Gerber Collision & Glass Reviews (%countItem)

I set up an appointment to drop my truck off for repairs 1/26/19 which is a Saturday and due to my stringent work schedule that was the best day for me to do so. The office hours at this location on Saturday are 8am-12pm with no techs working that day. When I set up the appointment the receptionist told me to arrive by 12pm and leave the keys with the writer so that they could have my truck back to me by Wednesday. I took off of work early and drove 30-45 minutes to drop my vehicle off by the 12pm close time, only to find out when I arrived around 11:40 a.m. that they were closed. I started calling the location trying to get ahold of someone around 11pm to let them know I was on my way and got no answer. Thinking the shop was probably busy and no one could answer, I drove to the shop. Nobody bothered to call me ahead of time to tell me they would be closed or were closing early. This situation cost me roughly $150 from missing half a day of work (overtime) also the frustration of having to then cancel my rental car reservations, etc. This is unacceptable and very unprofessional. I will not be using Gerber Collision and glass nor will I be referring anyone to them in the future. They have cost me time, money and frustration !

We are disappointed to hear this and sincerely apologize for this frustrating experience. We understand that the General Manager Keith *** has been in contact with you to discuss your concerns. If we can assist you any further please feel free to give us a call.

I scheduled a appointment a week ago for my vehicle to be towed into Gerber Collision and glass of Valparaiso. It is for a insurance claim. I had *** tow it in over $100 Wednesday around 9am 1/23/19. I get a call from Gerber after the truck has been dropped off to them. They tell me I have to come in and sign to authorize the work to be done. I had already sent estimates via-email ,so thought was strange already. I get there thinking they wanted me to sign paper work and get started on my vehicle. Instead the reception lady asks how would you feel if we sent this to one of our sister stores. I ask where? and no answer is given. I ask how long ? no answer is given. I said I have a appointment scheduled here at your Valparaiso Gerber Collison Branch, not across the county or state. Seems as if this is bad business ,as I scheduled a appointment and was denied work the day if is towed in. I had never received a phone call the whole week I scheduled it to come in letting me know of this change. I know they are trying to hire another desk girl and it seems to be needed immediately as your current desk workers cant handle the job. If your business cant handle the work then don't tell me you can or try and push me off on another location because you screwed up. The is a company vehicle not a personal vehicle I needed this. Gerber Collision Valparaiso Branch is responsible for this and shall be accounted for on it. You guys are a waste of everything. I will never look to you in the future or any of my family or friend. They will be persuaded elsewhere.

To whom in may concern,

We are trying to respond to the above complaint that we received on 2/7/2019 and see the Revdex.com has closed this case. We would like to provide our response if at all possible which I have provided below.

Response:

Gerber Collision & Glass - Valparaiso was made aware of the complainant's concerns and when the vehicle was fully inspected we identified that we could not handle such a large repair, we offered to move it to another Gerber Collision & Glass location with the ability to repair it. The complainant declined our offer and we reimbursed him for the original towing expense and also paid for the tow back to his house per complainant's request. Our Indiana Market Manager attempted to contact the complainant to discuss his concerns further, he is unwilling to communicate with us and has yet to return our calls.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:Stop lying. Your front desk girl told me that the vehicle was never even looked at when I told her Green’s Towing said Gerber Collisin is thinking of totalling out your vehicle ,and if they do bring to us, he said. I guess that never happened either as Gerber Collison is so very right over this ordeal. I think not. Get your business together for everyone’s sake.

Sincerely,

Korey

Gerber Collision and Glass received the location information for my vehicle from my insurance company on 12/27/2018. The contact number was attached to the email as well. I confirmed that the number attached to the order was valid, because I have a copy of the information. They Googled the number instead and could not get the tow company on the phone. Gerber proceeded to close my case. Meanwhile, I was notified on 12/27/2018 by Gerber that my vehicle was being repaired. I called to check on my vehicle last week and was told it was canceled. My rental coverage was only 30 days and Gerber is refusing to extend/reimburse me for the rental!!!

