Review: I purchased 2008 Mustang on Wednesday April 24th.But on Saturday April 27th I had to call Larry due to the check engine light had came on and I had to bring the car in to have it checked which I had already had it checked to make sure I was getting told it wasnt something else since I am a female. Lisa the service tech checked me in had the car looked at. She came out roughly 15 mins later telling me it was nothing & they just turned my light off. I ask her what the problem was and she stated to me its cause of the aftermarket exhaust on the car. I expressed to her that was not the problem and she took me to the GM Chris he tried to tell me the same thing and I told him I know the code and it was the catalytic convertor bank 1! If it was the exhaust I would have 2 codes that would be a PO420 Bank 1 & PO430 Bank 2 and this isnt the case.I explain to them I have been in the car business for many years and know my cars and also my rights! Chris stated to me he would not have sold the car if it had problems which did not meet NC State Inspection but I only had the car for 3 days and it does meet Nc State Inspection! I expressed my concerned to him and the customer service I received was awful due to when I signed papers on this vehicle I signed a paper stating I have a 30 day/1,000 mile warranty & I only had my car for 3 days and Im at the dealership with this issue that didnt get handle! It was like lets just turn the light out to get her past the 1,000 mile warranty then it will be on her. On Tuesday April 30th I had to call back to the dealership due to the fact the check engine light came back on couldnt get Chris on the phone and the service dept didnt answer but Larry was quick to pick up to help us! We had also tried to reach Brad Wood but were unsuccessful also. I have put over 120 miles on my car bringing it to the dealership for this and they are refusing to fix the problem. I have had the car for 1 week it will not pass inspection!Desired Settlement: I want my problem fixed on my car! Gerry Wood Promise isn't standing behind their word!

Response:

Below is my email to the complaintant from 5/1/2013 @ 4:16pm.

[redacted],

I reviewed with [redacted] all

documentation from of the Mustang from when we got it to when we sold it to

you. These documents included our pre-delivery inspection, the North Carolina

State Inspection pass sheet, The coverage of the 1 month, 1,000 mile warranty

offered on the car which was clearly posted on the Federal Buyers Guide on the

window of the vehicle while on display on our lot and with your signature on

that document. [redacted] is a mechanic and stated he clearly understood what I was

saying. I also covered the fact that an extended service contract was offered

to you at the time of purchase, and that coverage was declined by you both.

[redacted] explained that he elected not to pay for extended service contract

coverage because “I can fix anything that goes wrong”.

While I established that we are

under no legal, ethical or moral obligation to help you in this concern, or any

subsequent concerns, I did make a very generous offer to him to split the cost

of the repair for this specific and only concern with your car. [redacted] declined

that offer and asked for your keys back. Unfortunately, this marks the end of

our attempt to assist you and [redacted] in any way with this repair.

I apologize that you all are not

happy with our dealership. I feel we did everything above board, and made an

offer well above what most dealers would have, but you both obviously feel

differently. We have all documentation to prove these facts. Any action on your

part to seek damages, file a complaint with the Revdex.com or contact the Attorney

General’s office will be responded to with fierce opposition. I caution that we

take all liable and slanderous activities very seriously, so please consider

very carefully any public verbal or written statements that is contrary to the

facts of this event prior to doing so.

The complainant then emailed me asking for documentation. My reply to that request sent 05/02/2013 @ 9:06am is below:

I

have not even read your email.

You

have registered a complaint against us with the Revdex.com in spite of the fact that I

clearly showed [redacted] you have no grounds upon which to do so, except to be upset

you didn't purchase an extended service agreement.

Review: As requested by an employee named ** at Gerry Wood Auto Group, I provided them with 4 months bank statements and a nc auto registration correspondence from the DMV to show average of bank deposits and proof of address to apply or a car loan. My salesperson was [redacted]. After spending most of the day April13,2013 at the dealership we were unable to agree on a car/and terms to my satisfaction. That is not the issue. The issue is they will not return my personal property (bank statements and DMV correspondence. I asked at least 5 times with no response. I was promised return phone calls from the salesperson, [redacted], as well as the sales manager and finance manager. I called yet another time and spoke to [redacted] and she promised to mail them to my address. It's been over two weeks and they still have not returned my property. I left a message for an owner to call me with no response. My concern is that the personal information will get into the wrong hands. They are very slack about privacy. They left my papers on a desk in the main showroom for anyone to see. When I expressed my concern they just turned the papers over and said it wasn't an issue.Desired Settlement: I want my personal papers back. I also expect a return phone call when promised.

