This place is just the most unprofessional and expensive place I have ever dealt with.
Let me start off by saying this isn't cheap, its probably the most expensive quote you will receive. But for a turn-key solution, I was willing to pay, due to my circumstances.
I was given a written quote and we corresponded over email and phone for a day. I had a firm moving date and made that clear from the beginning. Even though we had the date, and the agreement and I was told to pay on the monday morning because they couldnt process payment on weekends, I get a call saying that that date is now booked and the nearest next date is a week out.
Talk about finding a customer in a tight spot and trying to take advantage.
Horrible, horrible experience. Will never do business with them again
Absolutely the most professional, courteous and caring group of people I have had the pleasure of working with. Thank you for getting my move completed timely and zero damage to all of contents. I could not recommend another company for your moving needs.
My experience with this company was horrible. I called to get a quote for moving and a polite salesman came to the house. I really liked the idea of getting a solid quote for the entire move vs an hourly rate. We showed the sales guy what we were moving which included a front loading washing machine. He asked if we wanted them to secure the washer for moving (install moving bolts etc) and we said yes. He said we would love our quote and we did. The quote clearly listed the To and From addresses. For some reason the salesman only put in one mile in the calculation which we had not noticed since the addresses were correct. We called to accept the quote and setup the move. Immediately he said the mileage was wrong and upped the quote by 30%. Even though he clearly messed up the quote he refused to do anything for us. Basically it was "take it of leave it". A while later we decided to take the inflated quote anyways and again called the salesman. He immediately asked about the washer and stated it would be an additional $375 to have it secured for moving! This time we called his manager. She apologized but would do nothing.When we mentioned that we will be reporting this to the Revdex.com and United Van Lines CEO she connected us to the owner. The owner did not seem too concerned. He said since we didn't have a signed contract there was nothing he could do, How could we have a signed contract when every time we accept the terms they raise the price on us? We were already at the new location so this put us in a bind since it would be difficult to have other companies come to the house to give us a quote. . In the end we deciding to go through the hassle of getting another company as we can not trust that these guys will do what they say they will do .
Dallas Moving and Storage provided an excellent moving experience. The movers showed up on time, packed items with care, and delivered our belongings as expected. I would definitely recommend DMS to friends and family. I can honestly say the pricing was more economical than the competition that included no only the moving cost but also the insurance coverage. The free moving boxes was also a great bonus.