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Jan 18, 2019

We are disappointed to see this and understand how frustrating this can be. We understand that the General Manager Austin H. has made contact with customer on 1/16/19 advising that the rental coverage will be covered by Gerber Collision & Glass starting 1/16/19 and will be covered until the vehicle is completed with repairs. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you.

After running over a strip of tire that was lying in the middle of the highway, I took my 2015 *** to the Gerber Collision & Glass located at *** Raleigh, NC for an estimate. The photos I had taken made it clear that the front bumper and grill would need to be replaced, but the car was running perfectly fine, so I hoped that no additional work would be necessary. An estimate was written on 12/18/2018 in the amount of $1,782.17, asserting that I not only needed to replace the bumper and grill but also the radiator support and AC condenser. Shocked by the amount of repair work he wrote up (not to mention the price tag), I took my car to two additional places, both of which are highly rated and trustworthy. BOTH of them told me that there is nothing wrong with the condenser or radiator support! The estimate for these repairs at an honest shop is only $745 -- more than $1,000 less than Gerber's estimate. I am disgusted, especially since my former insurance company had been sending me to Gerber for years! Who knows how many times they have ripped me off, only to get more money from my insurance company (which ultimately drives up MY premiums)?
From now on, I will warn everyone I know not to take their car to Gerber!

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Jan 02, 2019

We sincerely apologize for any confusion with the written estimate to repair your vehicle and understand that the shop estimator Dwight S. has tried to reach out to you to go over any concerns. If there is a better phone number or email we can reach you at please let us know we would love to get this resolved, you can also reach us at 919***. Thank you!

Completely horrible service. They rushed to say the work was finished and it was not. What's worse, they damaged my vehicle in the process of "repairing" it. When vehicle was brought back in with complaint, I was met with constant excuses and a manager with a bad attitude. Instead of a "make it right" attitude, the general manager's attitude was to take the work somewhere else. HORRIBLE!

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Dec 21, 2018

We are disappointed to hear about your experience with the manager at Gerber. I understand that the Market Manager Doug C. has reached out to you to discuss your concerns as well as you are scheduled to go back to the location to have your concerns addressed with the alignment and traction control light problem. We sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience this has caused you and want to thank you for bringing this to our attention. Thank you

Customer Response • Jan 27, 2019

Thanks to Corporate involvement, this situation was addressed and remedied. Thank you for your assistance!

I went to Gerber Collision & Glass for a body repair to my 2014 *** 500 Sport by suggestion of my mother and a few locals to the Las Vegas area. I had a minor car accident and had body work done as well as had my steering realigned. I dropped my car off on Monday and had it back by Thursday. However within a week of having it my car locked up due to a short cut (using zip ties in place of damaged radiator clips) which caused a chain reaction where my fluid line a a cut in it when the radiator pushed back Into it each time I accelerated. This caused my engine to overheat and lock up, none of which I knew about because my check engine light never came on to alert me that there was possibly anything wrong. When I had my car towed the tow truck driver told me I was lucky this hadn’t happened when I was driving because I couldn’t even turn my car on let alone move it. This was a very dangerous and scary situation that should have and could have been avoided had my repair be done correctly the first time. And although Gerber has a lifetime warranty on all repairs I was too afraid to take it to them, and on the day this occurred they closed early at noon. Overall I would wish this experience on my worst enemy.

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Dec 20, 2018

Gerber Collision & Glass has attempted to get in contact with the complainant via phone and email with no return communication by complaint. Gerber Collision & Glass has already corrected the zip ties for complainant’s radiator support and did not complete any repairs on the cooling system. Gerber Collision & Glass had contacted the customer via phone and email to return with vehicle their vehicle for diagnostics last month when advised on customer concern’s and had received no return communication as well.

In regards to the Gerber collision on Alex *** rd in Dayton Ohio, we waited several days for them to do something or anything for us but got zero results. They (Gerber) were recommended as a “preferred” service provider, they are not so. We had it towed there because of broken glass and were told they re-wrapped the window to withstand the weather (they lied). I will not use or recommend this company again. I have also so advised my Ins. Co.
They are a bad apple in the bunch.

