I purchased hand scraped wood flooring and it has chipped, scratched and indented from light use.I bought wood floor for $3.59 per square foot. It has a few chips on the edges and light scuffs after only 3 months. It now also has indentations in the wood from a 1' x 2' rolling table with only a laptop on it. [redacted] at GCO contacted the rep from the company and he contacted their suppliers rep who came, took pictures and sent it to the manufacturer. After approximately 1 1/2 months I went down to GCO to find out what was going on. [redacted] was helping me when [redacted] came up front and told [redacted] that it was out of their hands, give me [redacted] number and let me deal with it, there was nothing more they could do. When I talked to [redacted] the suppliers rep, he told me that [redacted] at GCO should never have given me his number because I am GCO's customer, not his. The manufacturer has denied the claim. As far as going to court, we have the NWFA behind our decision. First, no way will we change out a floor for a different product, as all of our products have the same finish. As I understand it, they started out complaining about the product and from the pictures, it looks mostly like they are complaining about the scratching. As I said, no one makes a scratch proof floor. As far as the delam spot, that can be a defect and we will gladly pay for an installer to go with a carton of the floor and replace the delam and will also replace a few boards that are scratched with the understanding that it is only as a courtesy, not as a requirement. The threat of taking us to court doesn't bother us, as we are more willing to spend money to support our products than we are to accept the floor as a bad floor.
