I wish to file a complaint with the midsouth Revdex.com against Get Gone Auto at 316 West Poplar Avenue in [redacted] Tennessee. I took my car , a 2004 [redacted], in to have an oil leak fixed at a cost of around $80. I was informed that I needed 2 hoses so I agreed to have the hoses put on. During this process they broke my radiator and had to put a new radiator on. This ended up costing $407.32. March 7th I took my car back to have the fuel injection system cleaned and the oil changed at a cost of $121.21. This was on a Friday. Over the weekend my car started chug chugging. I called Get Gone on Monday and[redacted] asked me to bring the car back. At this point I was leery because my service engine light had also come on. I took my car to a [redacted] dealer Wednesday and had to leave it for 2 days. The [redacted] dealer informed me that my air conditioning pressure switch was broken and my cooling fans were running non-stop. I was told this apparently happened when Get Gone was taking the old radiator out or putting the new radiator in. Also, they did not put rubber grommets on the radiator and it was vibrating. It was also 2 quarts low on transmission fluid with no leak so they obviously don't check fluid levels when changing the oil. There was a heavy carbon buildup on the throttle. I have had fuel injection systems cleaned on cars before and this has never happened. The total of this was $283.00. I called [redacted] with Get Gone and asked to be reimbursed for this. He was belligerent and informed me that I should have brought my car back to him at which time I responded that I did not want to bring it back to them when they had already created enough problems for me. He said anyone I took my car to would have done the same thing and that he was not refunding my money. I would like to have the $283 refunded to me that I spent as a result of their negligence. My name is[redacted], address is XXXXX [redacted] TN XXXXX.Desired SettlementRefundBusiness Response To whom it may concern- Ms[redacted] brought her 11 year old 2004 [redacted] in early april of 2014.As she stated she brought the car in for an oil leak which after checking the car over further we found original hoses that Ms[redacted] agreed to repair at the cost of 360.00 plus taxes. When pulling the upper hose from the radiator ,the neck of the radiator cracked (it is plastic, and was 11 years old, unfortuanately these things can happen do to age,and would have happened if anyone went to replace the hoses)We at that point did have to replace the radiator but she leaves out the fact that she only spent 50 dollars more to replace the radiator than she originally agreed on the hoses. She also leaves out that I also replaced the hoses as well, the repair at full price would have been well into the 700.00 price range.A few weeks later she does return for an injector service, which is strange to begin with because not many people in my 30 years in this business come in and ask for an injector maintenance. She leaves that day with no poblems. The next time I spoke with Ms[redacted] was a few weeks after that with her telling me that she has been to [redacted] and has had all these problems. She did not call me prior to her [redacted] visit and unless she spoke with someone else at my store this is the first I had heard of any issues since she was here with the injector service..If anyone was belligerent on the phone call it was Ms[redacted],because I was not upset and had no reason to be.She informed me what had taken place at [redacted] and that she would never come back to our shop and wanted money reimbursed to her.I at that point informed her after being yelled at for several minutes that our warranty does not work like that, and that in this business it is unfortuanately common practice of shops blaming the other guy and telling you what you think you want to hear.I also told her if what she said happened here ,she would not have been able to drive for a month before the car acted up.We never were allowed to see the car and I told her had she brought it to me as I did when we had the incident with the 11 year old radiator that im sure I would have helped her but she decided to do something different and we will not refund anything to Ms[redacted] because we did nothing negligent or wrong.Thank you,[redacted]Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)While my car is a 2004, it was running fine when I took it into Get Gone Auto February 15th to have an oil leak fixed. They broke the radiator removing the hoses, which by the way weren't 11 years old. I had them replaced at a [redacted] dealer in[redacted] 5 years ago. The radiator was broken due to their incompetence. To say that any place I took my car to would have done the same thing is an excuse not a valid defense. I was foolish to take my car back Friday March 7th to have the fuel injection system cleaned. I have had the fuel injection systems cleaned on every car I have owned and have never had a problem. If they weren't used to cleaning fuel injection systems, They should have told me. They should also have told me if they weren't used to working on older model cars. The car ran terribly over the weekend. I called [redacted] Monday morning March 10th and told him it was hesitating and chug-chugging. I asked him what they did to my car and he said I don't know, you will have to bring it in and let me look at it. I said why would I bring it back to you when you have caused all these problems. I took it to a [redacted] dealer and was told it had a carbon build up around the throttle. It was also discovered that the air conditioning pressure switch was broken causing the cooling fan to run non-stop and not shut off. This apparently happened when the old radiator was taken out or when the new radiator was put in. I was out $282.00 to repair this. This is my complaint. They caused problems I would not have had otherwise. The moral to this story is - Do not take your vehicles to mechanics who have opened their own shop. Take it to a dealer where they know what they are doing and can work on older cars without creating more problems. I learned my lesson the hard way.