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Dec 11, 2018

The General Manager of the Gerber Collision & Glass - Dayton/Alex Bell Rd. location made contact with the complainant and apologized for any misunderstanding. He further explained that Gerber did not have authorization from the complainant's insurer to repair the vehicle. Upon arrival the broken window was properly covered and not needing further attention.

Customer Response • Dec 11, 2018

The repairs were authorized, they lied. The broken window was covered,by me,not them, they lied. They were a huge waste of time and a awful inconvenience in cold weather. I will warn others regarding this.

RE: Gerber Collision & Glass – Gary

Claim#: ***2

I took my auto into Gerber Collision for accident repairs. I was promised twice that the auto would be ready in two (2) weeks.

I recently received an email stating the repairs will take five (5) weeks. THIS IS A CASE OF BAIT AND SWITCH. The company knowingly lied.

Sincerely

Barbara

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Nov 28, 2018

Upon beginning repairs Gerber Collision & Glass identified additional damages requiring replacement of a major body panel The complainant was contacted on 11/20/2018 to discuss her concerns with the completion date. Paul from the repair center advised the complainant that we are on schedule and would keep her updated throughout the repair process. Gerber Collision & Glass remains focused on providing high quality repairs in a timely manner.

Customer Response • Nov 29, 2018

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

Sincerely,

Barbara ***

IT IS ILLEGAL TO "BAIT AND SWITCH."

That is what this company does habitually. To get your business, they intentionally deceive you (BY ***) into thinking your repairs will be completed in 2 weeks. Once this company gets your commitment, they take their time completing the work by doing the following: 1) not starting immediately; 2) not ordering parts immediately; and 3) completing repairs on previously-arrived cars.

Punitive damages to prevent other customers from experiencing this injustice should be to forfeit the funds I may owe them. //B

I was in an accident in May of 2018. My insurance company, ***, referred me to Gerber to handle the estimate and repair. All was fine at the time of estimation and drop off. The vehicle had both drivers side doors and the B-pillar Damaged in the accident. Gerber quoted to replace all three at time of estimation. I dropped my vehicle off and awaited the repairs. Approximately 3 weeks later I received a call letting me know my vehicle was ready for pickup. Once I arrived I realized that the pillar had been repaired instead of replaced. The repair did not look right and I was told that it met industry standards and there was nothing they could do to make it better. I continued to stand by my complaint but nothing was ever done to check the work or repair it. Fast forward 5 months later and I am in another accident. Thankfully this time in the front of my vehicle no in the side where the original damage was. Upon inspection at the new collision facility they noticed there was something weird about the repair and fitment of the previous work. Upon measurement it was out 5mm and forward. They removed the repaired outer panel to find that the inner panel was damaged. So my intuition was correct that there was still damage not seen. Upon Reading the repair process from *** on the outer panel it states that the inner panel cannot be repaired and has to be replaced as a whole piece, the complete door frame. By them not inspecting the inner and just mudding over the outer panel they put mine and my families lives at risk. Not repairing a main structural component of the car. The did not follow the manufacturers guidelines for repair procedures on the pillar by failing to inspect the inner pillar.

I am rejecting this response because:

I think the car should be totalled or bought by gerber. They damaged my car further and have caused me an extreme inconvenience. Also I have not been able to use my vehicle I am paying for.

If I could give this place NO stars I would. I took my Jeep in for hail damage. they "replaced" the hood. my Jeep Is black, my entire jeep had green spots all over it. I'm guessing green paint. My windows are tinted so when I got my jeep back the back window was completely clear. They did not mention I was getting a new window. so I called as soon as I noticed and the girl that answered said "oh really? I thought they would have told you." They came to my house to tint the window. It looks completely different from my other windows. I left it at that. I picked up my jeep on 7/6/18 they called 9/25/18 almost THREE months later!!! saying they didn't have my $500 deposit!! I paid cash and never received a receipt, and that's my fault? that the girls up front did not put it in the receipt book???? or document this!? this is ridiculous! I don't think they would have allowed me to leave with out paying my deductible. This place is so unorganized! I will NEVER be coming back to this place :)

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Oct 15, 2018

We apologize for the miscommunication in your deductible payment. It is my understanding that we have found record of payment for the deductible and there is no longer a pending balance. Thank you for making us aware of this matter.

