Germantown Contractors

Review: My shutters were damaged during Hurricane Sandy. I hired Germantown Contractors to repair and in some cases replace damaged shutters. I gave them a deposit of $2500 on April 27, 2013 for the work. Based on several phone conversations with the owner, Andre Goldbold, they have not started stripping and refinishing the damaged shutters or ordered replacement hardware, and they have not ordered new shutters. Nothing has been done to start or complete my job except the estimate. In the meantime, Germantown Contractors continues accept and complete other jobs which are easier/ less time consuming and the owner says that they will get to my job eventually.Desired Settlement: I want my job completed by Germantown Contractors. My insurance company Liberty Mutual is ultimately responsible for paying for the shutter repair. They provided me with the deposit and will provide me with the balance when the work is completed. The amount of money they are providing for the job is based on Germantown Contractors' estimate. If I have to look for a new contractor the funds provided by Liberty Mutual may or may not cover the cost of the work. If Germantown Contractors is not able to complete the job then I would expect that they return the $2500 and the shutters, and that they covered the cost of the work that exceeds the funds provided by my insurance company. I would like to see this issue resolved in the next 2 weeks if possible.
