Germantown Car Wash

My vehicle was damaged by Germantown Car Wash during a recent visit to the business to clean my new car. My family and I have been loyal customers of Germantown Car Was for many years. Although the service is not what I would consider good, it is the best of what is available in the Memphis area. This week I took my new vehicle, with 500 miles on it, to Germantown Car Wash. During the wash cycle my car was allowed to hit another vehicle on the wash belt causing damage to my vehicle. Specifically the grill was damaged and the front bumper was scraped badly. I will need to replace the grill and have body work performed to the bumper. I took my car to a local body shop to get an estimate to repair the damage caused. The Germantown Car Wash manager on duty at the time of the accident said they would reimburse me and we could work out other details to compensate for the my time and the negligence of their employees. When I returned two days later, the next day the business was closed due to inclement weather, I received a check paying for repairs. However, they still made me pay for the service which was sub par and caused other damage to my vehicle besides the damage to the bumper and grill. My car was perfect when I took it to them and now there are surface scratches all over it. When I asked for a refund I was informed me that no refunds would be given because I did not ask them to do so the day of the wash. That was not the case on the day the incident occurred. The business did offer me a voucher for a free wash but, I refuse to take another vehicle to Germantown Car Was for fear of damage and overall lack of quality service. Desired SettlementI do not want any monetary compensation. Instead, I want everyone in the [redacted] area to know how Germantown Car Wash treats their customers and how negligent the employees are. It was an extremely busy day with the sun finally coming out. We immediately paid for the repairs, as we said we would do. We also offered a free voucher to Mr. [redacted] as that is our policy but he refused. Germantown Carwash washed 6,534 vehicles in 2013. Incidents do happen and we do all possible to minimize. Nonetheless, incidents do happened. As for the wash being closed because of inclement weather, we apologize for that. Again, we apologize to Mr. [redacted] and hope he would continue as a customer.

Carwash was negligent in damaging my car. Purchased Premium wash from Germantown Carwash 7601 Poplar, Germantown TN @3:06; Asian lady that took order assured me that they had someone to move the car who could drive a manual shift; they by chance avoided ramming it into the car behind as the drive didn't know what he was doing; then got it into the car wash and as it exited no one drove it off the line - it was hit by the car behind it (I have the witness' name) I actually had to run out of the customer area and into the car wash to move it off the wash line to keep it from being jammed into the wall avoiding further damage; the manager gave me a written notification (I have the original) that the Car Wash would pay for the damages. When I presented him with the bill he thought it was too much and declined to pay. The bill came from[redacted] was $547. [redacted] says the only way to fix the bumper was to paint the entire bumper; the car wash doesn't want to do that. And, they won't pay for a rental car. There was a witness, the person whose car hit mine. Desired SettlementPayment in full for the repairs $547 plus a rental car of equal value for 3 days $160 total of $707. It takes very little time for corrective work, yetMr. [redacted] wants THREE days cost of a rental car.We believe Mr. [redacted] is not being reasonable. We are willing to settle with Mr. [redacted] but not to the extentof a complete renovation to his bumper nor for three days costof a rental car.