Our *** truck was involved in a collision on 1/2/18. Gerber Collision made repairs, and we picked up the truck on 3/22/18. As part of the repair, Gerber worked on its air conditioning system.

In early August, the air conditioning started to blow warm air. We took it to Gerber on August 8, 2018,and the A/C was again blowing cool air.

The air conditioning was again blowing warm air last week. We took it to Gerber on September 5, 2018, and the A/C was again blowing cool air.

The air conditioning started to blow warm air again today, or Tuesday, September 11, 2018.

As I have taken the truck back to Gerber to be fixed for the same issue twice and the problem is happening a third time, I am writing to ask for the assistance of the Revdex.com with this issue.

I am alleging that Gerber has not been able to fix the problem with the truck's air conditioning so that it is not fixed on a long-term basis.

This complaint is not in litigation and has not been resolved by a previous court action, arbitration, or settlement between us.

Thank you for your help.

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Sep 28, 2018

We understand the General Manager Jim J. has reached out to the complainant. The complainant will be dropping the vehicle off on Monday 10/1/18 at Gerber Collision & Glass in which Gerber Collision and Glass will be having the complainant's vehicle looked at by Berge ***. Thank you

Customer Response • Sep 30, 2018

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

The air conditioning system was working well prior to the accident.

Gerber had initial opportunity and two follow-ups which have resulted in the system not working again.

Hopefully, Berge *** can rectify the problem.

Sincerely,

Karen

I dropped my car off at this company's colorado springs location on Palmer Park on August 9th for hail and collision repair. I was told my car would be completed by September 21st. I received multiple text messages confirming this September 21st date of completion. On August 31st, the text message specifically stated that my Subaru was 50% complete. September 19th, I arrived to find my car completely torn apart with nothing completed. At this point, they are trying to appease me with $500 in gift cards, a full interior clean, and a rental car for the additional 3-4 weeks that is needed to complete my car. Corporate headquarters had the local shop call me in order to try to talk me into removing my negative feedback on their website.

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Oct 03, 2018

We are disappointed to hear this and sincerely apologize for this frustrating experience. We understand that your vehicle has been completed and upon pick up the estimator Carolyn went over the repairs with you. We apologize for any frustration this has caused. Thank you.

After being in a fender bender in July, the person who had run into me, their insurance (***) had guided me to Gerber Collision. They had told me that in order for them to cover my damages I was required to get an estimate from Gerber and being a young female, I had just followed instructions not knowing that I was in fact NOT obligated to go to Gerber but could have gone anywhere else. While at Gerber, a woman came out and began circling the damage to my car. I had assumed that the insurance was going to cover all damage to my car, even previous damage as that is how I believed insurance worked. Well, the woman marked all damage to my car and I stood by and watched. She did not ask if the damage was from the present accident or if the damage was from the accident at all she just sort of circled everything. Once done she had me sign a form stating that *** was going to cover all the damage and that I would receive a written estimate when the estimate was done. Well, when the estimate came out it was $11K in damages and *** called and said that my car was totaled and they would only cover $10K. I said that's fine, just have them repair it to the point where its running and I'll take the rest of the money in a check and get the rest fixed elsewhere. Well after not hearing back for several days, sometimes weeks, I would get an occasional call. Eventually, I got a call from *** saying that I was a "liar" and that I had told them that all damages to my car was from the current accident and they were not going to cover the rest of the damage. So I told them I didn't know that, if they would just fix the rear and give me my car Ill get the rest fixed another day. My car had been in perfect running order before I brought it to this collision center. Now theyre saying they cannot put it back together with it running and that they dont have the original parts anymore. I also never got a written statement and had to pay $195 to get my car back, which was the labor fee for taking my car apart!

