18 months ago we hired the Georgies in Inverness to tile our kitchen floor and black splash. The glass tile of the backsplash is fine. We ordered a travertine. We waited a longgggg time and it did not come in so we changed the color. When it finally arrived we had some trouble scheduling the install. before the install was complete the tile seem to be disintegrating. I brought it up the installer (their best installer I was told). I asked if it should be sealed. He replied it already was. He finished the install using some tiles that were already chipped. Which was unnecessary as we had plenty of extra. I guess he didn't want to be bothered fixing it. In the next few weeks I noticed that areas of the tile was disintegrating. I called Georgies and informed them I wanted it fixed with a new installer. The sent someone quickly......the installer I told them not to send. I asked again if it needed to be sealed. Again he told me no. His answer to my concern was that travertine could be porus. I was given none of this info when I purchased the tile. The grout was filthy 2 weeks after it was laid and I couldn't get it clean no matter how hard I tried. His answer was to regrout and mix some kind of material into it so it would be easy to clean. 18 months later the tile continues to "melt" and my beaufiful new kitchen is ruined by the floor. I have had several other installers look at it and they do not feel it was sealed. I don't want to seal it now in hopes I can find a fix first. I have spare tiles but I was told that surrounding tile could be damaged if we tried to take the bad ones out. I don't know what to do. I know its probably too late to get any satisfaction but I wanted them to know. after reading these other reviews I am thinking of taking them to court as well. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THERES A REASON THE INVERNESS STORE SHUT DOWN IN SUCH A SHORT TIMME.

My husband and I had a VERY bad experience with Georgie's Flooring. They had a nice selection of tiles and the owner gave us a good price on the tile we chose so we had him order it for us. We paid for the tiles in full. 1/17/15 Georgie's assured us their team of people were the best installers and he had availability for us in the next couple of weeks so we agreed to have them install it. We wanted to have the job done in a few steps because we had lots of furniture to move around in our condo and total bathroom renovations would follow shortly. They said that would not be a problem.1/26 we sent Georgie's a check for $3000 deposit for install.1/ 30 the check cleared our bank. They said they would come 2/2. They did not show up. I called the store and was told that we were not even on the schedule. ** said he would talk to the owner, he knew nothing. He promised to call me back that afternoon. He did not. I called the next day and the owner had a family emergency. I said please have him call us back the next day.. Again he promised he would call back. no call. We spent a lot of money so far and communication was NOT good. We just wanted to know WHEN they were coming. The owner called my husband screaming at him that no one ever promised us any specific day! He would gladly cancel the contract now! We were shocked at the anger and language this man used and we SHOULD have said fine and gotten our money back then! We gave the owner the benefit of the doubt that he was under lots of stress and we said we just wanted to know WHEN they were coming. We tried very hard to be polite and patient as possible because he had our money! He told us they would come 2./14. They did not show up in the morning. We called them at noon to find out what time they were planning on coming. They said they were not coming. They could come 2/16. On 2/16 we had 3 guys come to our condo and tear the carpet out of our dining room and hallway, chisel the old tiles out of our kitchen, closet and bar area. There were very large holes left in the floor. The installer assured me it would be fine after they used the thin set and put the soundproofing over the holes. They said the would be back on Fri. to tile. They did not come Fri.. We were very unhappy with all the broken promises and I decided to look on the Revdex.com site to see if there were other unhappy customers. There were 5 other complaints at THAT time and some of the complaints were practically identical to ours! I only wish I looked at this before hiring these people. The owner finally told us his guys did not want to do our job because we lived too far away. The owner told us he would deliver our tiles to us at no extra cost. We said fine. We just wanted the tiles we paid for.The owner told us they would be delivering our tiles the following week. Did not happen. I spoke to a person at the store and they told me they were loading the truck as we spoke and they would be at our place in the afternoon. Did not happen that day, the next day or next. We believed Georgie's didn't even have the tiles that we paid for now. too many lies. We told Georgie's we just wanted our money back. We had to practically chase the owner down for our money. We wanted a certified check and the owner agreed to that but my husband would have to come and get it. My husband took the afternoon off from work and when he got to the store..no certified check. He gave my husband 2 store checks. My husband was not able to cash either one of them only deposit them. One of the checks bounced in a couple of days. We checked with the bank before redepositing the other for the second time.-Insuf funds. 3rd time it finally cleared. Now we had to finish our job that was abandoned. We were told the insulation product was installed incorrectly by the product manuf. rep and the glue was expired.The holes would need to be filled in properly before a tiler could do the install which meant we had to hire someone to uninstall the product, fill the holes and repurchase new insulation AND buy our tile again somewhere else. This has been a big expense for us. It cost us over a thousand dollars just to prepare our floor! Our experience at Georgie's had been extremely stressful from Jan-Mar. We felt this business was entirely unprof. I decided to take this matter to court. This turned out to be a bad decision. Georgie's had an attny ready.. We represented ourselves because it would cost us even more money to hire one.The court said our case was based upon heresay so we were out lots of money. Georgie's got paid for a job that was done incorrectly and we needed pay someone else to correct the work. Courts only seem to look at receipts, listen to witnesses and not much else. Lesson: I believe YOU NEED TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY,read reviews, never pay for a product in full until delivered and inspected. Pay with a Credit card. They allow you to dispute.-Expensive lesson learned.

