again and asked for the battery. The battery was removed from the car and **. [redacted] asked us to make decision about the replacement. He did not provide the battery current status printout. He replaced the battery and charged us $150. He never mentioned that our old battery was under the full warranty. I'm 78 y old, and I was expecting that he will provide the best service. However, the following day, when we could not start our car, we went back to **. [redacted] and asked him to provide us with written itemized billing statement and the battery warranty disclosure, he refused and advised us to check for electrical drain, and told us that he cannot provide an estimate for this service because it could take many hours. Later, when we brought him the results of our car test showing that the alternator is OK and that there is NO electrical drain; he even did not want to look into this results. When I objected that he did not disclose to us that our old battery was under the full warranty, and that he overcharged us, his reply was "sue me". He refused to refund our over-payment or give back our old battery that was on full (100%) warranty. He refused to provide any explanations to my questions, and said that he does not want to talk to me and that I should leave his premises. When I asked for refund, he said that he will remove the battery and after that he will provide refund. When I asked him to return my old battery he said that he does not have it anymore.

In conclusion:

-**. [redacted] has failed to provide an explanation of charges

-**. [redacted] failed to provide itemized billing

-**. [redacted] failed to provide assistance

_**. [redacted] exercised inappropriate behavior by refusing to answer my questions concerning the car warranty coverage and terms

- **. [redacted] overcharged us and refused to provide refund.Desired Settlement: To refund $150 for battery change plus $85 for testing for the alternator proper charging and electrical parasitic draw (on his recommendation), in total $235. Since he did not returned our battery or discounted his price for the battery that was under full warranty, we cannot return the battery he installed. Once he returns the battery under full warranty like one he removed from our car, we will be happy to return his battery.

We would like to settle it, and we hope he will settle it this time, and prove that he did not want to take an advantage of a senior citizen who trusted him.
