Pizza and Ribs in Brooklyn, Ohio.  My letter is in response to the complaint we received from The Revdex.com on February 6, 2018.  I am happy to be able to provide a response to the claims made by the customer, [redacted] The customer mentioned in his letter that he returned to the store to complain about the quality of the ribs, yet failed to mention that he returned over 24 hours later. He returned to the store with only 2 bones remaining, when a full slab of ribs contains 12 bones. I can only assume that Mr. W[redacted] ate the other 10 bones, which must have been acceptable since they were eaten without issue. The customer then requested a full refund, 24 hours later, for a product that was over 3/4 of the way eaten. No reasonable business owner will be able to meet this request, a full day later, with nearly all of the product consumed. As for his claim to the over cooked ribs, the ribs were cooked perfectly, as they always are at my establishment. We take great care and pride to uphold the Geppetto's tradition of excellent food and service, and have been in business at this same location for over 12 years. In this time, we have never encountered any issues of complaints or unsatisfied customers.     It just so happened that at the same time that Mr. W[redacted] left our restaurant, another regular customer, who also happens to be a Brooklyn police officer, entered our establishment. He noticed the customer left angrily and inquired as to what was going on. We explained the incident, and showed him the 2 remaining bones left by Mr. W[redacted]. The officer agreed that the ribs were cooked perfectly and that we handled the situation appropriately. The officer was amazed at the audacity of Mr. W[redacted] attempting to get free food. We were under the same impression that Mr. W[redacted]'s complaint was just an attempt at getting free food. Unfortunately, as small business owners, we cannot afford to give away free food to customers in these types of situations.    We are very sorry that Mr. W[redacted] was not satisfied with his experience at Geppetto's, yet we cannot provide a refund for a product that was returned over 24 hours later and nearly completely eaten. Mr. W[redacted] is welcome to buy his ribs elsewhere in the future if he feels Geppetto's ribs are not prepared to his liking. We have been the same owners of the same establishment for over 12 years, and as stated in his letter, it appears that Mr. W[redacted] has visited us before and was satisfied. Therefore, we can only conclude that Mr. W[redacted]'s intentions were to get a free meal, and unfortunately, we are not able to run a small business while giving away free food.Thank you for your time and consideration of this case,Marie A[redacted]Geppetto's Pizza and Ribs[redacted]