Gerber Collision & Glass has been in contact with the complainant to review the damage to the front end and also emailed a copy to her. The complainant is unsure at this time if she is going to proceed with the repairs and will contact us if she would like to move forward.

I am writing this regarding Gerber Collision & Glass - Redmond located on *** NE *** St
Redmond, WA 98052. When we had a collision last year Gerber came highly recommended so we chose to use them. Upon the finished repairs of the vehicle and leaving we were told that there was nothing due and that insurance took care of it. I have been working with Scott for the last month or so and he has been great I feel that the business made a mistake in their commitment by stating that it was covered and nothing was due and then contacting months later (by email, not phone, not USPS mail, etc) that $500 was due.

I explained to Scott that both my parents have terminal cancer and he has been great in working with me but I am highly disappointed in the fact that my wife and I were told one thing and now are being told another.

Typically, you would collect any $ that was due prior to handing over the keys of the vehicle and letting them go on their way.

I would not recommend Gerber in the future and and I definitely will not return.

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Sep 18, 2018

We understand the General Manager Scott S. has reached out to the complainant via email to explain the deductible and the amount owed. We understand the complainant has contacted Gerber to pay the full amount owed. Thank you.

Customer Response • Sep 21, 2018

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: while yes I paid the amount in full with the understanding of the deductible it was however, described at the pickup of the vehicle that there was a ZERO balance due and felt like unethical business practice to come back after 6+ months seeking $ when it was told by the business that there was NOTHING due.

Sincerely,

Frank

Beware of this shop. Dishonest and abusive is what I would call the service offered. Gerber Collision and Glass, on *** was the body shop recommended by my insurance for minor hail damage. The odometer on my vehicle at drop of on 08/16/18 was 38,768 miles. When the vehicle was finally ready for pick up 26 days later 09/11/18, the odometer reading was 39,248 miles. There are 480 miles of unexplained usage of my vehicle during the time at Gerber Collision and Glass. According to DORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies) and the Revdex.com, Gerber Collision and Glass caused a Depreciation in Value of my vehicle. This is unacceptable. It is a breach of trust and total inappropriate way to treat a paying customer. Remember, Gerber Collision and Glass is getting payed for a service they advertise, and here you come to find out that you actually end up paying unwittingly for the wear and tear of your vehicle, for them using your vehicle for their private use and amusement. Note that they had my vehicle over the Labor Day weekend, so it's easy to imagine where the 480 Miles got racked up. Someone took my vehicle for their holiday ride? Summary, don't trust your vehicle to Gerber Collision and Glass, as if they are dishonest, can you imagine their ethics towards the repairs they perform? Can you really trust that they actually do the repairs the way they are supposed to be done? In my case, I'm having a really hard time believing that part of the business is honest.

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Sep 18, 2018

My *** F-*** was rear ended by another vehicle on July 15th 2018, I took vehicle to Gerber Collision & Glass an A+ repair facility according to *** Insurance. After three weeks my vehicle was said to have been repaired but after inspection many flaws were discovered mainly inside fenders had been pounded out and filled with body filler. Tail gate was not repaired properly and correct spray liner was not used. Contacted *** Insurance who sent an adjuster to the facility and agreed the repairs had not been done correctly. August 31st 2018 vehicle was said to been repaired. After further inspection inside fenders had just been sprayed with under coating but is still unacceptable, tailgate looks no different than before and will not close properly. large gap on one side of tailgate and none on the other. new rear bumper does not fit properly both sides stick out from truck body. Paint has dust and debris all in it and ripples can be seen all along the side of truck. From center of left side rear wheel to fender is over one inch different then on the right side where repairs had ben made.

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Sep 18, 2018

Gerber Collision & Glass has been in contact with the complainant. Complainant's vehicle is currently at Gerber Collision & Glass for corrective repairs and complainant is covered in rental vehicle.

