My husband and I had first contacted GARD to adopt a dog that we had found on their webpage We had called three times, sent *** and email as well as filled out the online application to obtain Bobbie, as directed by their website It took a week to hear back from someone at GARD and only received an email (the email contained no name), who emailed at 10:p.masked if I could be at the Petsmart at Pooler, GA, the next day I told this person I was currently out of town, but to please hold Bobbie for us as we wanted him I did not receive another email from that person until days later stating that he had been adopted out No one contacted me and told me I needed to put a deposit on the Bobbie or nor that that they could not hold Bobbie for me My husband and I felt a real connection with Bobbie, and we can only pray that Bobbie has been placed with a very good family I really do not understand why we had to fill out an application online and provide LOTS of personal information to include our vets' names to show that we were good dog owners, but yet they adopted this sweet pup out to a family they just met at pet adoption day I also looked at their Facebook page today and realized that they had answered questions about Bobbie to other individuals, but never responded to us I truly do not understand why they have the application process online if they are going to ignore the applications received and just adopt the animals out to anyone at an adoption day This was first and last encounter with GARD We will keep the dogs they obtain in prayer that they truly do find good homes for them