Never ever will use or refer anyone this company again. Poorly Managed and worse of all, poorly behaved owner. Our complaints are the same as the others. With all the same issues. Lies, empty promises, money taken before service and so on. Let me add that a man who threatens a female customer is not the kind of man I care to ever deal with again. Not only is the owner ill mannered but his delivery employees are as well. Mark got right into my face and made derogatory remarks to a much older female customer he doesn't know personally. I have never met any shop managed as poorly as this one. If I had followed up on sites like these I would've known not to go near the shop. His reputation precedes throughout the community.

My wife and I had a great experience with Georgie's Flooring when they took over our home remodeling projects.

The most important quality we appreciated was the hands-on approach Georgie applied to his business. Everyone received us warmly in the store and Georgie came to our house to discuss our renovation ideas. He offered sound suggestions and quoted us an overall cost that was lower than two other area businesses.

The merchandise that he installed in our home was top-of-the-line and his skilled employees certainly met our standard of excellence. He recommended that the porcelain tile be installed diagonally and the finished product is outstanding. Georgie's employee, Eduardo, is a master craftsman. He was very diligent in his work and he took the time to produce a flawless project. The tile is lined up perfectly. There are no uneven areas and the lay-out is terrific. We recently had a visit from a retired tile craftsman who commented on the excellent installation of our tile floors and granite counter-tops.

Also, we love the changes in our kitchen. The new granite counter-tops are awesome! The guys at Unique Granite & Stone were very helpful when we met with them. They moved two large granite slabs outside of their store so we could see the true colors of the stone and compare it to our floor tile. We selected two pieces of granite that showcased the natural formation of the stone and the guys at Nature Coast Granite did a superb installation job. The beauty of this granite addition in our kitchen continues to draw admiration from our guests.

Georgie also recommended that we replace our kitchen backsplash with some small variegated tile and that was an excellent suggestion. Just this small update gave our kitchen a new look and we are very pleased with the outcome. Although we did not replace our cupboards, the new counter-tops and backsplash lend a modern look to an older kitchen and we are very satisfied with the results.

Lastly, we replaced the carpeting in our three bedrooms with a fabric that complemented the tile and is very comfortable. It was very obvious to us that Georgie's employee, Larry, was a seasoned veteran of the carpet trade. He installed the carpet without flaw and offered some insight into care. The carpet looks great and goes very well with the other renovations.

Overall, the excellence of Georgie's products and the workmanship of his employees are outstanding. He exceeded our expectations and our guests continue to compliment us on our new features.

While, his merchandise speaks for itself, we have thanked Georgie personally, for a job well done and for all of the personal attention he gave us throughout this remodeling venture.

This is a very poorly run business!!! They take your deposit gladly but never show up when they tell you and NEVER call that they arent coming. I had to call every time and see when someone was going to show up. Staff is fine but owner uses abusive language to customers!!! I am writing this review so other consumers wont have to deal with this business!!!!
