Review: [redacted] has failed to return $500.00 deposit on a car that I didn't purchase.Desired Settlement: Deposit returned.

Response:

For Order Number: [redacted] regarding [redacted]. The customer was refunded her money after the 10 days it took the check to clear our bank. She came in and picked up the check a few weeks ago. [redacted] Garavel Auto Group

Review: Between 12/3 and 12/8/14, [redacted] and managers [redacted] and [redacted] of [redacted] (formerly Georgetown Subaru) in [redacted], CT quoted me in writing a selling price of $23,459 to lease a 2015 silver [redacted] with Eyesight and Remote Engine Start, but then told me they would have to increase the price when I tried to put down a deposit four business hours later. They did not indicate an expiration time to the quote and the invoice price and MSRP are unchanged since the time of their quote.

They also refused to legibly detail in writing the fees on the lease agreement prior to receiving a deposit, handed me a brochure for their costly extended warranty when I asked for a written description of their free lifetime warranty, told me that leased cars that are subsequently purchased qualify for the dealership’s lifetime warranty and then retracted that statement when I asked to see it in the warranty description, lied about whether I could trade in my existing vehicle for its equity, and tried to trick us into test driving a higher trim than the one we had agreed to test drive. When I complained about this dishonesty to owner [redacted] he refused to rectify the matter. The practices above appear to violate the CT and federal Consumer Leases Acts, the CT Unfair Trade Practices Act, and/or the Federal Trade Commission Act.Desired Settlement: I would like the dealership to honor their quoted price, terms, and delivery timeframe of 6 to 7 weeks from 12/3/2014 that they indicated on that date. Alternatively, if I have already put a deposit on the vehicle with another dealer, I would like them to pay me for the difference between the quoted price and the price I end up paying, along with compensation for the time and expense of delaying the transaction.

Review: I purchased a jeep [redacted] back in February of 2013 which I traded into this dealer for a bmw 328i. Upon purchasing this car, I was promised a professional detailing and a spare key. When I picked up the car, it was clearly not even touched. There was change on the back seat, dirt on the dash, and much more. I brought it back to them to have it cleaned after having to argue for about 30 minutes that they in fact did clean it, which they did not. Again, after picking up the car, it was not touched inside, and it was brought through a 5 dollar car wash. For the third time I brought it back ,and still nothing happened, I ended up cleaning the car myself. During these visits, I would keep inquiring about my spare key they promised me, to which no one had an answer every time. Ive contacted this dealer about 15- 20 times in the last couple months with no response at all. I began to grow really irritated with the car and the whole situation. The purchase was, without a doubt, an impulse buy on my part. Ive tried to trade the car in to several dealers because I can no longer afford the payments, but it turns out im 10,000 dollars in negative equity which this subaru dealer did not even have to courtesy to inform me on. I am a brand new young car buyer who had no idea that negative equity even existed. Every dealership, ive spoken too has told me that they would never sell me this car knowing the negative equity compared to my income. I recently wrote a letter to the owner of the dealership asking if he could help me. Ive made several phone calls to this dealer which has again led me to no solution. Ive left about 4 or 5 voicemails along with the constant phone calls hoping someone would return me an answer at all. I am a member of the CT army national guard and am just trying to return back to college, but with this car loan and payments, it is not possible. Thank you for your timeDesired Settlement: I would like if they could take this car back and sell it on their lot ,and if they had to, just put me in a car that has equal, or close value of the car to the loan .