Response:

We have returned the documents as requested, however they were sent back undeliverable. Attached is a scanned image of the postage stamp proving this fact. If he would kindly reply with a valid address then we'd be happy to ship it to that address.

I am rejecting this response because:

I gave [redacted] my mailing address in our very first telephone conversation. If fact, one of the very documents I have asked to be returned is the document they asked for to prove my residence. It is an original document from the DMV with the correct address. The bank statements have a different address only because we are in the process of moving and I will be changing banks but only wish to do so after the move is complete. I will be satisfied completely when the bank statements and DMV documents are returned.

Response:

I just don’t understand. “Rejecting the response”?

The response was and offer for me to send them back! I just need an address, that is a deliverable address, that’s all. I appreciate the processes with the Revdex.com, but I

have offered to mail these in my initial response. Just give me the address and

they will be mailed today. I also scanned and uploaded the envelope showing we did in fact try to mail them. There is the post office stamping, return label, etc. All of those dates were PRIOR to you filing a compaint with the Revdex.com (a redicuous step having not contacted the owner of a compeny) Common now, give credit where it's due for trying.

This is rediculous! Where is the CBB "Customer Business Bureau" where a business owner can complain about a lack of intelligence of an individual or desire to cooperate?

If you cannot tell by this point, I am past frustrated with this! JUST GIVE ME THE ADDRESS!!!!!!

Review: I bought a vehicle and the Monroney Sticker (Sticker on the window you always see) was not on the vehicle. I ask about it and I have not gotten it. They just brushed it off like it was no big deal. I would like to get the Sticker to the car I purchased because I actually do not really know what all is on the vehicle and honestly I really don't know if they told me what it was really listed at. They wrote down the price that they said was the price of the vehicle and also wrote down the aftermarket items price. Well I have no idea what all aftermarket items I have and so forth either. So please I do hope this helps me get me the original sticker that was suppose to be on the vehicle window at the time of purchase. I have read a lot of pages concerning the Monroney Sticker and I do know that it is required by law. Well I don't have one. At this time I don't know what else to do except email you and the Attorney General about my complaint.Desired Settlement: Just would like to have my original sticker that went in the window of my vehicle as all new cars are suppose to have where I would really and truely know what all I do have and so forth and actually what it really was worth.

Business

Response:

We received a request from Ms. [redacted] to provide the documentation regarding the pricing of her purchase, and the contract and worksheet. We promptly sent scanned copies of those documents which clearly outline the figures of the purchase. We have not received a request for a window sticker or vehicle addendum until this point. We would have gladly addressed this question, as we have all of her other questions in the past.

We laminate the original window stickers and addendums as a courtesy to our clients so they can retain those documents for the long haul. It is not our practice to retain these items, and they are provided to the customer. At this time Gerry Wood Honda is not in possession of these items.

With regards to "what was installed", we can say this;

The vehicle was sold to Ms. [redacted] with the following accessories installed at the dealership on her car prior to sale;

Wheel locks

Mud Guards

Trunk Tray

Window Tint.

If we can be of further assistance with Ms. [redacted]s concerns please don't hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

General Manager

Gerry Wood Honda.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I ask for the window sticker at purchase and the matter was brushed away and I still don't have the window sticker. I do know though it is a law for me to have one. I will and have difinitly learned a leason from all of this. Some people just don't care. But you know what I am not going to fight over this cause it is not worth it. If they can live with it then that is fine and I hope they have a great day! I have never been so discouraged with a car dealership as I have with Gerry Wood Honda. I am so sick and tired of even discussing matters with them.

Regards,

Review: I purchased a used Toyota Camry on Friday. The staff was nothing but nice they gave me $500 more for my trade in value. Once we agreed upon a sales price on a work sheet I signed it.The paperwork I signed had a sale price of 16,991.00. The items listed below read sale price $16,991.00 and ETCH $199.00. Total price read $17,190.00. The sales man told me ETCH is on all vehicles. It's is something you can't get out of. I was fine with that. After signing the contracts for my vehicle the manager had me sign a paper that was for a additional Appearance package. The cost was $499. He told me this was like ETCH it was on all cars and is worked into the price of the car. He said this was mandatory. I did sign it. After reviewing the contract it clearly shows the list price of the vehicle $16492.00. Underneath it shows additional equipment: Appearance package $499.00. Then it states total price including options $16991.00. I do not want this additional package it is of no value to me. It covers clear coat and carpet stains. It's a 2012 car with black interior. I also park in a garage. The plan is for 12 months. It has no value for me. I have spoken to the managers and to [redacted] the owner. They are all telling me it's at no cost to me and I agreed on the sales price. Also [redacted] said the time to talk about this was before I signed. I feel like I was tricked into signing. I bought the car without my husband so I guess it's my fault. But this is not right. By the contract I'm am paying $499 for something I will never use. On top of that they told me it was mandatory! It is a option! (As listed on contract.) I feel like I was taken advantage of and they know that I will never use this package that was easy extra money for them. What bothers me the most is that they all tried me make me feel like I was in the wrong. And clearly I was lied to. When the sales manager pulled up a work sheet it stated Appearance $499. The sheet they had me sign did not! I have copies of all three work sheets.Desired Settlement: As contract states I would like to finance $16492.00 not $16991.00. That would be a refund of $499.00 with no Appearance package. I have called around to other dealers and they all have this listed as a option not figured into the sales price. (The above figure is not including tags title and fees.)I just want the $499 that is owed to me.

