On 1-31-2017 Mr. [redacted] came to American Auto Brokers and expressed interest in a truck he had found on our website. During this process he chose to have us appraise his trade (2013 Ford F-150 pickup truck). During the appraisal process our appraiser was unable to verify the 4 wheel drive function...

due to the fact that he could not get the 4 wheel drive to engage. After making this discovery our appraiser drove the vehicle to our service department and involved our lead tech/service manager to try and diagnose the issue in an effort to be as fair as possible to our potential customer on said appraisal. Upon inspection our Service Manager came to the conclusion that the problem was internal and would need further diagnostics to pin point the problem. What he did notice is that the vehicle had an aftermarket lift installed with bolts/parts missing and at a minimum he felt the drive shaft needed a spacer if the lift was going to be properly installed. He also note that the undercarriage of this vehicle was caked in mud and dirt as if it had been off-road recently. Mr. [redacted] felt that we had damaged his truck during the appraisal process since he had been using the 4 wheel drive the weekend prior.  We simply explained to him that was not the case and then he announced to our sales manager that he would be contacting an attorney. American Auto Brokers and its agents have achieved a 4.8 star review rating on Google with over 700 reviews.  We did not achieve this difficult task by not accepting responsibility for our actions. While we feel badly that the 4 wheel drive on Mr. [redacted] truck was not working at the time of our appraisal we cannot and will not accept responsibility for damage we did not do to his truck.