I took my vehicle in for repair and they caused more damage than it initially had. Then They got the vehicle to an acceptable repair except for the rare view camera. I went in and they said they will contact me to schedule the repair within 24 hours. It’s been 5 days. I called them and emailed and no response yet.

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Jul 23, 2018

Gerber Collision & Glass contacted complainant and brought their vehicle to the dealership for calibration. The complainant was given invoices and pictures. Gerber Collision & Glass and the complainant were unable to come to resolution and were informed if there is another dealership that will inform them it is not correct Gerber Collision & Glass would make it right.

Gerber Collision & Glass on Post Road was responsible for repairing my vehicle from an accident that occurred in March. Upon completion of my vehicle, I have experienced oil leaks under the vehicle with the coolant box being completely dry. The vehicle was always towed back to Gerber and I never drove the vehicle nor started the vehicle after noticing the major oil leaks. Additionally, I have provided Gerber with exact information to help determine/resolve the problem in hopes to not cause more damage to my vehicle. However, the third issue resulted in a blown head, which I tried to tell them when I experienced the second oil leak under my vehicle (they ignored my assumption and claimed that the reason for the oil leak was due to an open *** by the radiator which they never noticed until the second oil leak incident). Now, my vehicle's head is blown and they are refusing to pay the damage claiming it is not related to the accident which I disagree with. Someone forgot to close the *** which caused the oil to leak and the engine head to blow. I feel that even though the problem is not related to the accident, their repairs to the vehicle did cause the problem and therefore, should be responsible to pay for the engine repairs. Due to the limited characters on this, I am not able to provide details of the issue so please give me call and I will provide details of my full complaint.

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Jul 12, 2018

Gerber Collision & Glass has been in contact with the complainant to discuss her concerns regarding the engine repairs and fees. Gerber has agreed to to split the cost in half with the complainant, at this time she declined the offer and said she will contact the shop back with a decision.

DO NOT USE ANY GERBER COLLISION & GLASS AUTO CENTER!!!!!!!!
I was in a rear in collision and the other party insurance company referred me to this horrible place. It took 2 weeks to replace a bumper that, until now I found out the bumper was never replaced just painted over. My bumper is now tearing from the screw they put on with the same bumper, and the GM is telling me I or someone else jumped on my own bumper and tore the plastic off the bumper. Really I have that much time in my day to jump on my own bumper and want to deal with this company again. I think NOT. U.S District Court here we go!!!

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Jul 12, 2018

We are disappointed to hear about about your concern with your bumper. I understand the General Manager Matthew *** has sent you an email in hopes of rectifying the concerns. Please advise if you have other means of contact. We apologize for any frustration this has caused. Thank you.

after gerber "repaired" my cars bumper and fender,I recieved it all messed up. Fender was sticking up,loose tacks in fender and bumper, bumper off alignment. they even painted the first fender the wrong color. I took it back 3 times to 2 different gerber locations. They kept saying they will fix the bumper under warranty and failed to do so. I was told by market manager they dont know how to fix what they screwed up. the warranty states clearly, gerber will correct the repair free, or refund my money. They are not honoring the warranty. Have tried severel times to either have gerber pay for the screwed up job they did, or pay me half my money back for half of a job and they wont.

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Jul 03, 2018

We warranty our workmanship for as long as a customer owns the vehicle, complainant was previously made aware of a repair quality concerns and offered to meet to coordinate a vehicle inspection with a unbiased 3rd party to bring this to a resolution. We continue to suggest this approach. It should also be know, complainant had credit card payments for services provided reversed of which we are contesting. Tell us why here...

Gerber Collision & Glass Response • Aug 01, 2018

Gerber Collision & Glass has been in contact with the complainant via email to discuss the warranty workmanship and have requested an estimate from a 3rd party bodyshop to review the corrective repairs. The complainant has notified Gerber that he will send the estimate once we have responded to the Revdex.com.