Business

Response:

I spoke to the customer on the phone about this concern, perhaps after this was filed? We agreed that the price she offered to pay for the car is the total cost she paid. For disclosure we worked the figures like this. She did not pay more than her offer on the car, even with this coverage. In essence, the coverage was given at no extra cost. [redacted]

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I filed this after I spoke to [redacted]. As stated I feel like I was tricked into the sales price. The package cost an additional $499. I'm not sure why they keep saying its free. I have the contract. The package was never brought up until I signed the contract. I previously stated on The other email that no other dealership automatically adds this to the sales price. It is a option. There is no way this is mandatory. The items in the contract listed as mandatory are Dealer administrative fee and secure ETCH . All other items are added in. I still would like a refund of $499.I have a copy of the contract if needed.

Review: I recently went to Gerrywood to finance a vehicle on April, 30,2015 [redacted] the salesman and [redacted] told me that I was approved I signed all paper work for the vehicle. [redacted] called my insurance company stating the approval and added the vehicle to my policy and let me drive off the lot with the car putting a 500 down payment then [redacted] called back on May,09,2015 saying the loan was not approved so I ask could I get my down payment back they told me no I could not get my deposit back I feel this is vehicle fraud also I called the DMV they stated that the car dealership didn't send the vehicle registration but I was giving a 30 tag to drive the vehicle off the lot they told me congratulations on your car and to resolve this I just want my $500 back.Desired Settlement: My down payment of $500

Review: Gerry Wood Kia is guilty of Bait and Switch. I was quoted a price through email for a specific car. I was told that I would test drive that car. When I arrived, I was shown what I thought was the car and test drove it. When we sat down to crunch the numbers, the car was then $4,000+ more than what I was quoted. I was then told that the car that I test drove had "add-ons," yet it was the same car discussed in the email. It wasn't. The whole thing was dishonest.Desired Settlement: I just want someone to whom Gerry Wood will listen to tell him that what he is doing is wrong.

Response:

[redacted] came in last night and worked with [redacted], and [redacted]. She was on a specific vehicle 15K201, and this car has a internet price of $15,800. [redacted] showed her the vehicle, demonstrated it, and presented purchase numbers. [redacted] states that Mrs. [redacted] had a issue with the figures immediately and he took her to the website and reviewed the price with her as well as reading her the disclosure of our pricing and what it does and does not include. She stated to [redacted] and [redacted] that she did not want the additional accessories and additions, nor was she interested in paying for them and insisted on looking at another Soul on the lot without these additions. We let her know that we could show her a vehicle with less adds but all our new vehicles had some adds like tint, muds, wheel locks, market adjustment, and appearance packages. We presented 15K337 to her as this Soul only had $2300 worth of adds which was significantly lower that the adds from 15K201. She looked at the vehicle and liked it and the numbers, but stated she could not do anything without her husband whom would not be able to come in until Thursday. And that’s where we left off….

The addition of accessories and other additions are common practice in the automobile, RV and motorcycle/ATV industry and are not intended as "bait and switch". If Ms. [redacted] wishes to speak to the Owner/General Manager [redacted] she is welcome to call him at ###-###-####.

As a not to the Revdex.com we would have preferred her to make an attempt to speak with senior management prior to the Revdex.com opening an official complaint, as is practice with other consumer protection agencies, and suggest the Revdex.com takes a look at its internal processes to suggest to a consumer with a concern that they try and reach the owner or top level manager for resolution prior to accepting such a complaint.

Review: [redacted]

I reject [redacted]'s response because the dealership does not see what they are doing as wrong. From their response: "The addition of accessories and other additions are common practice in the automobile, RV and motorcycle/ATV industry and are not intended as "bait and switch"."