Review: Hi,The below log is my interaction with Garavel Subaru of Norwalk, CT. I brought my car to this dealer to have some small problems fixed. I have since been back 3 times in regards to the work they have not done. I have found errors in the work done and this undone work is harmful to my car. I have found these problems myself and I am no mechanic. The latest issue I have found is the most serious and is very harmful to my car. My car is now left unfinished and is causing more damage every mile I have to drive it. I have had a very hard time reaching someone at the dealership. The last time I was there I questioned the poor quality work and was told by the customer service representative that they could no longer trust the mechanic. I do not have much money and rely on my car to get to work. I dont know where to turn because I have been back multiple times and this incorrect work is ruining my car. Every time I bring my car there they break something else. I just want the work I paid for done correctly without them messing something else up, see the details below. Please help me because I dont know who else I can go to. Any questions please contact me 203-243-0382.1/9/2014 Dropped off car at dealer to have passengers side axel replaced and research raw gas smell inside car. I was quoted at about $600 for the axel and a couple hundred for the gas smell. I received a call later that day and was told all the gas lines had to be replaced. The cost to have this work completed was $1,500. They also told me that a belt needed to be replaced for $150 and I agreed to have all the work done. The total was about $1,650 with $1,000 being labor. This additional work would require an additional day to be completed.1/10/2014- Called early afternoon and was told car would be ready by end of day.Went to dealership at 6:30 (dealer was closed) to find my car parked in the parking lot like it was finished.1/11/2014- Went back to dealership in the morning to find my car in the same spot in the parking lot. I was never called to come pick up my car but decided to go to the dealer anyway. I asked the status of the car and was told it was ready and no one ever called me. I asked when the car was finished and they told me 4 PM the previous day. They forgot to tell me that car was ready and I had to find an additional day of transportation due to not being called to pick up my car the previous day. Before leaving the parking lot I found very obvious unfinished work when I popped the hood. Told the people inside and they put the car back up on the lift and finished. I left after that work was completed.1/12/2014- Noticed strange noise.1/13/2014- Noise seemed to get louder. I popped the hood and found the air filter not closed. The two tabs were left undone and the filter exposed. I had not touched the engine since I received the car back and seems this was left unfinished by the staff. I was very concerned because this was allowing harmful debris into my engine. Closed the filter but the noise was still present.1/14/2014- Called early afternoon and left a message to report the strange noise. About 2 hours later and no once called back. It seemed I was being ignored and called back. I was put on the phone with someone who told me to come in and they would fix the noise and give me a loaner if I needed. I told them I would come in on 1/15/2014 when they opened.1/15/2014- Arrived at dealer at 7am and explained the strange noise I was hearing that was not present when I dropped the car off. I also explained that the filter was left undone previously and made them aware of this error. I received a loaner car and told them to call me if they had any questions or when the work was finished. 1/15/2014- Arrived at dealership around 5pm and went on test drive with mechanical to show them the noise I heard. Car made the same noise and I was reassured it was normal I was told that all the work to the car had been checked and everything looked normal. Not knowing what else to do I just took their word for it and left. I got home and the air filter was undone again. I called and explained that they failed to complete this work again. I immediately drove back to have it fixed. Frustrated with this unfinished work again I demanded an answer as to why the work was not finished. The person at the desk could not provide an answer and said I do not know. They told me that they could no longer trust the mechanic. That made me very concerned that this untrustworthy person was working on my car. They then fixed my air filter and I asked to talk to the manager. I was told the manager left for the day but was assured he would call me the next day.1/16/2014- Got a call from the Garavel number and missed it (1:03 PM), no message was left. Called back at 4:11 PM and no one picked up, I left a message for a manager to call me.1/17/2014- 3:30 PM and still no call back. At the end of the day I called back and left a message for the manager to call me as soon as possible.1/18/2014- I missed a call in the early morning but I do not know if it was Garavel that called. No one left a message so it could have been a family member of mine.1/26/2014- Finally had some free time from work and started researching the noise issue. I was looking around under the hood with a flashlight and noticed that the turbo inlet hose was not connected correctly. The whole bottom of the hose was disconnected and the way the top of it is attached it is ruining the hose. This is a huge mistake by the mechanic at Gavarel. This has been letting in harmful debris into my turbo and engine that is doing irreversible damage. This unfinished work is very harmful for the engine. 1/27/2014- Plan to call dealer about finding the source of the noise and possibly returning to the dealer for a 4th time.Desired Settlement: I want the work done correctly.
